I purchased these boots for functionality, not looks. If they had worked out, they would have been great barn muck /rain boots. Shaft height is perfect-I'm 5 8 1/2.I have slender calves & tucking jeans in would have been possible, but a real nuisance for working. They are good looking boots, though! I wear 8 1/2 AA, so ordered an 8M, which generally seems to work for me with boots. 3 problems with the boot, 2 of which might not bother most people, and the last could just have been a flaw in the boot. 1) I have a very high instep & could barely get the boot on. I had to really tug the boot with two hands to get my foot from the shaft into the foot of the boot, and removing the boot was a tussle. 2) uncomfortable footbed-so don't count on wearing these w/out socks 3) interior seam on the side of the foot which flapped apart & was very painful. Perhaps this was a flawed boot? Am going to try a size 9 & see if I can get those on more easily.

I got these in the grey matte. The calf is very narrow, so I had to get a 9.

I love these hunter boots! They are a little narrow in the calves, but they still fit - I do have wide calves. The only thing that bugged me was when I ordered them from Zappos, they showed up all dirty and almost like they had a film all over them. My friend ordered her directly from the Hunter website and when hers showed up, they were beautiful, clean and glossy - like they should be! I rubbed mine with olive oil and they cleaned up perfectly. Just annoyed that I spent $150 on boots that didn't show up in pristine condition.

I've been wanting hunter boots forever and finally got them as a Christmas gift! I'm so excited to wear them all spring long. The color is very nice (I got gray), the fit seems comfortable, and the height is good.

I ordered the beautiful Military Red Hunter Original Gloss and received the Original Tall. The issue would be found in both so I am sending them back. They hit me right at the back of my knee and the rubber feels like it would definitely chafe after walking a few blocks. I am 5'2" with 15" calves and I ordered a size 8. I generally take a size 7.5. They are gorgeous so it's a shame!

I bought these for a move to a VERY cold climate with winters lasting for 6 months, so I bought them a half size larger to fit large socks inside. With fleece rain boot inserts, I could wear these through the snow and into winters going down to below zero and still felt warm. After wearing for a year, I have seen now that they do change color a bit due to the natural rubber (I ordered mine in a shiny black). This is something Hunter explains how to clean on their website.If you have larger calfs they can be a little tight especially with the thick fleece insert. After wearing for many hours, they do tend to bend a little at the back of the ankle, making it occasionally uncomfortable. But overall they are amazing rain boots, very warm with inserts, and definitely get a lot of compliments.

Let me start by saying that I love the style and practicality of hunter boots. They are narrow and tall, which I love. It's great to be able to dress for the elements without feeling frumpy. I want to add some warnings however - these seem slightly smaller than the size 7s I bought 8 years ago. I am typically a 7.5/8 and always a 38 so I bought the size 7/38 just like I did years ago. The old pair fits perfectly but these are slightly snug. I also tried the 8s but they are huge on me. I wish that Hunters came in half sizes but since they don't I'm sticking with the slightly small pair. As far as color is concerned, I wanted a glossy black pair that I could pull off for work on rainy/snowy days. I do prefer the matte Hunters generally but I am hoping that the gloss will also bloom less than my matte pair. Also worth noting, if you plan to wear these in the winter, take precautions to keep your feet warm. I just bought the boot socks so hopefully that will help keep my feet from freezing when I wear them out in the snow.

I love these boots! They're beautifully glossy, the graphite color is great and they fit my size 9 feet perfectly. Sadly, they didn't fit around my 16" (40mm) calves [insert sad face here], and a wrinkle at the ankle with these boots just doesn't work the way it does with leather... I should have paid closer attention to the description! So I've had to return them. But otherwise they're beautiful.

I am always a 7 or 7 1/2, usually 7 for open toe shoes/sandals and 7 1/2 for shoes and boots. My feet and legs were swimming in the 7s - I returned the 7s and I am keeping the size 6. They are a tad on narrow side but otherwise perfect. Odd sizing.

