The shoes were grayer than what my computer showed. I\'m still very happy with the purchase.

As others have written, these shoes are comfortable right out of the box! The back edge is a little sharp, though, so I wouldn't wear them with ankle socks. Also, I'm thinking of getting black shoelaces for them, since it turned out I wasn't that crazy about the original ones. But I definitely recommend these! (Also, I might try buying a full size smaller than you actually are. They do run big.)

These shoes weigh about as much as tennis shoes, but they feel more like hiking boots when I walk in them. They're super sturdy and very stable (almost too much for me for everyday wear).

This shoe has prominent arch support. It has a very structured foot bed. For me, it was too much arch support, but if you need that, this might be a good shoe. It is more flexible when walking than the Briggs II, and less heavy. Also, this runs small; you will likely need at least a half size larger.

I cannot believe I bought shoes online! All of my life it has been very difficult to get shoes that fit me. And, now I have broken my heel so everything is harder. But, I know that I can rely on Keen for a good shoe that's well made.I love the shoe, but I was expecting something more on the gray side and this one is definitely green. Nothing is perfect, so I'll go with the fit and give a bit on the color.

Very comfortable shoe. It takes a little break in time though. The toe protection is great. I ran over my foot with a lane line reel (swimming) and if I wasn't wearing these shoes I probably would have broken a toe. This color is a little hard to match but Keen does have them in black now. Maybe Zappos will carry those too! Zappos has the best customer service ever!

This is a good basic shoe. Lightweight, mid-range sturdy. Could use a bit more cushioning in the insole and the tongue is very short and sort of digs into my instep when the laces are pulled tight. Keen is an excellent brand and their shoes really can take the beating of the NYC streets on a daily basis. I preferred the Presidio, but this was a good second choice.

Like most Keens, these shoes are very supportive and comfortable. Shoe runs a little large - I got a 1\/2 size smaller than usual. Rough leather finish should wear well - mine still look brand new after several weeks.

Bought these to wear at work in the operating room. Love Keen in general, and these were comfy from the get go. My one beef is I have owned these less than a year, worn them 3 days a week, and one grommet (?) is loose, and the heel collar padding is totally torn up. Not what I would expect from Keen.

I love Keens so I was surprised this one didn't work for me. It seemed to fit fine but it slipped my heel every time I took a step. Both feet.

I really wanted to like these but they rubbed on my ankle bone from the start and just weren't right for my feet. I have Keen sandals that I love but these will have to go back.

I purchased these shoes 6 months ago for work. I wear them on average 3 days a week for 13 hours. I am a dispatcher so I sit at a desk most of my shift. I love the Keen brand and thought these would last longer than other shoes I have purchased. While they are very comfortable, their durability disappoints me. The sole is already ripping apart from the rest of the shoe. I expect much more out of a shoe that I am spending this much on. You should get more than 6 months out of them! Very disappointed!

I bought a pair of these to fit my custom inserts. They were moderately comfy but clunky to wear. The bad thing is that the stitching came apart only a few weeks after getting them and I had to get them fixed, which took forever! Definitely NOT worth the price I paid for them!

I can see why people love Keens; the toe box is wonderfully roomy and comfy, and they don't hurt my bunions. But oh my gosh -- they are even less attractive in person than in the photo. And I could understand other reviewers' complaints that the tongue is too stiff & long -- when I tried them on it kind of dug into the front of my leg. I'm going with a cuter and equally comfy (although not as roomy in the toes) GoLite model.

I bought these with the intention of using them for walking a full day. They are extremely stiff and have no give at all. The heel also slips, although the size is correct. I have to return them because I foresee many blisters and rubbed ankles in the future.

I love Keen shoes and have never been a bit disappointed with any of the ones I have bought and then worn for years. However, this pair I am returning after trying on because they feel stiff, they rub on my ankles, the toe is too wide (I have a wide foot which is one of the reasons I like Keens), the look is too boxy and they don't seem as well made as the other Keens I have. I won't give up Keens but the Toyah (at least this particular pair) is a disappointment.

These are about a 1/2 size too short for me. The bothersome thing is the long tongue as others have mentioned. Will be sending back. Seem to have a lot of cushion and support though.

