This boot is difficult to get on - or off - if you have a high arch like mine. Plus the back of the boot rubs the back of my leg, about halfway up the shaft. I'd never be able to walk in them for any length of time. Very disappointed, because they're super cute but useless for me. Thank goodness for Zappos return policy!

Absolutely adorable and it pained me to put them back in the box to send back to Zappos. I'm not sure how more people didn't write how big these run. I ordered a 9 (my usual size) and my foot was flopping around in these. I wanted to love them, but they came in a shipment that also included a pair of Keen's that fit like a glove and would get me home on a cold, wet Northeastern evening. Support seemed to pail in comparison to the Keen boot as well. Perhaps if I had ordered a size down, I'd feel differently, but I'm back to Keen for the next couple of years.

I just got these last night and was very happy with them at first--very sturdy boots that look like they will be around for a long time. However, I was walking around in them in black sweatpants and when I took them off (having decided to keep them), the fur on the top had shed a bit and was visible on my pants. I tried brushing them off to see if maybe there as just some loose fur on top, but a little bit seemed to come off each time. I'll probably end up keeping them because of the quality, but this was disappointing. To anyone who's had the boots for a while--does this stop happening?

These boots were really stiff and hard to get on. Once I had wiggled, pushed and jammed my foot in, the size was fine, but who wants to do karate just to get on a shoe!? Besides the ankle opening being too narrow for my foot, the liners were hard to get in and out of it. I was so disappointed because they are seriously cute!

After reading everyone's reviews, I thought this boot would be perfect for me. My foot is a little wide, I have a high instep, and my calves are also a little wide (so muscular.. just kidding but maybe not so much). Everyone said they were comfortable even for someone with a little wider foot some even said it was too wide and they just wore bigger socks. Maybe I got a small pair? I had a hard time getting my foot into the boot. When I laced it up, my calf was too big so the fur was just shy of encircling my calf- not a cute look. I'm returning them. I'm definitely disappointed. This boot is not for a person with a high instep and wide calf (maybe perfect for super skinny people who just think their calf is wide).

These boots are gorgeous and very well made. Unfortunately, they are very uncomfortable and super wide. The length was perfect, but no matter how tight I tied the laces my heel lifted up a few inches with every step. The next size down would be too short, so I'm out of luck. The back of the boot is also very stiff and painfully hits the back of the ankle. This might soften up with wear but I'm not willing to find out. I'm so disappointed because they are just so cute!

They are cute but very heavy and stiff to walk in. I bought them thinking that I could use them to walk to work on cold days, but they were not comfortable enough for that purpose.

Really cute boots however I do not agree with all the 5 star reviews!!?? Fur is cute, lace up for wider calves is good but these boots are so wide in the foot and so clunky I found them a little hard to walk in. In fact I think to start I was a better walker in stilettos then these boots. They did keep my feet warm and dry in the snow and rain, but I could not wait to get them off. I will try to get used to them a few more times, but I am almost positive these will not be my "go to" winter boots! Clunky clunky clunky!

Reviews had suggested that they were fairly true to size but these feel a bit tight to me. And I have big feet!

I love the look of this boot! But it feels like a bulky rubber rain boot. Have to choose another.

These boots, while extremely warm, are heavy. I live in a big city, and therefore walk often. These just killed my lower back. We had a weird snowless winter, so I cannot yet speak to their waterproofness.

I bought a pair of these boots and have worn them for one winter. I love the look and there's no doubt the boots are warm and will hold up in any winter conditions. The problem is my ankles won't! The chafing on the back of my legs, just above my ankles is brutal! I'll buy Sorels again, but will steer very clear from the J of A boots. I'm looking for another pair - a different pair for this winter.

These boots are very cute. However, they feel clunky and they are not very comfortable on my feet. Most recently, they have been scraping against my base of my leg above the ankle. Without the insert the shoe fits 2 sizes bigger, so I cannot wear comfortable. Sad but I think I will part with them...still haven't made up my mind.

Nice looking but the boot runs at least 1 size too large. I am a full size 10 and was really swimming in the boot.

I bought these, and they just seemed huge. (I'm an 8.5 and bought the 9.) the size was right, it's just a very big, heavy boot. I returned these, and bought the Torfino and they were much better for me. Lighter, more comfortable, and easier to walk-in. I didn't feel like I was clomping around like a Clydesdale. The minute I tried them on I was like, ahhh... that's what I wanted! So, Joan of Arctic, meh, unless you are heading on an expedition to the South Pole. The Torfino? Yes please.

I live in Boston and we've had a lot of snow this year so I was hoping these would be the perfect winter boot. I love the way they look but they a bit stiff, heavy and uncomfortable for everyday use so I'm returning them.

Darn! They are too big, even with Smartwools. I'm going to try size 8 when/if they become available, but I fear they will be too small! Otherwise they are gorgeous and warm looking.

I completely agree with the buyer who said the toe box isn't very tall, and the boot runs short. I wear a 7 1/2 shoe, and needed a 9 in this boot for the length, but then it allows my heel to slip. The toe box is also quite narrow. Disappointing, as I think it is the cutest snow boot out there!

The boot immediately hurt my wide foot when I tried it on. I wear a 6 to 6½, depending on the brand and shoe. I ordered the 6 and it was snug. I have one wide foot and it is not a wide enough boot for it. There is not much arch support for high arches. All of my weight was put on the inside of my feet. Not a comfortable boot if you are running errands. I also do not like the fur at the top, because I would not be able to wear them even with boot cut jeans, because it causes a bulge in the leg of my jeans.

I loved the look of these boots, but did not find them at all comfortable and returned them. The sole felt totally flat, with no arch support. I also found them awkward to walk around the house in.

Beautiful shoe but had to return because it did not fit well. I read reviews that they ran large so I ordered a 7 and it was huge. So I ordered a 6 and it was still too big around the ankles. Very disappointing because it is a gorgeous shoe.

These boots are darling, but unfortunately I have to return them. I live in the Northeast, and would have to walk in them for hours. There is not enough arch support, as they are rather flat and heavy. They would be good for a quick shovel, but not for errands.

I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing this product. I am usually a size 9 and ended up returning it for a full size smaller. The size 8 fits was a perfect fit.
