Runs 1/2 size larger. Boot tongue goes up high to prevent snow from getting in boot. Cute.

These are perfect for snowy days as well as trudging through sloshy snow. The tongue inside does not allow water seepage and my feet stay warm and dry inside. The size is roomy even with thick socks but a 1/2 smaller had my toes too close to the end for a comfortable fit. Furry top unsnaps for convenience and warmer days. The other contender was Cate the Great Deco. The boot looked huge as did the upper area on my legs and I have thin calves and it still made it look big. Joan of Arctic fit the bill for warmth, comfort and looks.

I ordered these a size larger because I have wide feet. The width was okay but the pre-molded rubber squished the top of my foot. Very cute, I would've kept these for sure.

I got these boots in preparation for a wet/cold winter in Ohio. They are cute. Look cute with my corduroy skinny pants or skinny jeans. However, these boots run 1 size big. They are wide in the toe box so if your toes get cold, this may be something to consider. I bought a 5.5 and I normally wear a 6-6.5 in walking shoes. I bought both the Tivoli and the Joan of Arctic II for comparison and went with the Sorel Tivoli, which runs more narrow on the toe box/feet (fit my skinny feet/toes much better). The Joan of Arctic II are cute but even though I wear thick wool socks, they are still a bit roomy, although they are hard to get off and put on. Be careful not to take them off where you may hit someone by accident. On slick ice roads, you will need to put ice cleats on these but that's not big deal. Cute but if I decided on these, I will go with a 5.

Really cute boots but they aren't as comfortable as I would like...also they aren't that easy to take on and off but since I plan on using these for playing in the snow rather than running errands, I'm going to keep them. I hope they break in a little in the ankle since that is we're they are the most uncomfortable.

They are real cute but stiff, when i wear them they kinda rub the back of my foot caused a burn like cut. I still wear them broke them in though. Bough 1/2 size bigger because of wearing heavier socks in the winter. They def keep your feet warm and dry & are cute!!

I am an 11, and was thrilled that these came in an 11. They are a bit snug, and feel more like a 10.5, but I often size down about that much just for practicality (it's hard to find larger ladies' shoes!). First things first- these are adorable! Every time I wear them I get compliments. I purchased the tan and blue ones, and I am literally stopped on the street every time I go out in them by people wanting to know where I got them, what brand they are, or just to tell me how cute they are. There are downsides, though. They are insulated, so they're great for the cold and snow, but they are very warm and tend to make my feet sweat. The linings are hard to clean, and can't be thrown in the dryer because of the faux fur. Because of this, I've only cleaned them once, and did so by dipping them in bleach water up to the cuffs to kill the germs, and then in cold water to rinse them clean, and then setting them in front of a heater. This works well enough, but I'd suggest buying a couple extra linings from Sorel directly. They are also bulky and heavy. I have somewhat thin legs and ankles, and I have to alter my gait to accommodate the width of these big boots (the inner edges hitting one another as I walk also caused the faux fur in the instep area to start matting the very first time I wore them out). Walking far or running in them really hurts my ankles and calves. They're also made for ladies with wider legs, so I have to lace them up as tight as they will go to keep them from clunking around on my feet and exacerbating the ankle pain issue. I don't know that I'd purchase them again, but as they're my only pair of snow boots, and I live in Seattle where it snows less than two weeks out of the year, I'm content with them.

As a CO native I find it odd that I've never purchased shoe shoes/boots before. With a ski day coming up I splurged on Sorel's Joan of Artic II. I'm glad I did. I bought the Shale option, it's a great color that goes well with both browns and blacks. I typically wear a size 6.5 so I ordered the 7 after reading too many conflicting reviews on sizing. My advise - order a half size down. These are also a bit wide and take some time to get used to walking in - but it all comes down to them keeping my feet warm and dry, which they did.

