I had been holding off on buying a pair of Hunters because of the price. Luckily, my generous aunt gave them to me for Christmas! Lucky me. She originally ordered the tall version. I had no idea that my calf would be considered "wide" or that I would feel like I was putting my leg into a vacuum seal. Needless to say, those were promptly returned and I exchanged them for the short. I couldn't be happier. They hit me a little above halfway up my calf (I'm 5'4") and they're roomy enough for thick socks. I usually wear a 7.5 or 8, and the 8s fit perfectly for a rain boot - not too tight but not too loose. (I was surprised that so many have said they run large.) They're pretty perfect rain boots and are exactly what I've wanted/needed for years. Couldn't be happier.

These are perfect boots the color carries a blue smoke color. I don't have small calves and these boots fit great with warm socks - fit true to size. Worth every penny.

This are your regular hunter boots but in a short version. I bought this as a present for my Mom for upcoming travel, the reason I got the short version is because my Mom has pretty big legs, shes nos fat or anything but her legs are WIDE, she can never use regular store bought boots, always has them custom made. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable, the only thing is her leg is not fully covered but she is used to it anyway.

These are great boots as are the Hunter socks I use with them. Quality workmanship. I have a very narrow heel so they are a little loose there but I bought my actual size and they fit. I would buy my true size again. Perfect for mornings at the dog park. These will last forever.

Love these. I'm 5'2" and the tall boots are too high on me. These are perfect and stylish. Like Uggs, if you are a 1/2 size go down.

Love these Hunters! Great function for rain/grass etc.. Very comfortable! Wore them all day long with no problems. Room to wear nice thick socks. I don't think I have very large calves, but the taller Hunters did not work for me. These are a great height and no calf problems.

Normally I wear a size 7 in normal shoes, 6.5 in boots, but the size 6 of this shoe fit perfectly! I love them so much. They do not give, which is a good and a bad thing. I think I might need to buy insoles to make them a bit more comfortable. Mine did not arrive with 'blooming'.They have good traction and the color is matte, just like I wanted. I am 4'11" and the these shoes hit me perfectly just above mid calf. They don't chaff behind my knee. Also, Zappos is awesome; they arrived so fast! Overall, I am definitely happy with this buy.

Love these classic hunter rain boots! I'm normally a 6.5 US and I ordered a 6 and they fit perfectly and snug so that they are comfortable to walk in. I went with the short boot because I am petite (5'2") and thought the tall ones would bug my knees and these hit around the base of my calf and look very nice without making my legs look short and stubby. Make sure to wear socks or something in them, I went without them once and it was a battle getting the boots off. Must-have for inclement weather!

I got these boots about a month ago for my job on an Oregon farm. They are very practical and water proof. The only thing I don't love is that the insole does not come out, and is very flat. Since I have a highish arch, I wish I could change it for more support. Also, they are not warm! I'm outside in the cold for long periods and with double wool socks I still feel the chill. This is not a huge problem though, and on warmer days doesn't matter anyways. The most important part is I'm nice and dry even after being ankle deep in mud and rain!

Bought these as a gift. My niece loves them. They are less bulky than Boggs, look gorgeous and fit her calves. I own the tall style for myself, but not every storm calls for that much protection and these shorter ones can work with pants or skirts, so they can be worn more often. A great purchase!

Like these boots. Yellow, so need constant washing. But much cooler and lighter than the full length Hunters.

Hunter boots are popular for a reason. They are great quality. I have larger calves so after reading the reviews I opted for the short. I really love my boots and have already gotten quite a bit of use out of them. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone.

I have flat feet and wide wide calves. I am so glad I went with the short boot - it's a breeze to get on, no pinching, no bunching, and I don't have to do a crazy yoga pose to pull my wet rain boots off. I didn't even think about the arch support when I bought it, but I'm really happy with how comfortable they feel on my feet. Plus, the yellow color is very cheerful on a street full of dark-colored boots.

