I have 4 Allen Edmonds total. These were the higher priced of all my shoes and they are definitely the nicest. I got the brown shoes. They are great because I don't see that color around as much as I see some of the other colors. (although I still do want the other colors (so....I will be looking for them too))

The shoes were a little stiff at first, particularly in the sole, but once they broke in they feel great. I love the distinctive look as well. Get the shoes together with the matching Manistee belt and its a great combo. I look forward to wearing these for a long time.

These strands are really great shoes - sure they are somewhat pricey, but they are a good way to enter the premium range of the market at a still (fairly) reasonable price. The detailing on these is top notch - the colors are gorgeous (I have the bourbon) and they are extremely comfortable. Mine actually felt a bit loose on the heel at first but the salesman in the store promised me that this was correct and after a bit of time they have broken in and now feel perfect.

I'm a very particular guy, I like things done a certain way. I prefer to say 'detail oriented', others may have a different word. I own many a pair of shoes and these are hands down my favorite. The attention to detail is absolutely incredible. I have a hard time finding comfortable, stylish dress shoes because I have wide feet. It's really nice to find a company that makes high quality shoes in any size needed. Normally I need to buy a shoe that is a size bigger in order to accommodate my needs. These fit great, they're comfortable and they are absolutely beautiful!

I love shoes! I work in business casual environment and where dress shoes almost everyday! Traditionally you have to break a pair of shoes in but not a pair of AE Strands! This timeless classic is amazing. Great Look! Great Colors... Love my midnight Blue ! I would recommend this shoe to anyone that has to wear a dress shoe.

I purchased a pair of Strand shoes in Walnut to replace a discontinued style of shoes that I had finally worn out after several recraftings. I feel like every new pair of Allen Edmonds shoes I buy becomes my favorite pair, and this pair is no exception. I have been a loyal Allen Edmonds customer since I bought my first pair of dress shoes 20 years ago. I never even look at other brands now because the design, quality and customer service at Allen Edmonds have never disappointed this loyal customer.

The shoe definitely has that timeless classic appeal but the look and style is something you have to discern for yourself. Comfort, construction and overall quality is what we should be reviewing here. If you are looking at a pair of Allen Edmonds you probably already know about shoe construction but comfort and quality is something you just have to experience. Buying a pair and taking them for a test run and comparing them to other shoes you have worn is probably the best way to gauge. I have found that if you get the proper size and the proper sole, these shoes are very comfortable right out of the box. Wearing them 4-8 hours a day shouldn't be a problem unless you are overweight and/or have foot issues. I ordered a 13E and the fit is perfect(I'm normally a 13D). I've been wearing them for about 2 months now so I can't give to much to quality just yet, but so far they appear to be a well crafted shoe. KC

People notice when I wear these. They look sharp and go well with a suit. These are NOTyour granddaddy's shoes. Very stylish and contemporary.

You can dress it up or down; it's comfortable; and, most importantly, it's very good looking.

This shoe is well made, looks great, and are very comfortable. I get compliments on my shoes whether I'm at church, work, even in Lowe's. Worth every penny you will not be disappointed.

This is the first ever high-end shoe I purchased and it hasn't disappointed me. Its amazing how much better a shoe feels when its made around the sole; the leather sole literally formed to my foot and now my shoes feel as good as slippers. I bought this shoe last year as my first pair of Allen Edmonds and right away I began receiving compliments; the shoe stands out in a classy way. I have owned my shoes for a year now, wear them all the time and am impressed how well they have held up and continue to perform. The Walnut color goes with most of my suits; I'm thinking a pair of black Allen Edmonds will go well with the rest. Buy these shoes and you're buying great value.

We know the western saying about dying with one's boots on. Well, Allen Edmond's Strand proves it. O.K., we all know how classic and handsome they are, and how many compliments we get wearin' 'em, but it's also how it feels to look down and say to yourself; you are lookin' great, my friend. But here's the great part. If you're new to AE fine shoes, it's like getting new hand made cowboy boots. Break them in, Wear them for a while. And one fine day, you'll put them on, and they will have become "yours". Your feet will slide in with that feeling that they are a part of you. I can't wait 'til they're as worn out as I am, so I can get new ones and start all over again. Re-crafting is fine for my other AE shoes, but these Strands will never leave me -- any of them.

In my humble opinion, the Strand Oxfords are the pinnacle of men's dress shoes. Why buy Italian or anything else, when the best shoes are made here in the USA. I've had my pair for 6 years now (with one new resoling, not through AE though) and they still fit and look great. Still get complements on my shoes regularly. They may be expensive but with proper care they will last 20+ years.

I purchased the Strand in Oxblood. These are awesome shoes with an very high end look. The deep reddish finish looks excellent with both blue and black slacks. The shoes are of the highest quality. The fit, 10.5 E for me, is perfect and the have broken in very nicely after a few wears. I strongly recommend that anyone get fitted for an Allen Edmonds shoe.

The Strand, especially in Walnut, exudes style. It is in my opinion the flagship model of AE despite what multiple US Presidents have worn to their Inaugurations. The Strand pairs nicely with formal or casual wear, from full business suits to jeans and chinos. I purchased the Strand specifically for my Wedding abroad in Italy, and even my Italian wedding photographer, who works mostly in fashion, fell in love with them. That, to me, speaks volumes to their eye-catching style, quality, and craftsmanship.

What a beautiful, comfortable and well-made shoe. This was my first Allen Edmonds shoe and I'm very satisfied. Would highly recommend.

The Strand is my favorite pair of AE shoes. I sized down a half size from my typical shoe size (so 11.5D from 12D), and have worn them enough to require their first recrafting. The leather has softened to a wonderful supple feel and has developed a nice patina.

The Strand in Walnut is a modern classic that has become the third pair of AE's in my collection. Walnut Calf is a rich brown tone that's just right with any tone grey suit. Pairs amazingly well with a Navy suit, and I find them never out of vogue no matter the season. If you have to choose what to add to your shoes, the Strand makes the perfect statement between understanding American heritage and bold design that says that you aren't afraid to lead the pack.

There's a reason the Strand is constantly recommended around the internet. It's a true beauty of a shoe that can be dressed up or down for nearly every occasion. Be sure to half size down and they're ready to go right out of the box. I've never worn a pair of shoes that have felt better from the get go than my Strands.

I just purchased these after christmas, and they are amazing. They look and feel great. I purchased colored laces which really pop when i wear a blue suit. I highly recommend these to anyone!!!!

I picked these up in bourbon a few months ago. They are now easily my favorite shoes for the office. Would highly recommend.

I have 7 pairs of Allen Edmond shoes, and these are my favorites. The styling allows me to go back and forth between business and business casual. Great quality.

Wore these to a wedding and was complimented by many people. Only wore these twice, can't comment on longevity yet.

I constantly receive complements on the looks and style of this particular shoe. The leather is soft and the shoe fits like a glove. I liked this shoe so much, I bought it in 3 different colors. Give this shoe a try and you won't regret.

I have these in Walnut and I think they look great. These are my wife's favorite shoes that I own. A little stiff out of the box, but break in nicely after a few wears. I am a 10D and these fit my foot perfectly. Love the 65 last.
