I ordered the brown in 42; alas, the largest there is! I fit in a 42 waxy clog but the Solitaire was just a little too small. It's a beautiful shoe and felt like it would be comfortable. If you have smaller feet than I, you will have room to order up! The brown is even prettier in person.

These shoes look great, but they are cut a little to low. If you have any toe or bunion issues, this shoe is not for you. The shoe also runs small as far as the width is concerned.

I am on my feet all day and have been looking for a cute, comfortable shoe I could stand and walk in all day. I received many recommendations to try Dansko clogs decided to take the plunge on the Dansko Solitare style. This is my first experience with Dansko Shoes. I wear a 7.5M shoe. This style is about true to size and width. Maybe a bit narrow, but I suppose they might break in after some time. Additionally, I can't figure out where all the 'pillowy softness' everyone raves about is, because it's definitely not in these clogs. The foot bed feels like a block of wood and I even clump along in them as if they were wood. I wore them around inside the house for a few days really hoping for the comfort to begin. There is a tiny heel cushion that will crush down quickly. The shoe leather is hard and sharp at the strap and around the contact point between the upper foot. On the positive side the style is very cute to wear with jeans or casual skirt and leggings. The inside is real leather (hard to find now). However, this shoe is not comfy enough for the money and I can't bear the thought of blisters and sore legs during a break in period. These shoes are not the holy grail of comfort everyone talks about. Dansko should get a spanking for producing a cute shoe with a lousy foot bed! Sorry to send them back Zappos. Your service is fantastic!

I have several pairs of Dansko shoes. I loved the look, style and comfort of these but after only a few months of wear they split through the sole today. So sad.

Shoe slides on foot. I would not recommend this shoe becasue the black wears off quickly and shoes a greyish undertone. Scuffed looking - whereas the original Dansko clogs in black brushed leather do not do that.

Nice looking, comfortable shoe, but very unhappy with them because the toe box scuffs terribly... so much so that it scrapes the color right off. I have patched the toe boxes many times with a black sharpie and shoe polish. As comfortable as Dansko shoes are, I'll never purchase another pair because of the scuffing issue.

I really like these shoes. They seem a bit lighter than the closed back Dansko shoes and not nearly as clunky on the foot. The foot strap did rub a little and as my feet are narrow, I cut a foam cushion strip, stuck it under the strap and they feel fine now. Great arch support and comfortable for all-day wear without socks. Zappos is the best!

I bought the brown in a 42. I tried the 41 but too small. Not near as comfortable as the cabrio that I love, but you do not have that in my size. They are cute as Dansko shoes can be with a skirt.

I am a stylist, so I am on my feet all day. This was my first pair of Dansko shoes, and I have to say I was pleased at first. The size seemed right and the cushioning was fine. Now when I wear them my feet really hurt at the end of the day. I am not giving up on the Dansko brand, I am just going to try a different style.

Not in any way "red”. These shoes are adorable and very comfortable; I did not notice any of the stiffness that other reviewers have mentioned. However, this color, described as red, is actually more of a mahogany color, a reddish brown, but definitely more brown than red. Otherwise, I love them, and might buy a different color for summer.

I ordered these because I have worn several Dansko clogs and loved them. These look great, fit perfectly, but the elastic on the little strap across the instep pinched my foot (even through socks) whenever I took a step. If they moved the elastic a bit, it might help. I was disappointed because these looked and felt great otherwise. As another reviewer said, the blue are so dark they look black.

I am a long-time Dansko addict and wanted a pair of red shoes for fun. I ordered the Solitaire and found that the light-colored lining on the red shoe looked funny when I wore it with dark socks or tights. Also, while I have always worn a 40 in Danskos, in this shoe my foot would slide forward a bit, revealing more of that light-colored lining. I love the shoe, though, so I may order a pair in black.

I bought this shoe with the intent of using it as an all purpose walking/day shoe. When I tried them on and walked in the house, they were fine, but the first time I walked the dog (abut 2-miles) I developed horrible blisters where the box top hit my feet. On subsequent use of the shoes (for around town errands) not only were the blisters exacerbated, but I developed horrible cramping pains in the bones on the top of my feet. I have had much better luck with the J-41 and Keen clogs although they are much cheaper. I am very disappointed to have spent so much on a pair of shoes which are now worthless to me. Based on my experience with these shoes I am extremely reluctant to try another pair of Danskos.

Dansko quality has really gone down hill in the past few years. While these shoes are super cute - I love the way they look with dresses and skirts - I am very unhappy with the quality of the leather. I wore these to work for a few weeks and they got scuffed on the front top of the toe box area of the shoes. The scuffed areas looked like a light gray - not like a normal scuff on black leather. It was as if the leather was peeling away from the shoes. This happened to another pair of Danskos that I purchased last year - the black tooled professional clogs with the paisley type design on the surface. I thought it was just a flaw on that particular style of shoe. Those shoes, now that I have had them for a year, look terrible with big gray spots on the top toe area. Ironically, they look very unprofessional and I no longer feel comfortable wearing them to work. No matter how many times I put black shoe polish on them - after a day or two they are back to gray. And now that is happening with my Dansko Solitaire shoes as well. I am so very disappointed in the way the quality has changed with Dansko shoes. I have a pair of black professional clogs that I purchased in 2002 and the leather on those shoes look so much better than the leather on these and tooled pair from last year - and those shoes are almost 10 years old! Lots of blisters the first few weeks with this style as well. That I can accept because they are cute shoes and are pretty comfortable now. But I am exchanging them for another shoe - I will probably stick with Sanita from here on out (the original makers of Dansko).

These are Dansko, so of course they are comfortable. I won't wear them often, however, because they appear tan in the photo, but they are actually a shade of "seasick" green. It was terribly disappointing. Unless you are looking for that specific shade, I wouldn't bother.

Cute, but not comfortable like I expected for a Dansko shoe. Cute won out over comfort after much thought. I added insoles, and padding in the area where the shoe rubbed a blister. This helps, but still could be better. On the other hand, I live in my old Dansko professional clogs. I'm hoping Sanita will step up their style offerings in time and will switch brands. Zappos rocks for customer service, best customer service on and off the internet.

Dansko Solitaire - Bad. Cut into my skin at front/top, just above where my tender toe cleavage skin is. The top strap also cut into my instep (not as badly as toe area). I had them on for 20 seconds. If I'd worn them for 20 minutes, the top of my feet would have bled. Otherwise, perfect fit for my size 9W (40 Euro). Pretty shoe too, not as "orthopedic" as Dansko's often look. I got the "Chestnut Burnished Veg" color - thinking it was a dark tan - not. It was dark brown. I would have kept them anyway, if the toe/shoebox area (leather top foot encasement) had been a 1/2 inch higher, so that it didn't literally "cut" the top of my feet. I really love the fit of "professional" Dansko's. These Solitaires are much flatter on top, not allowing sufficient room for the height of your (my) foot.

I purchased this shoe and had to return it. The footbed was comfortable to me, but the strap across the top rubbed a blister on my instep on one foot. Therefore, I had to return them. If you have a high instep, beware of that strap. It's painful!
