Stylish and warm, but… While these boots are definitely warm and stylish, I've had the same problem as many others as far as my Achilles being rubbed raw! My skin rubbed off. I've been covering it with bandaids in hopes that the boots just need to be worn in.

I usually wear an 11.5 or 12, so after reading reviews, I ordered an 11. Way wide and still pretty roomy in length. Returned for a 10, which were much better in width, but a bit too short. There was such a huge difference in width between the 10 and the 11 that I would swear Sorrel is using the men’s lasts to make the rubber bottom portion on women’s sizes above a 10. Also pretty stiff around the ankle as others have complained, but didn’t wear them enough to see if it "breaks in". Sad, because it is pretty cute for a taller boot to deal with Minnesota winter weather. Will have to keep looking…

These boots are adorable! Too bad they we're too big. I ordered a size 10 which is what I usually wear, and returned them. I probably would have put up with them being a bit too big, but my foot moved around quite a bit and something up the back of my calf bugged my leg. I'm waiting for more stock so I can get the size 9.

These boots are cute, but the leather piece up the back bends and hits me right in the achilles tendon when I take a step. It\'s uncomfortable, and I found myself taken much shorter steps to minimize the way the back of the boot rubbed against my leg. I\'m sending these back.

The first day I wore these boots, they rubbed the skin off of the back of my ankles, through wool socks! Still healing before I can try the shoes again.

I think these boots are a little too much boot for me, even in Milwaukee. The biggest problem I have with them is the "crunch" at the ankle. If you like to maintain use of your ankles, it requires considerable effort to make them bend, and in doing so you must crunch many layers of fabric and leather to do so. Maybe they break in over time? I'm not risking it, I'll return them while I can, and try again with another boot.

This boot is definitely cute, I can't go anywhere without receiving at least one compliment. However, the boot is not as warm as Sorel claims and is way too wide. They claim the boot is suitable for -25 F temps, but have never experienced temps that low in Chicago and my feet can't stay warm even with thick wool socks. I hate to do it, but I have to return them (sad face).

I loved the look of these boots, but because of my wider calves and flat feet, they were very uncomfortable, cutting into my ankles, leaving bruises. I wouldn\'t recommend them for those who have larger calves or flat feet.\r\n

I love the look of these boots but unfortunately they didn\'t fit quite like described. I thought that I had finally found a stylish snow boot that would fit over my wide calves. The circumference is noted to be 16.50" which is true of the boot itself. However, the insert, which has the faux fur, is much tighter than the actual boot. I took the insert out and they fit great but the whole point of this boot is the cuteness of the fur and the warmth so these won\'t work for me. I wish they would have worked. They will fit great for someone with smaller calves.

I love the way these look online but when I got them in hand, they looked odd. The shaft of the boot is really comfortable but the shoe looks so bulky and round. It looks like they sewed a man's shoe to the suede part of the boot. Additionally, the back of the boot started caving into my ankle which did not feel good at all. I am sending back. Disappointed as I thought they looked so good online.

A botton on the top of the fur on mine, was broken off. For the money I spent on these, I'm not happy about this.

I've had these boots for a couple winters now and the back has ripped out. Now the leak and don't keep my feet warm. Pretty disappointed in these boots. Had high hopes for these and very let down.

Oh my goodness! I don't know how these boots are getting so many good reviews! These are the clunkiest, most hard boots to walk in - ever! They're so unbelievably wide at the toe which makes your foot look twice it's size. To add insult to injury (literally) they gave me the worst blisters on the back of my ankle. The only good thing I have to say is they kept my feet warm, although they were bleeding from the blisters, and they would be stylish if not for the big-foot sized toe box. Note: I was trying to give the boots 2 stars for the style, but my phone won't let me change it. And it wasn't just my boots... everyone I saw that had these same style boots on were awkwardly clunking around.

