I had been reluctant to spend so much on a pair of boots, but I'm really glad that I finally did. These boots are great. I recommend buying the boot socks for inside as well.

These are great boots! Just a word on sizing, I normally wear a 7.5 -8 in shoe size. In Hunter Wellies I wear a US 6, so they do run pretty large. My 6's still have plenty of room for double socks or an insole. Most reviews I see say go down a size but its really go down about two sizes. These boots are slightly wide so it gives a bit more room too. Having these boots too large makes the feel very clunky. All in all, great boots, great quality, great style, just don't forget they run very large.

I love these boots! I bought some off brand rain boots and they were horrible, they hurt were hard to put on and take off! The Hunters I just slide my foot in and comes of smoothly. Cute too!

These boots are ideal for rainy days. Even though I have pretty long legs, I prefer this short version to the tall Hunters because these are lighter and more versatile. The matte navy blue is also a nice neutral that pairs well with all sorts of pants without making a huge statement. I should also add that they're comfortable, provided you are wearing appropriate socks so that your feet aren't swimming around inside with extra space! (Some people wear this sort of boot without any socks, which I would NOT recommend! Thicker socks are best for these.)

This is an incredibly high quality boot. The craftsmanship is undeniable. I loved the look of these when I was opening the box, but these particular ones don't flatter my legs. I ordered my normal shoe size (size 10). It was very roomy in the sole of the boot, which I liked since I have rather wide feet. But the top opening was also very roomy , which didn't look flattering as it was hitting me right below the widest part of my calf. I will be returning, but I still plan on Hunter boots in the future (most likely the tall ones).

I really love these boots. They are perfect for rain and winter snow as long as you get the fleece liners. I normally wear a size 7 across the board, but I sized down because of all the reviews about them running big. The size 6 fits perfect, but I wouldn't necessarily say the 7 would have been HUGE. I'm happy I got the size 6, though. Extremely well made boot and overall very comfortable. They are heavy, obviously, because of the thickness of the sole but I think that's expected.

This was my third attempt to have Hunter boots. I have large calves, thanks to years of dancing, and have a hard time finding cute and comfortable rain boots. I tried the adjustable back boots first and those were too large on the top of the calf but too tight on the bottom of the calf. Then I ordered the huntress boots and those just fit my smaller calf and was way to tight in my left calf. Then I go theses and they fit both my calves are are a good height- I am 5'1 and they hit just at my mid calf. I can't wait to wear these and they are well worth the money because they can be used in rain and snow with the wellies! (Also I am a 6 1/2 but I ordered the 6 and they fit perfect!

Had to size down a whole size (solid 10 but need 9 in these). Amazing craftmanship! Very comfortable and sturdy. Not sure how they'll work with thick socks as the fit is pretty snug.

Although I haven't had an opportunity to wear these boots yet, I'm very pleased with the product. I bought a pair of Chookas in a size 10 and returned them because they were huge. I can wear a size 9-10, depending on the brand. Those were huge and I thought it would be worth it to go with the Hunter rain boot. I ordered a 9 based off other reviews and it was a good choice. Perfect fit with room for socks. You don't need to size up with these boots. I have high expectations for these beautiful, matte plum boots, that I will be able to wear them all day long while teaching at school. I'm ready for a chilly rainy day!

Love this. Need a larger size which I already have ordered and received. They run large but five was just not good with the fleece socks.

I have four pairs of Hunters and only one has waxed up on me. I recommend using a dry soft shoe brush and vigorous brushing. It works for me every time. I use zero Goo Gone, no wet cleaners what so ever. Couldn't be easier. Sometimes I only dry brush the foot of the boot and let the shaft stay slightly waxy. It's a really cool look, reminiscent of the classic two tone "NewMarket" riding boot look. I've gotten lots of compliments while wearing the boot this way!

These boots are perfect to slip into each morning when I take the dog out. They do run large, so I ordered a size smaller and the fit is great. Good choice.

