Look just like the pic. My boyfriend loves them! Wouldn't normally spend this much but, he's a Converse "lover" so I knew he'd love these.

Best shoes I've ever worn! Way more comfortable then your average chucks. The sole looks awesome and unique. Worth the money fer sure! Size is more accurate the the average chucks, so don't buy a size smaller.

Beautifully designed take on the classic. I love the color and detail (and my preschool aged daughter loves the big red star on the bottom). My only complaint is the sizing; ordinarily I wear a 10.5, but based on reviews here went with a 10 and then finally a 9.5 before I found a good fit. Still, stylish and comfortable.

Chuck Taylors run big so I had to go through a few sizes find the right one. They're okay. They're nice. It feels like I might slip out of them.

Nice, I ordered 9 instead of my usual 9 1/2 & fit was perfect. No comparison to cheap cons as these have removable insoles, but they do not come with laces. I'm too old for that look so I bought a pair & they are fine.

A lot more comfy than your typical chucks. Robust foot bed, appears to be leather. Stylish and classic look. Perfect with jeans, shorts, kilt, jean shorts (jargos) do people still wear those? It's up to you. You could frolic in these things with nothing else on and you'd still be amazed but the comfort. Can't wait for summer so I can rock these some shorts.

I bought these as a gift for my husband. I ordered them on Monday and received them Tuesday afternoon! I absolutely love Zappos! Anyway my husband reports that this style shoe feels looser and stretches more after wearing compared to his other/regular pairs of Converses. The looseness causes rubbing (and blisters!) when he walks and we had to return them. The length of the shoes is perfect, so we cannot get him a smaller size. Otherwise, they are very nice shoes. Maybe they are a better fit for those with wider feet.

Much bigger than normal Chucks. I wear 11's in slim cut laceless, and with the Varvatos 11 was too big, and 10.5 was too big. So I'm attempting to get a 10 now. I hate shopping for shoes but at least Zappos delivers fast, too bad I don't have a printer to make returns easy. The White tips scuff as with any Chucks and it's part of the style but so far half of them come with the toe being scuffed like worn. Like a tacky scuff. If you have the cash, I would suggest buying two pair and returning one.

I really like this shoe but the reviews are correct. The shoe does run about a size too large. Normally, with a shoe marked as having a medium width I would order an 11 but for this shoe a 10 was about right for me (if it was a wide width, I would order 10.5). These shoes are also much more supportive than the regular Converse Chuckies and of good quality.

These Chucks look amazing. Nice grey, awesome sole, no laces to get filthy and muck up the design, and of course, they are quick to take on an off. They also come in a fancy box with a shoe bag (?!). No different in comfort than normally price Chucks and they have absolutely no arch support, so an insert may be necessary. I wear a size 11 (with one foot slightly larger than the standard 11) and I found the sizing to be fine.

I wear a 9 in loafers with thin dress socks. For fitment purposes, I got both 8 & 8.5 size shoes. Tried them on at work with dress socks on. Found the 8 to be snug in the toe box and width while the 8.5 were just right. I typically insert a different sole with more arch support so in the end, these should fit like a glove with athletic socks. The outer sole appears to adhere very well to the canvas upper. These types of shoes are notorious for breaking the bond right at your instep but the other pair I own seems to be holding up quite well. They are suede.

Love these shoes. Ordered a size down based on other reviews and they fit great. Only gripe is that the bottom of the shoe isn't like the picture. Not that I'm looking at the bottom of my shoes very often, but in the pictures here, it looks pretty cool. The ones I got were just a plain brown rubber. Other than that I'm happy.

Runs too big, had to run a shoelace through them because they kept slipping off when i walked. Ive always been a size 9 in chucks, but this size 9 was not thesame.

I ordered a full size smaller than my normal size. I've owned many pairs of converse before and that seems to work great for me. But after I tried these on, the right foot looked and felt a half size larger than the left one. The right shoe slips off my foot as the left one fits snug and secure. The heel box of the right foot feels too wide, too. And the rubber and and sole of the right shoe look warped. I will exchange them for another pair.

I already own the leather John Varvatos high top Converse All Stars and I love them. I have had them for over three years, and they are phenomenal - my only complaint with them is that they are a little bit time consuming to get on and off. I was already prepared to fall in love with these and take them on a Europe trip later this month which will involve walking all over the place, and I just wanted something that was easier to take on and off than my other pair. I normally wear a US men's size 10, and my other high tops were a size 10 and fit great. All the reviews on these convinced me to order down half a size to 9½. I did and that was the right choice for these. Having said that, the front fits perfectly, but the back is loose enough that when I take a step my heels come up out of the shoe maybe ¼" as I take each step. I am afraid that will end up rubbing blisters onto my heels. But if I exchanged them for half a size smaller, they would definitely be too small in the front. I guess these just do not work for my feet, unfortunately. I ended up returning them after all.

As others mentioned, it runs a full size too big and has a very strong, chemical odor. The insole is more comfortable than the average Chuck, looks great, but I had to return this one.

I always order converse low stops slips and decided to try out this John Varvatos one. The shoes started falling apart within 3 months. The entire sole came unglued from the shoe body on both shoes within 6 months. Not good quality.

These shoes fit much different than normal Chucks. I tried 3 different sizes and no matter what size my foot slips out when I walk. I think the thicker cushion makes the foot sit higher up and causes it to slip. Removing the pad didn't help much. The style is nice and it's unfortunate as I really liked these shoes.

What is up with these? They are way bigger than the size indicates, much more so than any shoe I've ever owned. I've already had to exchange for a size 10, and I ain't going any lower because I've never had to. Like several others have pointed out, the soles are super-rigid and the elastic tongue is loose, so your heel is virtually guaranteed to slip out with each step. Back to the drawing board, John!

I own lots of chuck taylors, 3 pair of the John Varvatos chucks. The JV chucks don't hold up in comparison, in fact, the soles start falling apart almost immediately. I have seen this on all 3 pairs bought from different places at different times... Wouldn't recommend.

I tried on two different sizes in these shoes. My regular size was way too long Half a size down was way too narrow. But the main problem with these shoes that they are literally impossible to wear. My feet came out of the shoes the second that I attempted to walk in them. Obviously the back is not high enough and the insole, though good, is too big and high for these shoes. Also, the shoes had this synthetic paint thinner smell that made me nauseous. I love the design of these shoes compared to the completely ruined Chuck Taylor that Converse has been cranking out since 2000, but they are absolutely not comfortable or worth the high cost.

These shoes are great, other than the fact that the last two that I ordered came apart within three months - the sole unglues from the sides very soon after wearing. For such expensive shoes, this is really lame. Your order should ship with free Krazy Glue, which seems to help.

It has been my experience that Converse All-Stars typically run a full size larger than marked. But with these, that was not the case. I thought they were close and they would loosen up, so I kept them. That was a big mistake. They did not break in at all, and of course by that time I could not return them.