For me this boot is wider and larger than marked. I'm a true 6 and that's what I ordered and the boots fit like a 7 shoe. But with the hunter sock and a pair of medium weight socks they fit perfect. If you want to go barefoot, size down. This is a wonderful length to slip on and go - great for running the dog outside. I have worn them to work all day and find that my feet get pretty hot. They are super durable though and 100% waterproof (I wore them wading in a creek and no leaks)! I sort of wish I would have gotten the gloss, despite its higher maintenance. The downside to the matte finish is that it can tend to look like a gardening boot, but it's a functional item and not fashion for me. They are comfortable to walk in, but gets slightly heavy after a long walk. They are a little cumbersome until you get used to them and it is a little hard to bend at the ankle. I had no issue getting my foot in and out (sans sock) and there was no issue fitting skinny jeans in there (but I have 12" calf, so that's not unusual). There is a little gaping for the thinner calved girls, but it improves with the sock. I got the shorts because I'm short (5'3), but I can see them working on any height. They are well made on the inside and of quality material. I'm very hard on my boots, so time will only tell if they stand up to their reputation. Awesome boots! I did order 1/2 size down and they fit perfect...I even have enough room to wear my welly socks. They do have a strong smell the first couple times you wear them, but that does go away. I will never buy another brand of rainboot!

Love the shorter style...easy to get on. I also purchased the yellow liners which keep my feet warmer. I could wear these all day!

Bought these this year after wearing Bogs for several years. They're much more fashionable. I really like them. For added comfort though, I bought arch support inserts, which definitely help with the lack of arch support. The only thing I wish they had was a little more insulation like my Bogs. But all-in-all very happy with this purchase.

I've wanted a pair of Hunter rain boots for years. I finally decided to buy them. They are a half a size bigger. I wear 7 1/2 and the 7's fit with even a little extra room. The only advice I would give is, if you're allergic to rubber (as I learned I am) you need to wear socks that won't rub on your legs. I got a rash on the front and back side of my legs.

I live in the Northeast, and I owned a few pairs of less expensive rainboots before deciding to purchase Hunter rainboots. My previous rainboots would give me blisters or would hardly last through one harsh winter. Now I wear my Hunter rainboots multiple times per week during the winter, and they are perfect! I never thought I could run comfortably in rainboots. I usually wear either an 8 or an 8.5, but I found that a size 7 fits perfectly. I purchased the boots with the Welly socks to keep my feet warm in the winter, and they actually stretched the boots out a bit more so they are even more comfortable now. I would definitely recommend trying them on for sizing in store before purchasing them.

I bought these to wear around the barn on wet, muddy days. They are much more comfortable than I thought they would be, but I don't walk miles and miles in them. Definitely do the job of keeping my feet and ankles out of the muck -- I did order one size smaller than I thought I would need. In running shoes, etc., I wear an 8 or 8.5 but found the size 7 in the wellies to fit just fine, even with medium to thick socks. They are such a classic look, and it's really nice not dreading those soggy trips out to the pasture and back!

I love these boots! I have a wider calf so I bought the shorts which are perfect! Even if my fat calfs could fit in the talls I don't think I'd like the height as much. These boots are so comfortable and don't get saggy looking like other rain boots. They are work the investment.

I originally bought the Hunter Original Tall boots. I'm 5'3" and after wearing them twice I had to admit they were just too tall. I then exchanged them for the shorts in a 8 which is my normal size. After wearing them once or twice, I had to admit they were just too big! I exchanged them again for the shorts in a 7, and I'm so happy I did! They are perfect, and I was pleased with Zappos' customer service.

I love these boots! They hit at the perfect spot in the mid-calf. I actually bought the Hunter tall boot and returned them for these. You can wear cute socks or I've worn them with tights and a dress. I'm a size 8 shoe and that size worked for me in these boots. Only downfall is they don't breathe and sometimes by the end of the day my socks are wet. Eeewwww!

This shoe is awesome! I live in the rainy pacific northwest without a car and needed a shoe that would keep my feet dry and looked cute. I had gone through about 3 pairs of the cheap rubber boots before realizing they were not worth saving the extra money. I'm so glad I finally got these boots. The Hunter boot did everything and more that I was hoping for! Really comfortable and I didn't even feel like I had to "break them in," they were cozy from the get go. I normally wear about a size 8 1/2 so I got a size 8 per other reviews saying they ran big. I probably could have even gone with a size 7 as I have to wear two pairs of socks so they fit more snug, but that's fine by me as it helps keep my feet toasty. Just be wary of sizing. Other than that this is the perfect rubber and vegan boot. Don't waste your time buying the cheap version of these.