Sizing is way off. This 19 is supposed to be a 4.5 and I don't think so. It is very small. The fabric's texture and the fact that only one side has velcro will make it very difficult to get your LO's foot in there even if you size up. I love the color, the style, and the arch support and sole look of very good quality and comfort. I may try to go up a size or two.

I love my boots! One thing I noticed is wearing low cut socks with them give your ankles blisters. Other than that i think they're really cute and work great!

This is the third time that I've purchased a pair of Hunter rain boots in the last 10 years. I wish they held up longer than 3 years, but I live in NYC and I'm tough on my shoes. So they're pretty resilient. I do tend to order a half size up so that I can put insoles inside of them for arch support (I have flat feet) or to wear them with thick socks. These really are the best rain boots I've found.

Bought these for my daughter she is normally a size 11 for Nikes and a 10 for other shoes. Got her the size 9 and they fit and she can even wear a little thicker socks. She loves the Red (high gloss) it matches a lot of things and it's a very fun color.

These are insanely cute and practical, but they are a tad snug in the calves and too high on a short-legged girl like me (5'3) - they touch my knees and feel restrictive.

This is my second pair of tall Hunter boots...so it's safe to say that I'm a fan! I have had no problems with water leaking in. The boot itself is moderately thick (I have had thinner rain boots) but requires a warm sock in cooler weather. I do wish the circumference of the top was about a half inch to an inch wider to accommodate the socks and warm clothes....especially since this boot is made to wear over your pants, not under. My calf is on the smaller side, and I would prefer for there to be a little more room between my leg and the boot. I would also like to see the boot itself made in somewhere besides China as products made in China typically lack superior quality...especially for the price.

These are great looking boots that are pretty comfortable - but the first pair I bought was huge and I had to return them and purchase a new pair a full size smaller than my usual size. They slide on just fine. However, they are pretty snug to take off. I do wish that they had a zipper.

Cute boot. But followed advice to order size down if between and it's too small. Hope they have the larger size now!

I absolutely love these boots! I've been contemplating purchasing them for two seasons and finally committed. I normally wear a 7.5, so I ordered the 7 based on reading hundreds of reviews. Unfortunitely, I will be sending them back today. I have never needed to buy wide calf boots as my calf muscles are not large, but these are extremely tight around the calf area. I will be returning and exchanging to see if the 8 will fit any better, but I'm not optimistic they will fit either. I love them so much that I'm crossing my fingers!

I ordered these boots yesterday and received them today! Thank you Zappos for your great delivery service! After reading the reviews I struggled with what size to order. I am a 9 normally so I ordered the military red in a 9. I also ordered the boot sock in a large. When the packages arrived I put the boot sock on and it was a little big (but not too bad) and then I tried the boot. The boot was probably a half size too big and the 8 would have been too small but with the sock...it was perfect! Keeping them both!

Runs very large and I should have paid more attention to the other reviews and ordered a size down. Nice boots, good Navy color, but I think they are a bit too tall and stiff for what I want to do in them which is more gardening type stuff. Am returning them and will look for something different. Good quality boot if you are going for a fashion rubber boot; would work with skirts or tight jeans or leggings on a rainy afternoon.

I love the color of these! I am 5'3" and they come up a bit higher than I would like on my leg, but not so bad that I would return them. I also have thin calves and often have problems finding boots that do not gap, but these look okay...

I generally wear a 6 1/2 in shoes and a 7 in boots. Based on other comments I bought the size 6 which is perfect.

Beautiful color. So pretty. I almost kept it. Unfortunately, I'm 5'4'', 127lbs and these are too tall on me. They also rub on my calfs. Will buy shorter boots.

Boots arrived with no problems. I know people often say get a size up in boots, but I got my usual size and they fit perfectly!

I love the look of these boots. I am usually a 9 and I got an 8 for these and they fit perfect! I will say they keep you dry but are not warm at all. Overall a great boot but will probably need something warmer for next winter.