I love this boot! Have in black, short. The tall style did not fit right on my heavier calves. These keep your feet completely dry, fit like a glove, clean up like brand new. I've worn them on several photography shoots in the mud, the rain, and whenever it looks like rain! Many compliments, especially from men. They must know a good boot! Zappos has a great guarantee so no reason to go anywhere else!

Very comfortable and roomy inside - good for thick socks. I wear 10.5 wide and I just got an 11 with regular width. Works perfectly.

No rubber smell (nice). Great style (nice). Perfect color (nice again). Comfort (double nice). These boots are just what you'd expect from Hunter. Comfort and style. For my short stature, the short boot works much better than the tall. Love this boot. For the reviewer that mentioned the "bloom", do look on the Hunter site or at the care instructions that came with the boots. Purchase the cleaner sold here on Zappos. I do not have any bloom, but a friend who did said the cleaner does the trick.

These boots are great so far! Originally, I bought the tall Hunter boots but those were too narrow in the calves (typically, not a problem for me but these boot are very narrow). So, I ended getting the short ones instead and they fit just fine and are less bulky. I also bought the fleece welly socks to go with my boots and they make the boot so warm! They boot is true to size if I am wearing the welly socks and almost a size too big without the welly socks. So basically, you have to always wear welly socks or never wear welly socks.

This is my very first pair of rain boots. The eggplant color is subtle but a great variation on a classic black color. They are comfortable and do not pinch. They have kept me dry in a several rainstorms.

These rain boots have a beautiful classic style. Everyone thinks they are leather rather than rubber. They run about a size larger, but they are so comfortable compared to other rain boots and you can easily walk all day in them. They are worth the higher price.

Great rain boots...perfect for walking in puddles and rain and keeping feet dry. A little bigger than regular boots, especially in the calf area, but comfortable.

This has been a good runner up purchase. Originally ordered the tall boot but they were tight around the calves and were to tall for my legs. Huntress boots would have been the next choice but they are unavailable in most cases. I am 5'5" medium build and not over weight, just a runner so my calves stay a consistent 16 inches wide. Great overall product no complaints, color as pictured...true and Zappos customer service rep. was outstanding. It was my first return exchange to the company and I could have not been more pleased with the help she gave me.

I would like to suggest that you also make these available in wide calf as well! I am a wide width shoe and these fit but could use a little more room in the calf. Love them, and used them a lot this winter.

Hunters really are the best! Worth the price. I had some rubber boots from another brand (less expensive but not cheap) and a year or so after using occasionally, there was a leak. My feet got cold and wet. Not ideal for walking around NYC. These are comfortable and keep feet warm and dry. They do the job and they're cute. Do need warm/thick socks to keep feet warm in winter. I like these because they don't go all the way up to my knee. I'm 5' 4" and these look much better than the regular size. As other reviews said, I did go down a size and they are perfect. Zappos was quick and efficient.

I usually get a size 5.5 or 6 and I went down to 5 because of everyone's suggestions. At first I was worried they we're a little snug in the toes, but after having them for a while I'm glad! I can still double up with socks for cold or extra cushion. I walk the dog or run errands in them, and still manage to look cute! I got them for spring but have been wearing them while it's still winter. Great for both seasons. The short length is great for my short height (5'2")!

This is my third pair of Hunter Boots. I have to get the short one because I have larger calves. I have 2 short pairs (color variety) and a tall adjustable back pair. These boots look great with a skinny jeans, leggings, or even a dress! They are comfy and definitely keep your feet dry from rain or snow. But for snow, please get some wellie socks or other thick socks because as soon as the snow hits the boot, your toes will be freezing! Otherwise, enjoy these classic boots!

I have wider calves and am pretty short, so I ordered these and I'm happy with them. I am a true size 7 normally, but I decided to order these in a 7, despite reviews to size down based on past experience with rain boots. I find that I like the extra room for if my feet swell a bit since the boots don't really have any give at all. I also ordered the Moss Welly socks to go with them, and they are actually quite cozy with the 7, I'm not sure a size down would work with the welly socks. When I wear them without welly socks, I plan to just wear them with thicker socks. Highly recommend these as an option to anyone with wider calves. They are super cute.