I have had these boots since December 2010 and they have yet to become comfortable. The lining at the heel where the shoe is inflexible is pilling, causing it to rub against my heels and cause blisters. They are also too clunky and uncomfortable for walking around New York City in the snow. Order a half size down if you dare - or do not order at all. I would never buy them again.

I immediately took these off. I am a size 10 - tall and slender and these were huge on my feet. So bulky and really wide at the end, embarrassingly so. If I were a size 6, it would be cute but this was out of control. Looking for a narrower boot.

I was so disappointed in these shoes! They look very stylish and seemed to be very sturdy for the winter. But they kept rubbing against my ankles to the point where they started bleeding after only two wears. I had to return them.

These boots were much bulkier than expected. My foot fit inside the boot just fine, but it felt like my feet were two sizes larger with the boots on. They didn't feel like they would be comfortable to walk in, they were very stiff and clumsy because the base of the shoe was so large. Finally the color "Nori" is much greener than I expected (the photos online make it look gray, but it's definitely green in person). I returned them.

My mom ordered these for me in the Nori color. I was really excited to get them, thinking they were a dark brown that would go with most of my clothes. These boots are more of an olive shade, and the pics on Zappos are totally misleading with regard to color (no, this is not a blue/black or gold/white dress situation). Both my mom and I assumed these were dark brown. Not sure if I will keep them--they ARE a neutral color and will still go with most winter wardrobe items. But definitely not the color I had wanted.

I'm a 9.5 - 10 and the 10 fit perfect... loved everything about the boot, but based on the picture the Nori boot looks brown to me. It's not even close to brown and more of an army green color. Not at all what I expected... will give the Shale a try.

I wanted to love these boots soooo badly. I expected to have years of great use. Sure, they cut into my shin when I walked, and it was hard clunking around, but they are so cute and warm! They were so warm until the second season of very little use, when I started to get cold, wet toes. Let me tell you, cold, wet toes are not a good idea when weathering a winter in Poland. I was heartbroken. Loved these boots for style, really bummed that I paid so much for one season of wear. I expect more from Sorel. Go back to the drawing board, folks!

I had really high hopes for these boots but I ended up selling them on eBay. They are nicely made, but the sole seemed really thin and they are super heavy. It was hard to drive in them. My feet did not stay warm even with ski socks on. I am normally between a size 7.5 and 8 and I bought and 8. A size 7 may have worked for me. I think these boots would be more of a fashion statement than an actual snow boot.

I hardly buy myself anything so these were a defiant splurge. Ugh, and I am disappointed. They are so heavy that driving with them was impossible, walking with them I felt like I was lifting 20 lbs. I would not recommend these to anyone.

I normally wear an 8-1/2 and bought a 9, as that was the only size available in the color I wanted (bought at end of season,on sale). They were a little too big, which wasn't surprising. But they also just looked huge. I looked like I had man-sized feet. Plus, they felt like I was wearing ski boots, they didn't really bend with my ankle as I walked. Maybe that would change as they get broken in. Other than that they were comfortable though. I did end up sending these back because I thought the size just looked ridiculous. I ended up with the Tofino Cate style (size 8.5) which worked much better for me. They were a lot more narrow than these and seemed like a more normal size for a woman's boot.

Got these boots during a snow storm and they would have come in handy had I been able to get them on my feet. I couldn't get my heel down into the boot at all. Will be returning for a bigger size and see how that works out.

These are super cute, but definitely not for very cold weather! I worked at a weekend long outdoor hockey tournament and my feet stayed dry but were freezing, even though the boots are rated -22°. No way. I had on wool liner socks and hunting socks. The only relief I got was changing boots. Also, there is an inner neoprene piece within the liner the is rather snug and makes the seams of your pants press into your leg. I wore these for 12 hours straight and by the end of the day I had a bruise on each inner ankle from the bend of the boot and the lacing buckle bending inward. Too bad because I have owned other Sorel products. These are for looks, not function. Thankfully, Zappos offered a courtesy return so I will be refunded. Thank you, Zappos!
