Best boat shoes period. Great craftsmanship. The fit is true to size. These are meant to be worn without socks. They might feel a little snug with socks on.

I have three pairs of Timberland boat shoes but this review is on the root beer colored ones. Timberland hits the nail on the head with their boat shoe. This is a very well built shoe that is made of high quality materials. The leather does not feel cheap, the stitching is tight, and the fit is true to size. The ONLY thing about this shoe that I would change if I could would be to make them with a Goodyear welt construction (heat seal the outer and mid sole and then sew them to the upper). Timberland's boat shoe is cemented, which is not nearly as durable. If they Goodyear welted them, this shoe would be untouchable. Other than that, this boat shoe is perfect. They beat out Sperry in every category in my opinion. Style is not a concern for this shoe. Everyone knows boat shoes are very versatile. You can wear them with jeans and a t-shirt doing errands around town or you can wear them with a button down and a pair of khakis to dinner. That's what makes them so beloved. And the root beer ones have a nice gloss to them. When I'm heading out on the town, I give them a quick buffing with my shoe polishing brush and they look good as new with a new sheen on them.

Shoe is very comfortable

This is my forth pair. I have a back up brown pair along with a black and blue. I have worn my original pair to work over 2,000 times and they are still descent though I did have one stitch mended at a shoe repair shop two years ago. I would like to see more colors including green, and bring back the yellow.

All time classic boat shoe, comfortable and reliable. I have happily owned several dozen pairs over my life.

I sometimes wear shoes w/o socks and the inside of this shoe is fairly soft and is comfortable. There is an insole which removes the "flat feel" many boat shoes have. The finish is first class and I like the sole color. White is too hard to maintain over time.
