The shoes are comfortable, and I feel good wearing them all day. Definitely can feel them working your leg muscles. I found them to be a bit uncomfortable using them as WALKING shoes, though. Tried a few times going for a fast walk, and they just were not that comfortable.

These shoes are great walking shoes. I can go all day long and my feet are very happy! I would recommend them for anyone that is planning to travel and looking for a comfortable walking shoe. The shoe is not sleek looking but if comfort is more important than style, this is the pair of shoes to buy.

Took me about a day to get comfortable in these shoes, but once I was through the first day, I loved them. The wide toe box is fantastic – I’ve never understood why women’s shoes tend to crunch the toes. I have tons of room for my toes in this pair of shoes, and it’s great.

The Earth Exer-Walk shoe is very comfortable. I have a wide foot and have lived in Dansko clogs for years, but wanted to try an exercise shoe that didn’t cost a lot. This shoe works for me and I have noticed more tone in my legs and butt as well as muscle soreness that you get after working out.

The customer service rep at Earth said these are midway between the Glide and the Kinetic in terms of support for very active sport activity. This look very boat-ish compared to the Glide, and they are heavier.

These look like regular shoes on outside, but true to Earth philosophy there is a tilting down of the heel in the back end of the shoe. So it ends up sort of a lump under the arch, very uncomfortable. It would be better if it was a straight line down in back. Also they felt really short, and don't come in widths.

I really wanted to keep this shoe as I love Earth shoes. The back ankle part is too high up & rubbed too much when I walked . My husband said they looked like man shoes but I totally disagree. I go for comfort not style as I get older. I work 12 hours a day in a hospital & am on my feet 90% of the day.

If you don't have much of an arch (flat footed) keep looking. I hoped they would provide the arch support needed. I wore them once on a walk and never again. Plus the back is up too high and gave me a blister.

I really wanted these shoes to live up to all the good reviews, but they didn't. I have a wide foot and, although I ordered the shoe in wide, it was very tight. I bought two pairs, so I really attempted to break in one pair. The snugness minimized a little with wear, but it still hurt my toes. I have a very short stride and when I walk fast, I have a hard heel strike. My foot was very sore after about 1/2 mile with a brisk walk. If I strolled, it was fine. I guess if you have normal width feet and a smooth stride, these shoes will be great. But for me, they're just a disappointment.

I was really hoping these were as comfortable a other reviewers noted. But there is a definite flaw, the outside by small toe rubs my foot the wrong way.

After reading all the positive reviews, I was so disappointed to find that the inside of the tongue hurt the top of my foot and was extremely uncomfortable. I just couldn\'t get it to lie in a way that would be tolerable, so reluctantly, I am sending them back.

Stiff, hard & hot. I love Earth shoes but these were not to my liking. I did order my usual size 10 and found the length to be okay; they're a bit narrow for my really wide feet but many Earth shoes are so I'd say the width is standard. Just not for me.

I\'ve been wearing Earth shoes for several years and love them. My podiatrist actually recommended them to me after surgery for Morton\'s Neuroma. The Exer-Walk is the first Earth shoe that I had to break in. The wide toe box is nice but it still pinched the top of my foot. I used wooden shoe stretchers at night for a couple of weeks. Also the insole is thin and hard - not like the cushiony insoles normally found in Earth sneakers.\r\n\r\nI\'ve had them for a month now, wearing them several times a week. I\'ll keep them but I\'ll also replace the insole. Other styles of Earth sneakers are fabulous but I wouldn\'t buy another pair of Exer-Walks.

I got the Exer-Walks to replace a pair of Earth Premiers that had seen better days. If I had it to do over, I'd simply get a second pair of Premiers. The Exer-Walks are light, but I feel cloddy in them. This has never happened with the Premiers. One thing that I do like about the Exer-Walks is that the holes for laces seem to have more friction than other shoes I've worn. The result is that laces stay nice and snug.

Two words: Achilles tendinitis. I am a dog walker, and usually walk 4 - 6 miles five days a week. I got these in October 2010. They are ugly as sin (I felt like Frankenstein in them) but a friend recommended them as I had recently broken a toe and she said they were good for that. They're very comfortable and since they were, for me, "work shoes," I forgave the hideousness. Six months later - April 2011 - I noticed my left Achilles tendon was starting to feel sore all the time. I read up on Achilles tendinitis and recognized all the symptoms. The causes, they said, could range from overuse to weak calves to not stretching. These are all plausible except that I've been a dog walker for two years now, and it seemed odd that this issue was suddenly coming up. Then suddenly it occurred to me: could it be my shoes? I switched to different shoes on Monday. It's now Thursday, and my tendon is hardly sore anymore at all. I Googled "negative heel achilles tendon" and boy are there a lot of articles on the subject - including some on ruptured Achilles tendons. I'm glad I figured out the issue before it came to that! In short, these shoes are probably great for the occasional stroll or to make walking on a broken toe easier. But I would not advise them for everyday wear, and am in fact going to donate mine.

The ankle pinches me terribly, and despite a lot of work I could not get them to break in and stop giving me blisters on my ankles. I'm going back to the Earth Ambition, which served me very well. I bought these because they were cheaper, and I regret it.

got these for nursing, and I am in a world of pain after just 6 to 8 hours (out of a 12 hour shift). I am convinced that the Negative Heel is just a gimmick that is not based in human evolution. It just 'sounds like it makes sense'. We are not meant to heel-strike as severely as these make me. It stretches my normally tight calves throughout the day, but it really messes with my entire posture, especially my hips. If you have any problem with hip pain or heel/knee stability (I have knock knees and over-pronation), then do not these! Go for a well cushioned, stable, normal heel-toe ratio shoe. I ended up being very pleased with my Brooks.

I read in other people's reviews that these had a "wide toe bed," but I have semi-wide feet, so I figured I'd be okay. When I opened the box, I could just tell they were HUGE. They looked like they were 4 sizes too big for me, at least. Tried them on anyway, and they FELT about 2 full sizes too big (even with thick socks). I am normally an 8.5 or 9, and I ordered 8.5s. Moral of the story is these run quite large. Order with care. Mine are going back.

I was disappointed after reading all the reviews to find these shoes are very uncomfortable. They may burn more calories, if you can get very far in them. They put you at an incline which makes you lean back on your heels. The inside was hard and painful. I have worn other shoes that claim to burn more calories and they were not this uncomfortable.

I own 5 pairs of shoes and 2 pairs of boots and I love 6 of the 7 pairs. This pair, however, is terrible. Too long, too stiff. I trip over my own toes. When held up to a different pair of the same size they are 3/4 of an in longer. The leather creases at the toe and bites into the knuckle of my big toe.

I wanted to like these but they are very unattractive in person and have given me tons of blisters, all over the place. On top of my toes, sides of my toes back of my heels. Yikes, I wish I could return these but walking around my house they seemed comfortable a few miles walking in them and it was pure torture. Now I am stuck with a bad looking shoe I can not walk in. I think the material and quality on the inside of the shoe leads to blisters and abrasion. Maybe if you walk for very short distances they are fine but I walk about two to three miles a day and would not recommend to anyone walking longer distances.
