This shoe has a relatively more graceful look than normal Birkenstocks. Other reviews mentioned that it ran large, so I ordered a size smaller and it fit perfectly. Comes in narrow as well. It\'s fairly comfortable, though I\'m breaking it in slowly.

Love my Birkenstock shoes, though they weren't exactly what I expected. I failed to realize that they'd be patent leather, which isn't really a problem, just not what I had planned on. I wear a lot of skirts in the summer, and these are very versatile for work or play! Extremely comfy, though my foot feels fat (my problem/issue, not the shoes).

The Mayari is my very 1st Birkenstock ever. I ordered my typical size shoe of a 5 womens (36 european) and it was way too big. So I ordered one size down of a 35. They fit. I'm still breaking them in, but they feel OK. I still don't feel that Birks are terribly attractive, but I bought them for comfort as all of coworkers were telling me to. I'm not 100% sure they're all that comfy for the price, but we'll see. I'm only 1.5 weeks in and I haven't experienced the broken toe strap yet and I hope that I don't.

I usually love Birks, already have the Arizona and Gizeh, have ordered the Mayari twice from Zappos; first pair came without a box or packing paper so exchanged for identical pair which came today in a generic box but the left shoe toe loop was looser or larger than the right shoe and did not feel comfortable or secure, afraid it would detach with wear. Also ordered the same style in genuine leather from another retailer which the left shoe toe loop was a larger loop than right shoe and when examining it the loop was not even glued in properly and came right out just after trying on the shoes. Quality control is missing somehow especially on this style, have not had any issues with the Arizona or Gizeh, the Arizona being the most comfortable which are leather with soft footbed. So sorry to return these, really liked the look/style. Still give Zappos a star rating for their customer service, great people! Still searching for another good Birk style as my other two pair are several years old.

This style is huge! I wear a 38, this 38 is so big, I had to return. I ordered 1 size dozen I’ll let you know how it fits.

I WISH these came in wide widths and I WISH toe wrapped shoes or thong style was comfortable. But it's not.

I had high hopes for these shoes as I previously owned a pair of Mayari’s a few years ago. I originally ordered a size 40 but exchanged them for a 39. From toe to heel the 39’s fit perfectly. I wore them for one day and the shoes rubbed my feet in all the wrong places and on both feet. After taking them off for a bit, I tried them again and it hurt too much wear them. They seemed extremely narrow. Despite me acknowledging with a Zappos representative (Hunter G......thank you!) that I indeed wore them for a day, the company accepted the shoes back for a full return. For that I am thankful as they are a pretty pricey shoe. Thank you Zappos!

Not for me…the toe next to my big toe is a bit longer than normal so it hit the lip that’s around the footbed and the next size up wouldn’t look good. They felt pretty stiff as well. Just not meant to be for me.

I wear these Birkenstocks exclusively. I have never had this happen but, on this pair they have allowed gluing to seep out right where the arch of my foot is, which is terribly uncomfortable. Kind of feels like having a thorn in my shoe. Sadly I’m returning them.

Overall, I Iike the shoes, and the color I picked. I'm satisfied. ;-).

Unfortunately these did not last like my previous Birkenstock’s from years ago, Which lasted 20 years! I just had to get those resoled once. This new pair lasted about 1.5 years:( then the corking on both shoes started to crack. They were very comfortable until they started to deteriorate.

I have a bazillion Arizonas in 38N. After reading a lot of reviews, I decided to get these in a 37 regular and I'm glad I did. The fit is perfect. A 38 would have been way too big. The regular width fit my foot almost exactly like the 38Ns I usually get, so I would also say these run a little narrower. I'm giving three stars because of the inconsistent fit. Not sure why Birkenstock can't make these to fit like the Arizonas. Zappos is great with returns, but not all retailers are, so the lack of consistency could end up causing some hassle.

Love the shoe, however, after just owning these and only wearing them for two summers the cork is crumbling and splitting where the ball of the foot bends. I expected more from a sandal in this price range! I take very good care of my shoes, I have protected them in every way the manufacturer requests, sealing the cork regularly. Very disappointed. I spend far too much money on shoes for this to happen.

Live and learn the non leather do not last as long as the leather ones. Tried the non leather as I liked the bronze colored and also the silver, but have always gotten leather in the past. The toe strap has just broken on the bronze colored one rendering them useless. Granted they've lasted two years but my other Birks that have always been leather have never broken or 'worn' through. Also I use the cork life on them so take good care. I literally put them on one day and poof...the big toe strap was broken off right at the base. Will always go with the leather from now on again, even though I know they do this to get some cuter colors....not worth them only lasting half the life at best.

The birkoflor( or whatever the non leather material is) , is not good in my opinion. I thought I'd give it a try and determined it is not for me. It's a shame as the Mayari style is cute. I own regular Birks in oiled leather and they have held up for years. The leather was never rigid and softened over time as leather does. This material is ruff and nothing like leather, I do not care for it and will never order Birks made of this again. Reading the reviews about this material breaking away at the toe does not surprise me now that I have felt it. I'm sticking with the original Birks from now on, these are way to expensive to feel and act like a cheap vinyl.

I so wanted to like these, but they felt too tight in between my big toe of my size 9 feet. I knew there was no way these were getting broke in without some significant discomfort and blisters, so I had to send back. The 40’s were too big, the 39 is too small. My best, true Birk size is 40N, but this size can be hard to come by!

I don't know if this is typical with Birkenstock or with the Birko-flor material, but I was shocked by how hard the entire shoe was. Both the foot bed and the toe straps were very hard, to the point that it almost felt "sharp" and was digging into the webbing between my toes. You would think a sandal this flat and casual looking would make up in comfort what it lacks in sexiness! Sadly, they're going back.

I wear a 7.5, sometimes an 8. The 7-7.5 was at least a half size too big. I liked them otherwise. Will order smaller size.

A size 36 is not equivalent to a 5 it’s definitely a size 6.

I think for the price they are not the most comfortable sandal. The sole fits stiff and they have no cushion for the heel. I returned this item.

I love these... However like one of the other reviews it's my third pair due to broken toe loop. First pair lasted one year. 2nd pair lasted 3 months. I ordered a leather version this time to see if it makes a difference. I was able to return them to zappos. But I also let Birkenstock know and they said it wasn't their fault since they don't know how people wear them. However. I have heard this same complaint over and over. Birkenstock needs to research the development of this shoe.

I've never had a pair of Birks, but in my quest for a summer slip on with my essential need for good arch support, I gave these a try mainly because I learned they come in a narrow width. I'm usually a size 7.5 M, and the length & width of this size 38N was perfect. However- the "support ridge" on the outside edge (across from the arch support) felt very awkward and uncomfortable. Back they go.

I loved these shoes! I purchased them March 2018. I wore them last summer and began to wear them this summer, but sadly the toe broke :( I am so sad. I had always heard great things about Birkenstock longevity and quality. Unfortunately, it appears I got a bum shoe. I expected more than 5 months of wear. The style is great, and comfort is amazing...now if they just lasted longer.

Love these. However, mine were clearly defective. I ordered the tobacco color. The strap around the toe was the correct tobacco color, but the remaining straps were the dark brown havana color. I would have kept them if they were the correct color and I was nervous to reorder.

Not soft. Would require break in of straps. Like the suede ones better.
