As an owner of both the "standard" and "JV" slip-on Chucks, I recommend the JVs. Compared to the standard Converse All Star slip, the JV version uses better quality materials, plus they are much more cushioned and supportive. With other brands, I wear a 12. With basic Chucks, I wear an 11. With my JVs, I can still squeeze into an 11, but it's a little more snug (not uncomfortable). Sizing is a bit tricky for all of the JV versions because they come with very thick and cushioned removable insoles that occupy additional room in the shoes, therefore, making them feel more narrow than the standard Chucks. My suggestion on fit...order a 1/2 size smaller if you have wide feet, and 1 full size smaller if you have narrow feet.

I love these Chuck's. They look great and feel great. These have more arch support then the plain Converse. Very comfortable, with or without socks!

Shoes are well made and comfortable but are definitely larger than advertised.

Ordered a size down based on reviews here and they fit and feel perfect. Great for knocking around the house. Very comfortable, much more comfortable than standard allstars. Zappos as usual was great.

Love Zappos! Shoes were here in 2 days and fit perfect as usual. Chucks seem to be a size larger than marked so my usual 8.5 in any other brand was a 7.5 in Chucks. Definitely not my last pair of Varvatos.

At first the shoes are very tight as I do have wide feet but they actually start to loosen up after about a week's wear. Now they are super comfortable. Guys, make sure you order either a half size smaller or full size smaller. I did half size and I'm happy with the purchase. Other than that I already get great comments from everyone I know. They may lack a little cushion up in the front area but I choose the comfort on these over all the other Converse shoes I've tried. Worth the price!

These are great, comfortable and awesome-looking Chucks. Had to return a couple times though because they are a full size smaller than I normally wear. As always, Zappos customer service is second-to none.

Ever since I received these slip on Converse, I have had a hard time wearing any other shoe I own. They are comfortable and I walk for hours in them. I thought maybe there would be problems with the wear size or the shoe staying on but I was wrong. They are my favorite pair of shoes period.

If you love Chuck Taylor All Stars, this is for you! More comfortable than a normal All Star, stylish, and unique. I like the touch of the eyelets, the stars on the front around the edge, and comfortable insole with an arch. I'm not sure what everyone is talking about with the sizing off; they fit just like every other Converse. Sure the sizing is off compared to normal shoes, but it's normal for a Converse. A+ to this shoe...A+ to Zappos!

I ordered these shoes yesterday with standard ground shipping, but to my surprise Zappos upgraded the shipping free of charge and I got them today (I really do love Zappos service). These are my first pair of Converse. They do look nice and seem comfortable. Based on previous reviews I ordered these shoes a half size smaller than my normal shoe size, and that worked out well because the fit is good. So take note that these shoes run a bit big. The toe box is a bit narrow, but a half size larger would make the shoe too long. My toes feel only a slight discomfort, but no pain or anything like that. My other complain is that the elastic strap on the tongue of the shoe is place too low, therefore my foot slides up just a tiny bit. A higher placed elastic band would provide a more secure fit. It is just a design flaw, but it does not make the shoe unwearable. To help with the fit I switched the insole for a pair that I bought separately which are a bit thicker, and that solved the problem. But please note that the insole of the shoe is great as it is and it is just as is shown in the Zappos video: thick and soft with plenty of cushion. My store bought insoles just provide me with a bit more support which I need. The sole of the shoe is thick, but actually very flexible. The eyelets are a nice contrast to the canvas, and the canvas seems strong and durable. My next purchase will be the Converse Varvatos Leather Slip. Check them out.

Just as expected, heard so many good things about this shoe and now I know why. It's sweet looking and comfortable inside for a Chuck. I see a lot of reviews that say they run small, but I wear a 13 and bought a 13 as there was no 12.5 available and these fit me just fine. They look awesome with a nice pair of jeans. Sweet shoe!

I love the laceless Chucks. These are even better because of the black eyeholes and trim. The biggest problem I normally have with these are the loose strings that start to appear, but since these are JV and canvas, no such issue. Great shoe.

Very comfortable. I felt they ran a half size too big. I wear a 10.5 but needed a 10. Overall, great shoe with style and comfort.

Order a full size smaller than you normally wear. I wear a 12 in most brands but an 11 is perfect with these. They feel snug at first but will loosen up within the first day of wearing. They look great and slip on/off easily. They are comfortable and offer a surprising amount of arch support. Big fan.

Love them! Wish I could wear them more. Comfy and stylish, I've gotten several comments already. I ordered a couple other colors in the same size and they were too big, not sure what is up with that.

Great looking shoe, but extremely narrow. Not very comfortable if you have a wide foot. Had to sadly return mine.

I'm a big fan of these Varvatos Converses - they are comfortable (if you're accustomed to Converses) and simple. They're my favorite airport shoes since they slip on and off very easily and don't take up much space if you're packing them. My only complaint is that they seem to fall apart where the bottom lining meets the rubber, so either a little creative glue use is in order or you can just keep buying more of them like me.
