I bought these last summer and wanted to wait to review until I had actually tried them out. I have now had a good test and my beautiful Joan of Arctic boots did great. They handled snow and slush, keeping my feet snug and dry. On ice they were pretty good -- I did slip a little, but did not fall. For really bad ice, though, I will probably strap on ice cleats. I usually wear a 10, and so ordered a 10. They are generous enough to accommodate thick socks, and wide enough to not bother my bunions. The support is not too bad, but the soles could use a bit more cush. I will likely add gel arch supports for a bit more support when walking on bare pavement. I found the top opening adequate for my large calves, and the laces hold well when tied. All in all, I love my boots!

Great boots. Bought them last winter and they look brand new. My feet never got cold or wet. I have thick calves and they worked great. They took about four days of mild discomfort to "break in" and after that they felt great. I wear with legwarmers to help "tuck" pants into the boot. Very sturdy for real snow wear. (Not glorified slippers like some brands. *coughUggscough*)

Very cute winter boots. I found that they don't run small like most Sorels. I usually wear a 9 1/2 in most shoes and found that I needed a 10 because my toes touched in the 9's. With a 10 they still fit, but they have a little room for a winter sock.

I love these boots! I listened to other reviews that said they run large. I usually wear an 8 1/2 or 9, so I ordered an 8 and they fit perfectly. I'm sure the extra room is probably to allow for extra heavy winter socks, so if you really plan to wear in very low temperatures, maybe you would want to order your normal size. I have worn them twice, and already gotten at least three compliments on them. I ordered in Shale, which I thought of as gray, and people seem to call them brown, when they comment on the. Overall, they're a great boot, and I'm very happy with my purchase!

These boots were just as expected and are super comfortable and warm. I got them in Taffy. I purchased them because I was traveling to Germany and would be doing some hiking. I walked miles in them without breaking them in first and did not get blisters or anything. I wore thick socks. Additionally I was so warm when everyone else was complaining they were freezing. They are super cute too. I ordered them at 11:00 PM and received them at 11:00 AM the next day! You cannot beat that! My only complaint, is that they are a little hard to get on and off. The lining tends to want to come out when I take them off. It is not that big of a deal though because I just stuff it back in there. They are true to size, comfortable, warm, and cute! I think they will last me for years to come.

I love these boots! They are so stinkin' cute! I have only ever used Uggs for winter boots in the past, but was so sick of them getting soaked through in the snow, and they have very little traction. I was so excited to find these and even more excited to have received them (less than 48 hours after ordering with free shipping) and they are perfect! So comfortable, so adorable, and true to size! I can't wait for it to snow.

I know a lot of people said that the boot runs large, but I will never know this because I can't even get my foot past the ankle part of the boot! Perhaps you have to roll around on the floor to get your foot in. I wear a size 12. So ladies with a larger foot and calf beware.

I love these boots. They look great, are super warm, and I've received many compliments on them. They're great outdoorsy boot while still looking stylish. My only criticism is that they don't fit snug in the ankle area. Overall, very happy and you can't beat a sale on Sorels!

I bought these boots to keep my 14 yr old daughter's feet dry, warm and fashionable during our brutal (yet elegant) Minnesota winters. All criteria have been met! The only problem is I. (The Mom.) Now am suffering from boot envy. PS. Daughter did kick in some of the dough as the price tag is up there.

Loved the boot. Runs much smaller than the normal Sorel boot. I usually wear a 10 in Sorel, and I took a 12 in this boot! But I love it! :) Adorable. Not a lot of arch support however if you need it. :(

I love the style of these boots! And, I love how warm they keep my feet, which makes this Cincinnati girl so happy! I have not had to test them in a heavy snow yet, but I smile whenever inclement weather strikes - any reason to wear them is great by me!

Overall happy with these boots. Pleased with the comfort, warmth, and style. A little stiff when I got them but the more I wear them, the more comfortable they get. I read that they fit big so I bought a smaller size than I normally would have. At first, my toes hit the front but again, the more I wear them, the more they are molding to my feet. I don't have that issue anymore. Very warm, I usually wear thick socks with them. Highly recommend.

