This is a very high quality shoe, and the service I had at the Allen Edmonds store in Denver was excellent. I've never had a dress shoe that fit so well, although it did take some time to break in. I would highly recommend the strand and hope to purchase another pair of Allen Edmonds shoes soon.

Shoes made like shoes made years ago !!! Made in USA ! Made to be reheeled and soled many times again like shoes back in the 40's and 50's when quality meant something ! These shoes are an investment you can be proud of !

Recently purchased my 2nd pair of Allen Edmonds shoes. I had been looking into the Strands for awhile and when they went on sale I was able to buy them. The shoes look and feal great. The break in period was quick, within a day or two they felt amazing. I had a few minor issues with the "roundness" of the sole in the toe of the shoe and on one shoe the back seam was off center. But these were very minor and i am the only one who notices.

I have owned my Strands for over two years and with proper care and maintenance they look just as good as the day I bought them. I plan on getting married in them next summer. With the recrafting option I hope to hand these shoes off to my son.

This is a beautiful shoe. The craftsmanship and the detailing are second to none. I normally don't do shoes with brogue detailing but the way it looked on my foot convinced me to try it. The was mildly comfortable out of the box, but really softened up after a few wears (contrasted to the Park Avenue, which is on the same last but for some reason didn't soften up as quickly). I purchased the shoe in Walnut and the shoe does show scuffs quite easily; however, it quickly gives the look of a well worn shoe (not in a bad way) and keeps its shape remarkably well. I would recommend the Strand to anyone.

I bought my walnut strands back in the winter with the thought of breaking them in indoors before the Chicago weather turned better. These have been a great pair of shoes for me. I have a history of being fairly tough on my shoes and after 6 months of wearing them two-three times/week these still look brand new. The leather is very supportive all around my foot and gives me hours of comfort on my feet all day. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a pair of dress shoes that will last a long time.

I've been wearing these shoes about 2 times per week for about three months and they still looks brand new - granted, I diligently use shoe trees and shine/edge dress when needed. The fit is perfect and I find that I'm more confident the second I put these on.

I own the strand model shoe in both the walnut and black colors. This is a shoe that looks great with a business suit! I often receive compliments from my clients. Make sure you purchase the matching belts as well! As your shoe sole begins to wear down, send to headquarters to Wisconsin and they will make your shoe like new!

I absolutely love this shoe. The Strand was my first "real" dress shoe, and it makes a world of a difference compared to my previous shoes. The made-in-USA quality is evident and I know they'll last me for years to come.

My walnut Strands are probably my most favorite pair of Allen Edmonds shoes. Right out of the box the color is beautiful and warm. The fit and feel is perfect and only gets better with time. I recommend them to everyone!

There is a reason why many men's forums and blogs rate this as one of the best shoes to dress up for weddings (specifically the Walnut Strands), and that is because they are absolutely gorgeous! These are my second pair of Allen Edmonds and is probably my favorite one. I recently got the opportunity to rock them at a cousin's wedding and boy did they attract looks. I am afraid to say I may have even outclassed the groom in footwear!

I recently purchased the Strand in oxblood. It is now my favorite shoe. The color is gorgeous and highly versatile. The design and shape are a perfect blend of elegance and style. Pairs exceptionally well with the Manistee dress belt.

My mother and I went up to the men's shoe store in Shreveport, Louisiana, to see what they had. The owner was a friend of my father's, and he told me that he had just the right shoe. It was an Allen Edmonds, probably this strand cap-toe Oxford. I remember him telling me that my father wouldn't believe that I spent so much money, but that it was on sale and he would give us a good deal. My father was suitably impressed when I got home, and he told me to take care of those shoes, because it would last forever if I did. That was the first time that I understood that Allen Edmonds stood for quality, and that quality costs, but is worth it. Unfortunately, those shoes were lost, but I have been able to replace the. with other quality Allen Edmonds shoes over the years. I have at least six in my closet now, and I continue to cherish my Allen Edmonds. I shine them myself (my father taught me how), and I have had numerous soles replaced. They have been constant companions, and one of the few things that I own that carry a history with them. As for these, Strand Cap Toe oxfords - these are my regular business shoes. I have a lot of client meetings, some contentious, and I think of my clothes as armor that allow me to defend my views and present myself in the best way possible. And these shoes are an essential part of my arsenal. I highly recommend these.

I've wanted these shoes for years, and kept putting off the purchase. I have no idea what I was thinking--they're even better than I expected! The brogue details add a touch of flash, while the closed lacing and cap-toe keeps them formal enough to wear with a suit but casual enough to wear with jeans. Beautifully designed, comfortably (and sturdily!) constructed.

My AE's are absolutely wonderful. The beautiful color and superior quality can not be touched by other shoe company's. The shoes are extremely comfortable. I smile when I put them on.

This shoe wears extremely well from a comfort standpoint. It also has just the right amount of snap to its' styling, not too much detail - just enough to look sophisticated yet understated at the same time...classy.

I would have liked to order the matching belt but it was a 5-6 weeks delivery window where the shoes where 2 days delivery. disappointing. There is a side of the left shoe that the leather is not cut right. It bothers me but since it is inside the shoe and won't easily be apparent I don't mind and kept it but this is why I can't give it a 5 stars across the board.

I have several pair of AE shoes. For my feet the 65 last is the best fit, so I tend to look for shoes in this last. My latest purchase was a pair of Walnut Strands and they have become one of my favorites. This shoe can be dressed up or down and after break-in is quite comfortable. AE is a great shoe company, stick to what you do best!
