Excellent fitting boot! They are comfortable enough to wear shopping all day long. They grip nice to icy conditions. I have very large calves and they fit exactly how a riding boot should fit. I ordered a half size larger and can wear a very heavy sock underneath. Love them and am looking for another pair of Fitzwell boots!! I have an 18 inch calf with skinny jeans on and they zip easy! I do not even use the added elastic stretch at the top! Always wanted a tall boot!!

Fitzwell does it again! This is my third pair of Fitzwell wide calf boots. I love them! Like the other reviews state, the calf is exceptionally large, perfect for a large calf (20") and a legging and even a jean. The fit does run a bit small so order a size larger and wider. I normally wear an 11m or 11w depending. I ordered an 11 1/2w because my normal size was not available, but I am glad I did; they fit great. I would definitely recommend these to a friend. Zappos is the best; great doing business with them.

Zappos is #1. Excellent customer service - consistently unbelievable service. I love this boot. I am 5'11", with big legs. This is the first boot I have bought in a long time that truly fits my leg. No crunching down to zip and then pulling up with a tug. Cute, extremely comfortable, feels like good arch support. I am going to order a pair in black. I am so tickled and so pleased. Masure your calves ladies, if the circumference of the boot says something smaller than what your calf is elieve it. Shorter women, not sure, but I would say give them I try. I went 1/2 size up as always do with boots.

These boots look great with dresses and skirts. My calves are very big, and these are the only I've ever found that fit over them. They are not tight around the calf, but I don't have room to spare either. I haven't found them all that comfortable to walk in. After a day of walking all over in them, I definitely want to take them off. I think they run a little narrow in the foot.

The calf is perfect for my mothers wide legs. However the foot area is a bit snug, even in a wide. But overall a lovely boot that is pretty comfy.

Extra wide calf fit very comfortably. However, the foot fit very tightly. Shoe part was very narrow for a medium.

Received the boots in a couple of days. Boots fit me perfect (size 7); however, the shaft was slightly wider than I expected. Cushioned foot bed is a plus. I got black & they are dark black, no color variations. I just think that for the price, the leather would have been of better quality. Overall, I like them - they are a keeper.

Love these boots. Xwide calf is right on the money. Zappos rules! Had a bad experience in store trying on boots. Asked for suggestions on wide calf boots and the girl said "nobody carries Plus Size boots". Well, Zappos proved her wrong. I typed in xwide calf and not only found a hit, they had several! Now I can try on as many boots as I want to in the privacy of my home and send back anything that doesn't fit with absolutely no hassle. Best shipping and customer service ever!

The only problem that I had with these boots is that they aren't true to size. I originally ordered them in a 7, but had to exchange them for 7.5 instead. But other than that they are great, I ended up buying two pairs of these boots, because they're that wonderful. I can't really comment about the arch support because I have flat feet. So no matter what my feet hurt in many types of shoes. But I would definitely recommend this shoe!

Nice wide calf boot. I have a wide foot and wide calf so this boot was a great find for me. I am also short so I appreciate the shorter shaft. I am very happy that Fitzwell makes different sizes. My feet are very wide so I should have gone for the ww if I wanted to accommodate thick socks. I personally didn't mind the pebble look on the leather since I was not looking for a shiny boot. The ankle area was also fine on me and didn't look wide. It's a nicely styled/practical boot to pair with dresses in the fall.

Like the look of this boot. I ordered the WW and found it just wide enough for my 8W foot. Am returning this because the heel area felt hard to the bottom of my foot. Beautiful boot.. wish it worked for me.

Though I feel these boots are a bit overpriced, I'm glad I kept them. When you have a 17 inch calf your options are limited. I love that I can wear them with skirts, dresses, and pants. I was disappointed by the lack of arch support. I work in retail so I'm standing on my feet 8 hours a day. For the price I was hoping for a better quality sole and heel, but like I said us extra wide-calf girls have limited options.

At last! These are the only boots that I have ever been able to zip up my 16.5 inch calves with no tugging and pulling. They zipped up no problem and there is actually a little extra room. In the end, I did not end up choosing these boots for a couple of reasons. 1) the material is a pebble like leather and I prefer a smoother look. 2) Actually the fact that the boots were so wide at the top made them look unflattering on me with the extra gapping. I ended up choosing a boot that was tighter in the ankle and fit a little more snug at top to give a more tailored look. If you want a comfortable boot with lots of room at the top for your calves, this would be a good choice.

I am not sure who is saying that these boots are comfortable because they are not. The foot part is too narrow and it is cutting the circulation off in my pinky toe. They most definitely do not fit around my calf comfortably. I will be sending them back right away.

I have an 18" calf, and these were way too big in the calf, about 2-3 inches too big. I ended up exchanging them for the regular wide calf, and those fit great! I wear about a 10 wide, FYI.

I have wide calves, about 18 inches and these were roomy. I returned them because with the stretch they'd be too big.

Somehow I missed all the previous reviews about how wide this boot is, and did purchase them almost out of desperation because it seemed like every other wide calf boot I like on this website is sold out in my size (10.5-11). The boot is beautiful, but I did agree that the calf is huge. I guess it's a style but I was like swimming in them. The 18" circumference measurement doesn't seem accurate. This makes me wonder if other boots are wider than portrayed by the measurement... As always Zappos has amazing service so I'll just return and try again.

The calf is huge - around 22" on a size 11m. Very tight across the top of my foot. Another pair to go back.

They seem super comfortable but are quite snug in the ankle and foot. I wear a 9.5 to 10 and have 18.5" calves. The shaft of this boot was actually a little loose and with the slim ankle and foot it made my calves look even larger. I bought these in 9.5 and need at least a 10. I'd say go up at least a half size in this style or try the wide width if your feet are the least bit wide. They seem like quality boots and I'm sad to return them.

This is too wide, even for me. I have to return these as they gape at the top, even though I have big legs, these are too big. Also didn't like the look of the pebble leather. I continue my search for some good, wide calf boots.

While these boots fit my calf (with room to spare!), there is no way that it is an 8 wide. It is way too small. I have another pair of Fitzwell\'s 8 wide that fit just fine, but not these. Sadly, I will have to send them back and see if the 8WW fits any better. I would suggest ordering a size wider than you normally do.

I ordered this boot 1/2 size larger to accommodate my EE feet, but it was still way too tight. Maybe a D could wear it, but if you are extra wide like I am, I wouldn't bother trying this boot. Too bad - it's a nice-looking boot!

These are huge around the calf - much bigger than noted on the description. Strangely, the shoe itself was really small and uncomfortable. The leather looks cheap, too. They're going back.

These are so not worth the money. The leather looks really, really cheap. Also, I have a 16" calf and these were swimming on me. It’s nice that it came extra wide, but in my case it was too wide. Also, these felt really narrow in the foot.
