Good shoes; wear them most of the day. I depend on New Balance because they come in 2A sizes.

This is a very comfortable shoe, both for walking and for going to the gym. I was having problems with heel pain, and the doctor recommended a New Balance walking shoe. The service with Zappos is excellent. I first ordered a size 8, and it was too small. After calling for a half size larger, I received the shoes the very next day before I even had a chance to return the first ones. I order at Zappos every chance I get because of their excellent customer service.

These are a great shoe just for wearing around or for walking/fitness. The toe box is wide and I am able to fit in my custom orthotics.

For someone with serious foot issues, these shoes provide great support and don't look like big clod hoppers I have them in black too.

I've been wearing the 845 for years because of my bad back. The 845 is a comparable shoe, so I love it. Zappos was cheaper by far over the other stores I've used in the past. Fast and efficient service!

I love this shoe! Fit is great and my feet and legs don't give out even after a full day of shopping and wrapping presents, etc. Only thing I don't like about them is the color - I thought black would be a good color to wear with slacks but I'll order a new pair in a different color!

I bought these hoping the width would be right. I am pleased with this shoe, the width gives ample room in the toe box without making the shoe look bulky. Arch support is good, also.

These shoes are wonderful! I have had heel spurs for years and had not exercised in months. I am back to exercising again because of these shoes!

Excellent shoes. My mom wears these shoes exclusively, in a wide size. Zappos is fantastic; you can't beat their shipping!

As always, great delivery service from Zappos. The sneakers are excellent. Almost no breaking-in period; comfy right away. Wonderful support for a plantar fasciitis sufferer! I never wear sneakers other than NB.

The shoe is a worthy successor to the 845. The sizing is different from the 845. Usually wore an 8 1/2 in the 845, went to an 8 in the 846. Next time will order my regular size (in every other shoe) of a 7 1/2 M. The shoe is a little more sleek but still has great room in the toebox.

I work in the health field & am on my feet all day. These shoes are very comfortable & have good arch support. I wear a wide & these have plenty of room in the toe box.

This is a comfortable shoe for wide feet. The SL-2 last provides a deep and roomy toe box, plus the heel is narrower so you don't walk out of the shoe. Unfortunately, this style is being discontinued in black and the replacement number 847 is another meshy-type shoe. This is not good if you need a shoe for cooler weather. The price tag is too expensive for these shoes. One pair I had purchased barely lasted a year.

Nice shoe. Fits really well. I have a narrow foot and it's difficult to find a shoe that fits out of the box. I can wear it for hours but not all day. By then, it begins to get uncomfortable. Maybe, after I've worn it longer, it will soften up.

These are well made shoes, that are comfortable, with the typical New Balance fit (wide in front, narrow in back). I bought these to wear for Zumba, but after 15 minutes, my toes went numb. Maybe due to the tread design? Also, the sole stuck to the floor too much for Zumba, making it hard to pivot. I was afraid I would twist my knee. Otherwise, they were comfortable for standing and walking. I returned them and bought New Balance 856 instead.

I've been a happy convert to New Balance for my walking shoes, having had my most recent pair for the last 6 years. They've been worn a lot, and have even been (machine) washed several times. They're still comfy (and honestly still look OK), but decided recently, for better body mechanics and support, it was time to replace them. These appeared to best duplicate my favorites--the high toe box, especially, my concern. However, even that brand new, ah, such luxury thing didn't happen with this pair, and after wearing them several hours in the house, have decided I will return them. I find the fit around the ankle and the part where they lace feels stiff and constraining, rather than comfortably supportive. In fact, the edge on the front/inside of my ankle was irritating, as it comes up a little high for me. (I have rather bony ankles, but never encountered this problem with my previous pair.) The fit was otherwise true to size (I'm a 9B), and Zappos, as always, was a pleasure from start to finish. I'm sorry I have to go back to square 1 with a search for new shoes. Really thought this would be a slam/dunk choice, especially since I felt I was probably stepping up a bit--they cost considerably more than I've ever spent before.

These are pretty close to the old style but they just don't seem to have the same arch support.

Thanks again Zappos and New Balance! No buyer's remorse here. A walking shoe with a pleasing design mix of leather and not too much mesh. Room for my custom orthotic for over pronation. Plentiful cushioning! Would love to see the 846 offered in a medium brown smooth leather/mesh.

I always seem to buy NBs because of their styling, quality and comfort. These replaced my 845s (which after 3 months the fabric in the heel well started tearing). These are the next-gens. One big style difference -- no more leather uppers so it will remain to be seen how they hold up. Kind of disappointed they are all plastic now, but still comfortable nonetheless. I love NBs and Zappos!

These are good sturdy shoes but the problem seems to be that with a custom orthotic, the arch is a bit high and I feel like I am rocking along on top of it. Maybe with an additional cushioned insert the fit would be better for me. Still experimenting but have hopes it will work out. They have a good stiff supportive heel counter and that helps with the fit. Like the all-black styling.

It took a while to break in these shoes. I walked around the house with them when I first got them and they felt fine. Then, about 20 minutes into my first gym workout with them my feet were hurting very bad. Both my baby toes were rubbed a lot and the outer edges of my foot were rubbed red as well. I would have returned these shoes in a heartbeat if I hadn't worn them outside. Now that they are finally broken in they feel good. I just wish breaking them in did not take so long and with so much pain.

Love the fit and comfort; hate the fabric tongue that moves to either side, does not at all stay in place no matter how tightly the shoes are tied.

I wear a 9 1/2 WW and this shoe fit well. It offers good support but really lacks cushion. I wore them for a week but had to stop because my feet hurt!