I'm a size 9, 9 1/2 on rare occasions depending on the brand of shoe. My feet normally fit into any size 9's at a shoe store. I bought the Sorel Joan of Arctic II and found the following pros and cons: Pros: - They seem to keep your toes very warm (Have not tested so not to possibly void the return). - It looks as it should compared to the photo. - The fur top is very soft and comfortable. Cons: - When I put the boot on, it looks bulbous and clunky. But keep in mind, I ran with the normal size. If I got a wider version, I may have fit comfortably. - Had to undo the laces to be able to shove my shoe in, and even then it's with a little bit of a fight. Definitely want to get it a little wider, but the snugness feels good to me. Just wish it didn't look so clunky. - The high boot's backside digs into your lower calf when you walk. This may take a while of 'wearing it in' to get past. Unfortunately I'm in the process of returning these, as they just didn't meet my visual expectations once on my feet. But looking past the visual, I would definitely say it was very comfortable, a little bit heavy but still functional, and arrived in a suitable amount of time.

This boot was ordered because my North Face boots were not warm enough for the cold conditions on the lake. I found these boots to be warm only when wearing at least two pairs of wool socks. The fit is not right, however, because they do not come in half sizes. I wear a 7 1/2, ordered an 8 and felt they were too big. But needed to keep them since I was going away and did not have an alternative. I should have sent them back for a smaller size and maybe the 7 would fit better. They are really stylish boots, but the winter white is not white, but instead has a pink tone to them. I would recommend these boots, but be aware of the fit issue.

The boots are super cute, very stylish and extremely warm. The fit, however, was not great for me. I normally wear an 8 1/2, but the Joan of Arctic only comes in whole sizes. I ordered both an 8 and 9 to try. The 9 was huge and slipped right off my heel with every step. The 8 was almost too small, with my toes lightly touching the end of the boot. I had read some other reviews that said as the boot liner breaks in a little, it conforms and molds to your foot. I decided to keep the 8. They are still not a perfect fit, but I love the look and warmth.

I am in love with these. I returned the black to get the shale. The shale goes with everything...black, tan, gray, etc. These are so warm and comfy, but also incredibly cute. I was skeptical, but these are my best purchase all winter. The only downside is that they are a tad big and also I would not wear them on a long drive if I was driving.

I bought these boots in preparation of the Blizzard here in Boston. While the boot fit true to size, I am a 7, I felt like my foot slid forward. I was able to resolve this by placing insoles in the boots. I also felt that I really needed to tighten the laces as the boots were tough to walk in. I also found that the boot rubbed against the back of my lower calf but I'm sure with time this will get better. I wore the boots today, went out and walked around in the huge amounts of snow. My feet never got cold and despite me walking through some deep snowbanks, my feet did not get wet.

The winner! I ordered eight pairs of boots from Zappos (yay, Zappos!) and these are the pair that I'll keep. The ankle is a little stiff, and they aren't as light as I might like, but they're warm and waterproof and super cute for snow boots. I was concerned that with all that rubber on the bottom, they wouldn't keep my feet warm, plus I don't like a heavy shoe. But I kept seeing other people wearing these boots, and everyone I asked told me how warm and dry their feet were. The shaft is high enough for any snow drift I'm likely to have to walk through, and the girls I spoke to were right - you get used to the weight and the ankle. Of course I only wore them last night and only walked for about 10 blocks, but there was a blizzard and I sloshed right through slushy puddles. I think these are going to be great!

I have owned these for almost two weeks and they have worked perfectly! I walked through slush and no leaks, -15° and my feet felt like they were at home in their slippers, I walked three miles and had no blisters! The fur on them, I thought, would be a snow collector, but that s not the case. They are fun and comfortable to wear. The size seems slightly larger but made it feel more like a mitten then a glove which I think helps with keeping my feet warm. I am very happy with these. My only concern is that the fur does not fit under my snow pants so I might get the plan felt liner for those times. Side Note: Thanks Zappos! I ordered these Sunday they were delivered to my door Wednesday in time for a ski trip up north!

