I like these, have been wearing them a long time for casual wear. Poor quality/size control. I ordered size 9 1/2 to replace 9's that were a little snug. The new 9 1/2's are smaller than the old 9's.

These shoes are terrible and Adidas should take them off the market immediately. Sure, they look nice and are comfortable, but they constantly squeak. As others have mentioned, you can rub lotion on the tongue and the squeaking stops, but it's only temporary. You will have to constantly reapply lotion. Who wants to do that? I've worn them almost every day for 6 months, and the squeaking hasn't stopped. Suitable shoes for a clown. I would suggest getting the version with the fold over tongue. For some reason, these don't have the squeaking issue.

Incredibly squeaky like the previous reviews have stated but for me its starting to die down after a few weeks of wear. Also I've noticed tying the laces up to the mid-hole pretty much nullifies all the noise (at least in my case). All in all I like them and hopefully the noise goes away in future makes.

GREAT shoe. Wearing them now. The day I got them, I wore them to Great America, no pain, no sore feet!! I would recomend to anyone. And they look awesome!

Pros: Stylish shoe, good construction. Cons: The shoe tongue and parts of the interior are both made of leather and are always in contact. This produces a constant (and loud) squeaking sound that hasn't gone away despite a couple of weeks of wear. I've even tried to sand and file the leather to roughen it and make it less squeaky, but without success. The second major con is that the back of the shoe is higher than most socks, so it rubs against my Achilles and chafes my skin. Overall: I would not recommend this shoe until they fix the design flaw that leads to extreme squeaking.

Nice shoes, quite comfy. Squeaky at first but still great. Different colored laces are sweet with these!

My 5th grade son loves these shoes. They are quite durable and comfortable. My son says he has to break them in by wearing a few times, then they are great.

Love this shoe. I've traveled through most of Europe and SE Asia with a pair and they are sturdy and stylish. Semi-water proof but don't try and walk through a monsoon. Very bummed I can't find them in all black leather anymore.

These shoes are very comfortable. They run true to size, in my opinion, and they are stylish. I get compliments all the time since they are classics. I did encounter the squeaky noise from the tongue rubbing on the inner leather of the shoe. As recommended by others, just rub some lotion on the tongue and that takes care of it.

Very nice looking shoe. However it is very stiff and uncomfortable when worn for long periods of time.

This is one of the nicest pairs of Adidas that I own. And I have a few. I like the fact that they are all leather besides the usual suede parts on other Sambas. The fit is perfect.

Decent shoe for sure. The squeaking can get really annoying. I tried to wipe the top of the tongue down which helps temporarily, but I'm still looking for a real solution. The look is great though.

Great pair of shoes!! Excellent quality. Versatile, can be worn casually or semi professionally. Absolutely love them!!!!!

Purchased for my son. This is his 2nd pair and he states that they fit like his old ones.

Shame on me for not heeding the warning of those who said not to buy these because of the squeak. I have worn these for 3 weeks and still the squeaking is intolerable! I am embarrassed to wear them anywhere quiet. When I wear them in my house my cats run and hide! It's too bad it takes weeks of wearing to realize what a bummer these shoes are because now they have been worn and can't be returned.

These shoes rubbed the back of my heel raw. Huge blisters. Cannot wear them.

We bought these shoes for my husband and he loves them! He gets tons of compliments on them and has himself remarked on how comfortable they are. I have a feeling we'll be buying these again when his finally go to the shoe graveyard.

Classic European style. I've seen them on Vespa-riding university students and young professionals. Along with this "classic" style, though, you don't get some of the perks of modern shoes, like cushion or arch support. Toe-box was a little narrower than I'm used to from newer Adidas styles as well. But, boy, they sure look good.

These rock! These are the second pair of Samba's my 12 year old daughter has had. She loved the first pair and had them for years. Comfortable, durable and good indoor soccer shoes too. They didn't wear out, her feel grew too big and she had to have another pair. Great value.

I was fairly warned- these shoes squeak. It's fine if you're outside but inside an office or building you could definitely hear it. It's going away a tad but something to be aware of. Otherwise, they feel great although I personally prefer my Gazelles.

True to size, fits a narrow foot well. I use for weightlifting-squats/leg day. Really stiff shoe, requires break in and I am not there just yet, not quite as comfortable as a pair of old Puma shoes they replaced but will give it some time.

I've been wearing Sambas for 10 years, and like a few of the other reviewers here, I've been waiting forever for Adidas to release the classic black Samba with a normal tongue. Such a no-brainer! Who needs the 5" tongue sticking out? But there is a big problem: the tongue is the same old faux leather as before, but the inside of the shoe is now what appears to be real leather (or, in any case, they are 2 different materials), and when the 2 rub together, they squeak. A lot. Every step: squeak squeak squeak; it's embarrassing. And 3 weeks in the squeak isn't quieting down at all. It's ridiculous! I'm back wearing my old Sambas. It's as if they made the design changes but never tried them out. Oh, there is also the new high heel-back. Why? The old one was fine. The new one is pretty uncomfortable at first, very stiff, and it makes it so you can't slip the shoes on and off easily. (Maybe that's good if you're playing a very high intensity game of soccer, so they don't go flying off.) Overall I am really disappointed. I was so happy Adidas finally fixed the one bug in the Samba, but then they put in 2 more, the Squeak and the Heel, and the squeak could be a dealbreaker. (But I'll try the saddle soap fix first.)

As a few reviews mentioned, the tongue squeaked for a few days but quiets down after some wear. Other than that, they're great!