I love these boots. They're very functional and fashionable. I love wearing these around to run errands or even to work when it's messy/slushy outside. I never have to worry about the salt ruining my boots or my boots getting wet. I plan on having these boots for years to come. They are a little heavy, but that doesn't even bother me because I am so happy with the way they look and the functionality.

I wear size 7½ or 8. I ordered 8 and they fit wonderfully. I do have slightly wide feet so I was thrilled that these are not too tight fitting. There is wiggle room. I tried them out on the mountains at Alta/Snowbird, Utah and they kept my feet toasty warm and dry. 10-12 degrees and lots of deep snow and for the first time ever, my toes did not get cold! And I only wore a pair of ski socks with them. I received lots of compliments on them also. These were the only boots I took on the trip and wore them everywhere all week. Even at the airports the laces untie and loosen easily so you can get them on and off without struggling all day, yet stay tightly laced when tied. I absolutely love them!

Love these boots! Very comfortable with great functionality and tread for walking through Minnesota ice and slush.

I love these boots! I haven't had the opportunity to wear them outside, just around my apartment for a while. I'm not sure if the back of the ankle will rub, I kind of bent my leg back to loosen up the material, and loosened the laces as much as I could. I assume a thick pair of socks will help with the ankle rubbing (if it becomes a problem for me). The reason I rate these as a half size larger than marked (even though they are whole sizes only) is because usually I can't fit so perfectly into a size 5 and still have room for my slightly wide toes, although I marked them true to width because they aren't that wide. I'm usually about a 5.5. I originally ordered a 6, but they were just too roomy and too big. I can't recommend what size others should try because everyone's feet are shaped differently. But, Zappos has free shipping, so it's not a big deal to order another size. I do agree with others that the colors on the Zappos site are not as accurate as real life. I'd recommend going to the Sorel website to view the accurate colors, but order from Zappos because their shipping is free and prices are awesome. Some say these boots are huge and clunky, I'm petite and don't have very muscular legs, and didn't find these boots to be too heavy for me. I consider them to be a very "sturdy" winter boot, considering the material they are made of-they aren't going to be light as a feather. Like I said I still have yet to test them during the winter. As always, Zappos has been great with their 1 day shipping and easy returns!

I wear a 9 but got a 10 cause I have thick calves and ankles. I also wanted to be able to wear tights/thick socks/leg warmers with them. 10s are a tad big, but I'm gonna keep them cause they feel really comfortable and warm and it's nothing a thick pair of socks won't fix. They are great if you have wide feet and have an inside liner that stretches around the calves. I live in a very remote/isolated part of Utah and these boots will hopefully do the job.

I love these boots. I've worn these pretty much daily-while snowshoeing, snow tubing, and just walking around in the cold, snowy weather.I have plenty of room to wear a nice thick pair of wool socks. These boots keep feet warm and dry, and the faux fur keeps the snow out. Added bonus. These boots are super cute and stylish. I receive compliments every time I wear them. I didn't have any issues with discomfort or need to break these in.

I love these boots! I bought them last fall, and although we did not have a true MN winter to test them in, I did get to wear them a bit and love them. They are a real snow boot, and are still cute enough to wear around town. I wear a 12 shoe size, and ordered them in a 12 since that is the largest size available. I would say they are pretty true to size. I can still fit in a heavy sock for added warmth if need be. They are definitely not petite and you will know you have them on. They are not extraordinarily heavy or hard to walk in, but bear in mind they are snow boots. That being said, for a nice warm snow boot they are still cute and trendy. I am very satisfied with my purchase!

I found this to be a very stylish, warm, and comfortable boot. I usually wear size 6.5/7, and I ordered 7 which was perfect--not too loose, but roomy enough to wear with thick socks if I want. I've enjoyed testing the boots rain puddles and snow, and I haven't had them leak once. Great buy!

These are great boots! I love the neutral colors, the black on the boot is more of a charcoal color. They are great for standing around on the snow while my boys are in ski lessons. They are very comfortable with a splash of style. I am so glad that I bought them. I normally wear an 8½ but after reviews bought the 8 and they are perfect with SmartWool socks.