I've had a pair of Joan of Arctics (original) for a little over a year. They are great boots: cute and comfortable. I have two complaints: First, I have to unlace them 3/4 of the way to get them on and off. Not a huge problem, more of an inconvenience. Second, there really isn't much cushion to speak of in the sole of the boot. I have arch support insoles in mine which help, but the lack of cushion/insulation makes them not as warm as I'd like them to be, even with thick socks. Just something to be mindful of. Overall, though, still a great boot -- they've held up fantastically through 1 1/2 Minnesota winters!

Got these boots for my mom because I fell in love with my own Joan Of Arctic boots about a year ago. These boots are extremely warm but a little stiff. Maybe I just haven't broken them in but I feel like I am walking in snowboarding boots.

I loved the look of this boot but it is going back. This is a serious snow boot and more than what I need. It feels heavy and was a little hard for me to walk in - and it felt like it would not be comfortable to wear for a long time. But it would keep your feet warm and dry. Really think it is such a good looking boot, just not right for my needs.

I love the look and feel of these boots! They are super cute and really comfy. Best of all they keep your feet really warm and dry in the wicked cold snowy winters! Beware that they are a tad bit clunky, but they are waterproof snow boots. The size was right, too. I wear thick socks under mine (to further insulate my feet) and they work great.

I love these boots as a whole however I wish you could remove the fur panel at times. They look super cute with leggings and are great to keep dry. I think I will need heavy socks when it is very cold Chicago winters can be frigid. They are a bit difficult to walk in at first but I'm assuming they will be better once broken in a bit.

I've had my eye on these for about a year and finally got them as a Christmas gift to myself. I was really sad to send them back because I think they are so cool, but my foot was swimming in them. If I thought dropping a half size would help, I might have done that, but I noticed that the instep seemed so far forward and they were just so wide that my heel was moving around quite a lot... I think I am going to try the Tofino now that I have read some of those reviews. Many thanks to Zappos for being so great about returns.

My parents bought these for me for Christmas 2010, so two years ago, for my move to Alaska. I was so excited to get them in the mail, I had always wanted a pair and had no use for them in Dallas. I still love them, though have found that in temperatures below 20° my feet do not stay very warm. I have loaned them to visitors and friends, and have found that it seems to mostly be me whose feet do not stay toasty warm, and think that must be because I have terribly cold feet. They are perfectly comfortable, and I wear them daily for running around town and to the barn. They are also my go-to boots for sledding - I just add the toe warmers, or double my socks (even then my feet are a little cold). What I have noticed most is that I do not feel like there is a lot of insulation on the bottom, so that is what lets my feet get colder. I did find some Ugg replacement insoles that I plan to buy, and I think that will make a huge difference. I leave the laces tied, and am able to slide my feet in and out without a problem (sometimes pulling my feet out I will lose a sock) which is nice to not have to untie and retie each time. I do love these boots, I would definitely recommend them. Just be prepared for double socks or toe warmers if you are cold-footed like I am.

These boots looked very cute and seemed very durable. They were also very warm and very well made. They looked the price. The leather was soft and gorgeous. I couldn't believe they were water proof. The lining was also removable so you could wear them without the fur at the top. A huge bonus. However I wear an 8.5 and decided to round up to make room for warm socks. They wound up being huge. Round down. They already made room for thick winter socks. I also found it really difficult to move my ankles so instead of being able to walk in them I wound up having to stomp around. It may just be that they were too big, but the ankle is very stiff. I think it would be a great stylish boot but it's made for more severe weather than I generally have. I decided to get something else. But if I ever move to snow country I'm putting these on my must have list.

I bought these for heavy snowfall since I tend to walk throughout the year. These are great for keeping snow and slush out. They are also very well insulated with a felt liner. The downside to these boots is that they are not made for long distance walking. I could walk about a mile maybe a mile and a half in comfort but any more than that and I would begin to experience discomfort. Mainly there would be folding and/or pinching in the low calf/ankle area. Also their weight can be quite taxing when walking more than a couple of miles. In conclusion, great boots for shoveling the driveway or slogging through slush but terrible for long distance walking.

I love the look of the boots! If you are between sizes go up as they run on the smaller side. I have to get use to the hassle of lacing up instead of the ease of popular slip-on boots.
