Very comfortable and look nice. My only complaint is that, as others have undoubtedly said, the tongue is quite squeaky and that does not go away.

I have been wearing Sambas for many years. I wear jeans and Sambas 90 percent of the time. I have always appreciated the quality of the product. I will never order another pair on line. When compared to the old pair of sambas that I am still wearing and this new pair from Zappos was smaller, cheaper, poor quality, and very uncomfortable. I was expecting an identical product and was so disappointed. I will try going back to purchasing from Academy to see if the problem is with Zappos, or if Adidas has outsourced their manufacturing and something else that I have come to depend on in life. It now leaves me disappointed.

I've used these shoes for almost 5 months now and the squeaky right shoe did eventually stop. It took awhile, but it's completely gone now. I use them pretty rigorously though, Crossfit, 5K, etc. I also love that I can wear them out after my workout!

It's a great shoe. Make sure you know your Adidas size though as it differs from other brands. Zappos delivery was on time without any problems.

I was seriously disappointed with the new design of these Sambas. They have a plastic tongue which squeaks loudly, and according to other reviews I've read this doesn't go away with wear so I am going to return them. I don't know how Adidas could have overlooked this design flaw. Other smaller detail changes are annoying as well: the heel rises too far up so it is uncomfortable on the Achilles in no-show socks, and the laces are far too long. The last pair I had owned was the Samba K's which have a leather tongue, and were so comfortable that I wore them until they fell apart (and were noiseless). Unfortunately, that model has been discontinued.

They look and feel great, but have a squeaky tongue! Returned them. I'll wait 'til Adidas fixes the problem.

Love the shoe. Lighter weight than the other Sambas and a little lower cut around the ankles which is nice. Very comfortable.

These are not the original design. Apparently there is another model that Zappos does not sell that has the leather tongue and is not as plasticity and squeaky.

To the people who talk about these shoes 'squeaking': the shoes squeak because they are new and made out of leather. It took about 5 or 6 days for the shoes to stop making noise - I walk 1-2 miles a day. Now they are great and I love them!

These shoes squeak, badly! It is really annoying. The older ones never did this but these new ones do and it's really embarrassing. If I had know this before hand, I would not have bought them.

I think these shoes are narrow, stiff, and not all that comfortable. Also, they run small, so go up a half size.

As stated on at least one other review, the tongue is perforated and plasticky rather than flexible, and squeaks. This is possible to overlook, so my only significant issue is that the black rubber is very, very slippery as opposed to the "gum" sole of the original style. This is mostly an issue in a city where it rains 158 days a year. Next time, I'll stick with the classics, but these will certainly serve their purpose.

I've worn Samba's as my primary casual shoe for about 10 years, but only recently bought the Samba Leather for the first time (as opposed to the Classic). Much more comfortable thanks to the shorter tongue. Oddly, they do run slightly smaller and an 11.5 is right for me in the Classic, but it borders on too small for the leather.

I bought these for my son. Size runs true. Not clunky looking. Looks great with shorts. He loves them!

They squeak when you walk due to the upper tongue rubbing against the laces and the tongue slides down the outside (no slots on the tongue to insert the laces through).

These shoes are pretty awesome, this is my second pair of Sambas and I'm totally satisfied with both pairs. My first pair lasted for about 2 years of daily long-boarding before I wore a hole in the sole, and I'm hoping to get the same kind of mileage out of this pair. I love how these are all blacked out, the toe fits perfectly into chain-link fence, and you can totally sneak around quietly in these, they're like modern ninja shoes! They definitely have to be broken in though, if you're an active person it won't take very long before these feel like a second skin.

I wear these shoes as business casual attire and love them. My only initial complaint was that they squeak horribly out of the box. A little lotion rubbed into the top of the tongues silenced them easily.

I just bought a pair of these and am pretty disappointed. I love the style (I bought my first pair of Sambas in high school in the early '80s!) but they are very uncomfortable. I've been wearing them for a couple of days now, and the left shoe is starting to really hurt the inside of my left foot, right above the arch. It feels as if something is rubbing or digging into my skin, right through my sock. I can't feel anything on the inside of the shoe that could be causing it, but I can't deny that it's happening. They also squeak pretty loudly when I walk and the tongue slides down the outside (no slots on the tongue to insert the laces through). They fit pretty true to size but I can't see myself wearing these anywhere where I would need to do a lot of walking. I'm sure I would get blisters on the insides of my feet and the squeaking would drive me crazy. Will be returning them.

This version of the famous Samba line seemed to run about 1/2 size small for me. Took and 11 instead of a 10 1/2. I even have old Samba shoes in size 10. Love the black on black. Would love to see this shoe with red stripes!

This shoe will be fine. It's leather, so it's going to stretch. It's tight in the toe box and the laces are a little short right now, but it's already stretching out. And they squeak. A lot. But that will stop as well, once they're worn in. They're like Levis. The more you wear them, the better they feel.

Well I just got these and they were just was I was looking for - beginner running sneakers for someone who runs short distance only and who doesn't want to spend over $100 on running shoes (which is what all my hardcore runner friends insist one must do). These shoes are comfortable, have decent support, seem to be well made and look good. As for the style, they do look more like sneakers than they are fashionable, but still have a simple design and are not ugly. These were the replacements for the Puma Benecios that I returned. To me the Pumas were more stylish in appearance and priced less but when I got them I couldn't believe how badly they fit my feet and how little support they had - none! They were so uncomfortable. I must say that I do have narrow feet and the Adidas do seem very narrow, which is great for me but not for all. They also have a pretty high arch insert, which may not be right for everyone. They are comfortable in how they fit but have a hard, sturdy feel, not like walking on cushions. Overall I am very happy with them for the price.

Love these shoes! They do squeak, but most of the time you can't even hear it because of all the other noises around.

I had a pair of Sambas once. They were great - nice arch support and fit true to size. I ordered these to replace them. They were completely flat on the inside and significantly bigger than my last pair. I am quite disappointed with the sizing and design changes. Luckily, Zappos is a great company with a great return policy!

Being a Samba (Millennium ) wearer for many years, these sneakers are just not up to par. I don't know how they can state "full grain leather upper" when the shoes are obviously made of some cheap plastic material that 'squeaks' when you walk. Unfortunately, I did wear these around for the day and they do show signs of wear so Zappos probably wont refund my money if I were to return them. Good news is one of the reviewers was right and if you put some scotch tape on the tongue the squeaking will go away. Hindsight, I should have spent the extra on the Marathon 10's - similar look, way more comfortable.

My teenage son loves his new shoes. Says they are very comfortable. After two weeks they look even better... As always, great service from Zappos!
