I was buying this to replace my old pair but they changed the design and the leather. I don't like the new look of either one. I think the shoe looks quite cheap now. Unfortunately I may be stuck trying to find a used pair online or trying to get mine repaired.

I have bought the McAlister Wingtip Oxford three times. The first two pairs were perfect. Their durability and fit were excellent. This last pair has a strange crease in the top of the right shoe that has caused me to stop wearing them. It is extremely painful, and a bruise on the metatarsal muscle has made it difficult to wear any other dress shoes.

I referred this show because I had an important function and wanted to look right. Unfortunately when the shoes arrived I found the tongue of one sewn to the inner arch of the shoe. Completely defective. Had to return the shoes and buy a different brand in a hurry. Very disappointed.

I've wanted a pair for some time. I broke down and purchased a black pair of the McAlistier wingtips about 4 months ago. I wear them to the office a couple times a week and I'm hoping they're still not broken in. They're notably uncomfortable at this point.

Spectacular shoe that wear extremely well if one take good care of the shoes. After the soles wear out, return them for re-crafting and they will wear like a new pair.

Excellent shoe. I get a lot of compliments especially from women. First thing they notice on a man. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars it's not the shell cordavan leather one. If i was younger thats all I would buy. That having been said still much better than all the other crapola out there.

This shoe is beautiful! Straight out of the box you can smell the leather! The only problems I've encounter with this shoe is it's a little noisy. Every step you could hear the new leather Breaking in. Also if you have Ankle bones like me the side of the shoe rest right underneath so it becomes bothersome after a while.

There is no question this is a beautiful shoe. I just wish the same amount of attention to detail was put into the making of the shoe as their was the design. The stitching on mine is very uneven particularly evident when you compare the left and right shoe. Whoever worked on the shoe also had an issue with needle entry and it took off a chunk of the welt. They tried to cover their tracks by filling it in with wax, but that also covered part of the stitching.

I am a repeat customer and already own three pairs of Allen Edmonds and was trying to add another one to the collection. My wife ordered this shoe in black for me and it arrived this afternoon. Opened the package with great anticipation and excitement and was thoroughly and rudely disappointed. I had come across reviews lamenting the poor quality that is plaguing the shoes lately but the experience in the past for me was fine. Defective stitching right on the wing tip, and not just one, but both shoes. This defect would be obvious to even most casual inspection. How did this pair pass ? And if there is such apathetic inspection of such blatant defect, who knows what other flaws hide in the multi-step process of creating a nice pair of shoes. I could not even bring myself try the pair on. Sending it back first thing when the UPS store opens.

I got this one in Merlot + some Saphir polishing and it's a beautiful mix of dress and casual. Looks great with dark jeans, but can wear with a suit as well. It took longer to break in for some reason - maybe it's all the brogue...

The quality is not what it used to be. Very dissapointed. The soles were very sloppy. Not evenly cut out, jagged edges. My husband needed these right away to replace a pair, but they really should be sent back. He's been a customer for twenty years and quality has definitely gone down.

I have been buying Allen Edmond's shoes for 30 years. I have them resold many times, before I ever need a new pair. Eventually I replace, but since I started wearing Allen Edmond's shoes they are the only dress shoes that I buy.

I own two pairs of McAllister shoes, in Merlot and in Walnut. The Merlot by color is one I wear with suits and some more formal looking outfits. Then I started to pair the Walnuts in a less formal setting and realized how truly versatile this shoe was. I now switch them out in casual and all the way up to semi-formal looks. They feel a bit narrower than some other AE styles, but not quite as narrow as the Strand. A great look to dress up a bit more than casual, but not full formal. Looks especially well (to me) with darker colors.

McAllister in dark chili is such a sharp shoe fits great and looks great. Unfortunately I ordered shoe online and comes in and there is a dent/crease in the Vamp near the laces. It was too obvious to ignor, so back they go. I also had to send back a pair of brand new Lidens I bought online... actually had to reorder twice before getting a good pair. Seems like quality is going down hill. Feels like new ownership might be cutting some corners??? Recent MacNeil's I bought where just awful looking calfskin. Almost looked like a vinyl leather. Love AE!...but might be taking a break for awhile see what happens with this new ownership. Just so disappointing.

Do yourself a favor and buys these in walnut and a pair of Exchange Place in black. And then don't worry about dress shoes ever again.
