Shoe fits like a glove. Comfort is amazing. Looks are outstanding. Compliments and looks every time I wear them. Quality is amazing.

My first two pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes date back 8-10 years. When those pairs finally met their end, I was happy to find that the quality of current product exceeds the high marks that made me happy years back. Comfort has improved, the fit is consistent, and it is clear that the brand is working hard to satisfy their customers.

I ordered a pair of the walnut Strands. As soon as I got them I wanted to shine and protect them with the AE walnut shoe polish. The polish revealed the shoes were slightly off color from the supposed walnut. I phoned up customer service and they took care of the shipping back, along with sending me a new pair of shoes. Speedy turnaround time and very happy with my purchase. Thank you Allen Edmonds for not only making a great product, but standing by your customers as well.

This is my second pair of AE shoes. I also have the strandmoks, which are made from the same last and fit perfectly right out of the box. These were tight at the toes initially. It took several hours wearing them with thick socks to make them comfortable, but the end result was well worth it. I bought the oxblood color, which is darker than I expected (can almost be mistaken for black in the right light) but are gorgeous. Extremely high quality that will get compliments from everyone, even if they don't normally care about shoes. Will definitely not be my last pair of AE shoes.

I ordered these in walnut 10 D a few months after I had purchased the Rogue (black) in 10 D. Originally I did exchange my first try at the Rogue in 10.5 D and finding the 201 last way too roomy. The Rogue is still a bit too roomy in the toe box, and the extra width makes them feel just a bit long and loose, but as they were on close out with not a lot of chances to fine tune the fit I am sticking with them , plus if I wear thicker socks the fit is not bad at all. love the look. But, now, I got to slip on a pair of Strands and it is obvious that the guidance given by earlier reviews is spot on for me. The 5 last is a bit narrower in the toe box than the 201, and it brought the fit into line perfectly. No slop side to side, or slipping front to back, and that is fresh out of the box. I am hoping to break them in over the next couple months, but even without spending much time in them, I know this comfort level is only going to improve. Lets not forget the iconic profile of these beauties, either. From the side, in the box, or on my foot, these just make me smile every time I look at them. Hoping to round out my Allen Edmonds collection with a different color from the Strand line before too many months pass. Maybe the oxblood, or the chili......

I own this shoe in walnut, and have the Fransican in both walnut and black, the McAllister in different colors, the Standmok 2.0 in blue suede (beautiful shoe). The Strand is a beautiful shoe, but CAUTION, it does fit tighter than most shoes and I would recommend that you order one size wider than other shoes. I wear a "D" in most shoes and I have to wear an "E" in the Strand. So, there you go, heed my warning and you will absolutely love the beauty and the comfort of this AWESOME SHOE!

With the popularity of brown shoes, I enjoy the versatility of a medium brown color shoe. Thus, I don't understand why AE eliminated the Bourbon color, especially the Strand Bourbon. Please explain.

I purchased the Oxblood strand and I absolutely love them. I have six pairs of AE's and these are hands down the best. I love the looks and the fit.

I bought a pair in black as my third AE purchase (Park Ave in black and McAllister in walnut are my others). I love them all, but these are my favorites. All three fit the same, but the look of the Strand is something special. I can't wait to buy my next pair in Oxblood. I cannot recommend this style highly enough.

I recently bought my first pair of AEs, i originally discovered allen Edmonds because I bought one of their belts and loved the quality. When I first saw the walnut strand cap toe Oxfords I new that one day I would have got them, and not long after I did! I couldn't wait, I had to get them, went I first saw them in real life I noticed that the COLOUR IS A LOT LIGHTER than the image online, but I think they are even nicer.. I was so excited to use them, everything about them is perfect, and you can wear them with so many things. You can dress it up or dress it down and wear even with a pair of dark jeans.. 100% satisfied and a I am sure this won't be my last AE pair of shoes.

After wearing out the heels of another several pairs of my then un-recraftable dress work shoes, I took the advice of a local shoe repairman here in Madison (who showed me his AE shoes that he was wearing- and purchased nearly 45 years ago ) and bought a pair of these along with another pair. Allen Edmonds shoes are the best that I have ever owned, feeling and fitting great from the start and the Strand Cap-Toe is no exception. Eight months later, they still look and feel great and I get compliments often with these, but the customer service and the retail excellence are also why I have purchased three more pairs since. If I had to only own one pair of AE shoes (god forbid), these would be it. The Oxblood finish looks absolutely stunning with a rich cordovan like hue and burnishing. It really makes these shoes stand out in a classy, understated way plus Oxblood goes with everything (blues, grays and browns). The quality and workmanship are excellent and are a great value in today's world of cheaply made shoes. I feel absolutely great when I wear them. Guys, if you don't already own a pair (or two) of Strands, invest in yourself and get this beautiful, timeless and classic shoe.

I can't stop wearing these shoes. Perfect fit, high quality leather, good construction, and a beautiful look. However, the walnut Strands are a LOT lighter in color than shown on the website.

Recently received my Strands in Oxblood and couldn't be happier. The color is amazing! They are also extremely comfortable right from the start.

If it lasts as long as it promises, then the money is well spent. It fits better than any dress shoe I have ever owned, it molds to your feet. I can walk all day without fatigue. Where it to weddings or with jeans - it goes with most everything.

This is my second pair of Strands; my first pair in black is my favorite shoe, so I felt compelled to get a second pair in oxblood. The strand looks absolutely stunning in oxblood; the workmanship and materials are excellent and the fit is spot-on. The color is complex and versatile. These are very comfortable shoes that I get complimented on repeatedly. Jillian at the McLean, Virginia store was extremely knowledgeable about the products, helpful with the sizing and an absolute pleasure to work with. Excellent shoes and excellent customer-service.

These shoes are true works of art. I own a black and a walnut. Everywhere I go wearing the walnut someone stops me to ask about, or comment on, the shoes. Great wear with a suit.

I have many, many pairs of Allen Edmonds, these have become my new favorite.

The shoe is very comfortable, solid construction, and looks fantastic with almost everything. Very happy with my purchase!
