Bought the red...great for Atlanta winter rains and have certainly received lots of compliments whenever I wear them. Seem a bit wide and tempted to buy the Expensive Hunter boot socks instead of wearing my heavy wool ski socks that still do not fill the space...but then again...expensive pair of socks....hummm.

Just received these boots from Christmas in the graphite gloss. They aren't too glossy and are a good neutral color. I usually wear a 6.5, got these boots in a 6. With thick socks, they fit pretty well. With thin socks, they are too big. They will be good to wear with skinny jeans or cords and thick socks, but not so good with tights and skirts when commuting. I think going down to a size 5 will be too small, so I'm planning on keeping them.

I read several reviews prior to purchasing these boots. Most buyers said "size down"...so I did. My boots arrived today and they are too small or should I say they are a "perfect fit" without socks. Why would I wear these without socks in the winter? Sadly they must be returned for a 9. I'm an 8 1/2 in all shoes. Also the boots fit tight around my ankles...I'm a size 8 in ladies clothing with average calves. Overall, I really like Hunter boots and plan to return them for a larger size.

I wear an 8½ or 9 in most shoes and these fit perfectly in an 8, even with socks. However, I exchanged these for the adjustable back Hunters because I could not fit my pants in with the boots unless I was wearing leggings. I would advise measuring your calfs before ordering. Mine are not particularly wide, just a little muscular, but I didn't like how tight the original was on me in the calves. I am 5'8", 150 pounds. The adjustable seems to be a good way to go if you do not have stick calfs and want the practicality of fitting your boot cut jeans in your boots.

I ordered both the tall (original) and short glass plum boots. I ordered the short first and they are cute but I thought I might like the taller boot better just because of where the short boot landed up my leg. So I ordered the tall in order to try them and make a decision. The tall boots go pretty high up my leg (I am 5'2") and they were too tight at the very top band unfortunately. I will be returning the tall and keeping the short (I wish there was an in between shaft height). Other than that they are adorable and I am sure they will keep my feet very dry in the rain, I cannot wait to wear them! The color is great!

Size up or size down? I usually wear a 7.5, and essentially gave myself an ulcer toiling over whether to get a size 7 or 8. I eventually went with the 8 in Military Red, knowing my old, yellow, size 7 Chooka boots were really tight with thick socks. Since I've been told my temporary home of Washington DC gets more slushy than snowy, I plan on wearing these babies with the thickest socks on the market. But alas, when they arrived a few days later my feet slipped and slid around when I walked around the house in them with my thick socks. I ordered a new pair in Pillar Box Red and size down and they're perfect! There's just enough wiggle room if my California-girl self decides to double up on socks. The Military Red is noticeably darker and I was looking for a bright red. These fit the bill perfectly. I'm 5'5 and the shaft height is perfect and hits about 1-1.5 inches below the knee for me. They're light as a feather too!

I normally wear a 9 1/2 but bought a 10 based on other reviews. Glad I did - they fit great. A bit hard to walk down stairs with the taller boot (and I have long legs), but super comfortable and warm.

These are excellent rain boots! I love the bright red color. They really spruce up what could be a dull outfit in a rainy or wintery season. They do get the white powder on them, but that was not a major concern. The boots do run big, but if you are trudging through snow or rain, you will want to wear heavy socks, anyway.

These boots are great. It's my first pair and and I walked around the city in them all day and my feet did not hurt. There is arch support which is great. Only negative issues, luckily I have narrow calves, or else these would Not fit well. Also, if you are shorter than 5'4" I would not purchase. They are pretty tall and may cut into the back of your knee.

These boots are very cute. I had a chance to wear them once so far, they were very attention grabbing because they are so glossy. It was what I wanted though. Very tall boot, however, and difficult to take off.

I ordered these boots in both the 8 and 9. I am usually an 8½ (39) which should be the 8 according to Hunter's guide. The foot size seemed correct in the 8, even though I had some trouble sliding my feet in. However, the major problem with these boots is that the calf area is way too tight in both sizes. I am a runner so I have fairly muscular calves, but I think that my calves are in proportion with my foot size! I have had this problem with many different brands of rain boots, too. I will try the Hunter with adjustable back next!

