Medium Toe box leads to narrowing along the foot line to the ankle. For truly wide footed folks like me, this just didn't work out.

Love the boots but had to glue all the seams and it still fell apart too quickly. These things do not like rocks.

For the price, I was expecting a much better boot. They look nice. Ankle support is pretty good. Arch support is poor. Not much cushion for the feet. I would not buy another pair.

I typically have problems finding shoes that are narrow. These were not narrow enough for me, even when I wore thick hiking socks.

This is my second pair of these boots after returning the first pair because the waterproofing failed after 6 months. Now 7 months into this pair they are no longer waterproof. Which is a shame because they felt great straight out of the box. They’re not subjected to harsh use, I take my dogs on a daily 3 mile walk. 25% sidewalk the remainder trails. Including fields that get wet or are heavily dew covered in the morning. I wouldn’t think 20 miles a week would do them in. After the waterproofing failed even SnoSeal won’t keep my feet dry. Very disappointed.

I'm going to have to give this pair of boots a 2 just because they failed miserably in waterproofness in under 8 months. They're some of the most comfortable boots I've worn, they had no break-in period: they felt great the moment I put them on. But with the incredible amounts of rain we've been getting in the northeast combined with a daily 3 mile dog walk I got SO tired of coming home with wet feet. This just shouldn't happen with a Goretex lined boot. Zappos is fantastic, I exchanged them for another pair of the same and I'll be updating my review of those after they've gotten some wear. But a big KUDOS to Zappos for customer support.

This is the same size I always use for other hiking shoes through Zappos and always good but these are too tight in the toe area, too narrow. Had to return.

First of all, they are NOT true to size, I wear 11.5 and had to get 12 to fit. However WIDE is still NOT wide. Wearing these boots for a few minutes I'm getting a burning sensation in my toe, which is probably due to limited blood circulation caused by tight fit, they are way too narrow at the top. This is my 2nd try with Lowa boots and that's it, will never buy from them again.

The boots seemed to fit fine but I mile into a hike, my first hike with these boots, I had to turn around and struggle, in pain, back to my car. See the image of my left heel below, 4 days after the hike. There is no padding in the heel part of the boots. There is just rough hard material. I wore very thick socks which have always been enough, but not with these shoes. You would think that very expensive, $245.00, boots like this would be made better. Do not buy these boots they are very poorly made.

says "wide" but not wide enough. I finally went with the "wide" Saloman hiker.

This is a delightfully comfortable light-duty boot. It fit my feet like a supportive slipper. Snug, flexible, comfortable. Zero break-in time...put them on and go. The sole is paper-thin. The lugs wore away at the heel, where they are thin to start with, exposing the padding-not-Vibram "inner-stuff" of the sole. They have died way before they should have, had they been designed a bit better.

I had a wonderful pair of Lowa boots that lasted 8 years. I bought a pair of Lowa Renegades and they were too small, tried to wear them for a day and Lowa would not take them back. Foolishly I tried another pair a size larger. They are the most uncomfortable boots I have ever worn. My feet are in agony after wearing them for an hour. I'm certain that Lowas are no longer made in Italy and their quality is going downhill. I will never buy another pair and will tell my friends not to buy their products.