Darn -- I'd hoped these would work. I skim/read most of the 300+ reviews. I've had Keens before and they fit me. But I'm sending these back. The heel isn't secure; in fact there was space for a couple of fingers behind my left heel; my shorter foot. I'm a 4.5 W who wears 5s successfully with Spenco inserts and orthotics; I've got bunions and now ankle tendonitis, and finding shoes to work for me is very frustrating at times. The Toyah is cute and solid, but it doesn't give me the ankle support I need, so it's going back. Plus it is extremely stiff near the top of the shoe where it ties -- ouch! Thank you, Zappos, for ensuring that at least I have shoes! Fewer shoe companies are carrying 5s, so I'm grateful to have some options. If it weren't for Zappos I might be going around barefoot! :)

The Keen Toyah is a very well-made, good-looking and rugged shoe. The oiled leather is very resistant to mess: I had to rinse sandy grit out of this shoe when I was traveling -- it was all wet after that -- and the shoe looked great after air drying. I purchased it after owning a Keen mule (no longer available) that has become my all-time favorite everyday errand shoe. Unfortunately, the last (footbed structure) is not the same: even with my orthotics with the most arch support, the Toyah is not comfortable for my foot. My podiatrist looked at my two pair of Keens and said that the Toyah doesn't have as much curvature in the footbed / it doesn't provide as much rolling motion / is flatter. This shoe may be great for many, but if you need arch support and benefit from shoes that encourage a rolling motion of the foot, the Toyah is not for you.

I have a narrower foot and heel and this shoe fit relatively true to size lengthwise but a teeny bit too wide for me. The underneath side of the tongue kept folding over whenever I put the right shoe on, making it very uncomfortable. It occurred too far towards the toe box to be able to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, I have to send it back.

These are going back, I am very sad to say. My current pair (now wearing out the sole only) of Keen shoes were instant comfort from the moment I put them on. The changes they have made in the cut were immediately uncomfortable. The cut under ankle bone is too high as others have mentioned. Even the laces are much cheaper looking. I am still using the oniginals in my current pair with no wear showing!

I loved the look of this shoe. But the tongue was really stiff and rubbed the front of my lower ankle. (Actually caused a bruise by the end of the day.)

I've had several pairs of Keens over the years. I've noticed that some styles run small, some are about right. This style, Toyah, that I just purchased falls into the category of the style that runs small. For me, there's a catch-22. I suffer from gout, and right now one foot is still a bit swollen (it's only in one foot thank heavens). So, my solution is to keep the size I originally purchased (a 7.5), and I am buying another pair in a size 8 for my swollen foot. Otherwise, these are a great pair of shoes, as I've come to expect nothing less from Keen. I love the excellent arch support, the toe box is a bit snug but not entirely uncomfortable. I think the larger size will be perfect. If I buy a pair of shoes from Zappos on a weekday before 1:00pm (PST), the shoes arrive the next day before the close of the business day, so that's a great reason to buy from Zappos. Another plus is to read the reviews before you buy. It can be the difference between buying a pair of shoes that doesn't fit and you have to return them (which takes time) or buying a shoe that does fit because a review said that the shoe runs large or small. So, thank you to all of you out there that write honest reviews for future customers. It does not go unnoticed.

Loved the look of this shoe in the box, but not so much on my feet. I'll be wearing walking shoes primarily in city settings, and this looked too outdoorsy for me. The fit was roomy in the toe box, but the back rubbed at my heel and the overall feel was rather stiff.

I bought these for a trip to London because I thought they were the most stylish and subtle option of the waterproof Keens. However, I didn't end up wearing them very much. They don't have that immediate "broken in" feeling of a lot of Keens, so they feel clunky to wear. A bigger deal to me, though, was that they don't seem to cut low enough on the heel and ankle. I've never tried on a pair that had that issue, and though it never gave me blisters, it felt weird. The main reason I only wore these twice on my vacation, though, was that something about them made my feet and ankles swell like crazy. Once I switched to my athletic sandals and regular sneakers, the swelling stopped. The nice thing about these is that they really do have a substantial arch. I have a hard time finding shoes with arch supports as good as these -- even most Keens don't have great arches -- which is why I bought them. The waterproofing works nicely for when you're caught in a downpour or something. And they do look cute: a little less noticeably "hiking shoe" for when you're trying to be a little more subtle on a European vacation.