I absolutely love the color! I ordered the Clementine color. The shoe size was spot on, I wear a 6 1/2 and I ordered a 6, the shoe fit was great. The problem was the shaft of the boot. It fit, but it was too tight and after wearing it for a few minutes, it became uncomfortable. I've ordered various Hunter boots and had to return them because either the boot was too big or the shaft was too tight. The Huntress seems to fit me the best. It's just too bad the colors are so limited. I'd like a bright orange in the Huntress. I'll be returning these too.

I purchased these boots in black and absolutely love them, but . . . the belt buckle broke after wearing a few times. Zappos was great and allowed me to return them. Awesome customer service!

These are way too expensive, but I paid this much to get cute rain boots. They are still very dorky and clunky, but they look a lot better than any other rain boots that I have seen. So far they work great! They keep you very dry and are easy to clean when they get dirty.

I should have read the reviews on these because I just got them and they are HUGE on me! I usually wear an 8-8.5, so I ordered an 8 and I could probably wear a 6. I love the color and style and I want to get a size down, but I'm not even sure if it'll be enough, maybe 2 sizes smaller? I felt like I was wearing a size 10!

I actually have to return these beauties because they fit way too snugly on my calves. When I first got them, I immediately tried them on, and they ended up suctioning to my skin. I had a heck of a time getting them off. I didn't even think my calves were that big. I am sad.

Love the look of the Hunter original glass, but it's too tall for me (5'4"), making it awkward to walk. Sending back in exchange for the Huntress gloss, to give it a try.

Love them! I am an 8.5 and have pretty narrow feet. According to Hunter, I should have gotten and 8, but the 8 rubbed on my toe, so I exchanged for the 9. It's a little loose, but I put some thermal foot pads in (bought at a sporting good store), and wear with thick socks, and they are perfect! Keep my feet warm and dry. Only 4 stars because I desperately wish they came in half sizes, and I also wish they had a narrower calf or adjustable option to accommodate skinny legs. As for those of you between gloss and matte, I chose the gloss because (according to several friends), the gloss rubber will eventually 'bloom' and get a little chalky making it look matte, so I figure I'm getting the best of both worlds...glossy for a year or two, then matte until it's time for a new pair. :)

These are the best looking wellies out there, but I wouldn't say they are the most comfortable for all day wear. Two issues in particular for me: First they rub against the front of my calf. Wearing high socks can help with that aspect and in fact I think Zappos has a pair of socks specifically for this purpose although I've not tried them due to the price. Second, they are quite heavy. After a full day of walking around (a couple of miles worth) that can become fairly uncomfortable (for me causes shin splints). Still, I love these boots and they are GREAT for trekking through puddles and piles of snow. I have no idea how I got along without them for as long as I did! Also to note they can get a little grubby/waxy but the Hunter brand cleaner (I have the buffer sponge) works great to get them back to a shiny gloss again. I should note that I have the original version, not the "black gloss" version of the boot and the black gloss may not need the cleaner as much as the original ones.

These are really great, but they really don't fit that big. I wear an 8 in everything, sometimes even a 7.5, but I ordered the 7 since everyone said they run soooo big and they're just a tad too short. So now I have to order the 8 and see how they compare.

The color has a little more pink in it than I expected (expected a bold red since it's called Pillar Box Red). Additionally, I do wish it came in half sizes because the 9 was too short in the toes, and the 10 felt a little bit large. But, I love them nevertheless and, with a pair of heavier socks, they will wear just fine. So, I'm keeping the 10s.

I asked my mom to order the gray boots for my birthday and I was so excited to open the box. Unfortunately they didn't fit which was clinically depressing! I had read plenty of reviews before ordering so I ordered a size down as suggested, which was perfect. The problem was in the calf circumference. I didn't think that I had large calves and have never had a problem with boots before. I barely got them pulled up on my bare leg and my husband had to pull them off of me. So I'm sending them back and ordering the Huntress pair. Hopefully those will work, although they don't come in the cute gray color.

Love them! They run big! I normally wear a 6.5 and bought the 6 which is still roomie but the 5 was too small. people were concerned ab the calf size and I have more than enough room there. I can't imagine ppl's calves not fitting in these boots. great purchase! Would def recommend as a staple piece! :)

I loved this and bought them in my true size of 8. It is a little problematic if you want to tuck your pants in because they will be a bit wrinkled when you get the boots off - but I don't find them too tight. You definitely could not tuck your pants in to these with the wellie socks on though, which is a little disappointing. Overall, they cut a more feminine and polished look than your typical rain boot.
