I was going to order these last year but waited too long and they were out of stock. So for this upcoming Chicago winter I ordered early. Usually am a size 10-10.5 and I decided to go with the 10.5 as I wear heavy socks a lot. They are a little heavy but my feet will be toasty warm! Thanks Zappos again for great customer service!

Well made and cute! Love the look of these boots with any cold weather outfit. I haven't worn them in the snow yet but they definitely seem to be made to withstand the elements. A quick reminder to all: these are winter boots and are made to fit and look that way, hence the bulk of them. Cutest snow boots I have seen!

Very comfortable boots and sizing chart was accurate. I love Sorel boots because they last forever! A little bit pricey, but worth the money! Keep my feet nice and warm shoveling snow off the car.

These boots are perfect! Super cute, but Sorel so you know your feet are going to be warm and dry. I wear a 6 - 6.5 and ordered the 6.5 so I could wear thicker socks and they fit perfect with just a bit of room in the toe.

Loved the look, and they seem like they will be comfortable, just runs big and feels wider than my normal sizing! Returned to get a smaller size.

I've had these boots (the original Joan of Arctic) for about 5 years. They're still in great shape and I live in the great snow belt. I would buy them again and again!

Love these boots! These boots are extremely comfortable and very warm. I have yet to wear them in the snow, but I am confident that they will be amazing. I was a little hesitant at first about the separate lining, but it is very secure and does not shift around in the boot. I am in love with these boots and so glad I bought them. For reference, I usually wear anywhere between a 9 and a 10 (depending on the shoe) and I got these in a 10. They are perfect.

I haven't had a chance to wear these in the cold weather yet, but love the way they look and fit. I bought them after the crazy winter we had last year in Chicago, and am sure they will be warm and worn plenty. I had to loosen the shoelaces quite a bit to get my foot in the first time, but once in, they fit fine. They tend to sell out in the winter months, so I wanted to get a pair now! I'd say I can't wait to wear them, but given how cold it will be, I think I can. :)

Great style, good support. Absolutely wonderful for looks and function I needed a warm, sturdy boot for Midwest weather, and for a ski trip out West. This boot will absolutely stand up to the weather...ice, snow, rain. love it! I am usually between a 9.5 and 10. I ordered both the 9.5 and 10 and chose to go with the 9.5. it was a bit narrow, but not so much so that I can't work into it over a couple days. So happy that it's cute and comfy. I will be buying different inserts so that I have the fur top as well as a regular knit top. Love.

My daughter loves the Sorel Joan of Arctic Boots. Her college is located in the mountains and everyone gets these boots because they will keep your feet very warm and besides being stylish they are very durable and hold up for years under the coldest winters. The boots are worth every penny, and do sell out quickly.

I usually wear a size 9, and I wasn't sure what to expect since many of the reviews said the size ran slightly large. I ordered a size 9 just to be on the safe side, and they fit perfectly. JUST enough room for a thick pair of socks, but not too large that they are uncomfortable or too loose. Super soft, very warm, and probably my favorite boots ever.

I have two pairs of these that I basically live in all winter. These boots have laces, so I question other reviewer's complaints about having a hard time pulling them up -- unless those reviewers haven't learned how to untie laces, I don't see how that could be. I've tied my laces so they're tight enough to keep the boots on my feet, but loose enough that I can slip in and out of them. They do arrive stiff around the ankle, but soften with wear. Also, you have to get used to the stomping gait the thick soles force you to adopt, but it is so worth it! These boots are super cozy and warm, and never-ever leak. They're also very cute and you will get loads of compliments. I wear a half size larger so I can add thick knee socks that I pull up over my jeans or leggings and allow to peek out above the boots.

Based on all the review, I ordered a half size smaller than usual. They were too small! If your feet are at all wide, go with your regular size.

I've waited for these boots for over a year. They are gorgeous, well made and warm. I ordered a 7.5 as I'm between a 7.5 & 8. Unfortunately, I had to return for the bigger size. Can't wait for the first snow!

These are the most stylish snow boots that I have ever worn. I think these were the most expensive shoes that I have ever purchased, other than Frye boots. However, I can tell that I am going to love them for a long time! The fur trim lining comes out for a less insulated feel. I actually love the fur look and extra warmth. We have had some crazy weather in Atlanta this winter and they were perfect in our snow/sleet storm. I hope to have these for many many years. I love the shale color, it is a gray that matches everything! I wear a 9 and got an 8½ based on reviews, they fit great, even with thick wool socks. So, yes, they run half a size large and a bit wide, but not enough to return them. I love these boots, almost wish it snowed more often, so I could wear them more!

This boots are just amazing. When my feet were freezing in Uggs in this frigid Chicago weather, I realized that it was time for me to get some hardcore snow boots, and Joan of Arctic satisfied both fashion and function. Some of the reviews said that the boots run large, but I think it is mainly that the boots are wide in width. I wear 6½ but have wide feet so I sometimes have to size up to 7. Because I wanted to wear thick socks, I ordered and they fit so comfortably! I think if I ordered 7, they would have been too tight around the ankle and scuff my heels a bit but because I have more room to wiggle my feet around, I did not really need to break them in at all. Also, I thought there would be some kind of fur lining (just like regular Uggs) but I was disappointed at first because that only seemed to be some kind of rough material. But then I went out in the snow with my barefeet, wow! My feet just felt warm and dry all the way. Just perfect. These boots are heavy. I was amazed how they could actually be 4 pounds but anyhow, they feel just slightly heavier than my rain boots. Plus, the heaviness seems to give more stability in the pile of snow and ice we have here in Chicago. Anyways, these look like they will last me at least 10 winters! Plus, Zappos shipping is absolutely awesome! I received my boots within 24 hours of ordering them.

Love these boots! Got them this summer and finally had a chance to try them out over the past couple of weeks. I wore them both with thermal socks and with just bare feet - I have to say, my toes were really comfortable and even warmer with just bare feet (temp outside was about 15 degrees farenheit and I was outside for several hours). They look adorable with skinny jeans and my snow pants slipped easily over the tops when I wore them sledding with my family. The full laces make it really easy to slip them on and off - if you loosen the laces at the ankle enough, you don't have to tug and pull so hard - which is nice. Overall - I love these boots!!

Boots of all boots, instantly keeps your foot warm. I think it runs a little too big though around the ankle. Have to figure out what kind of socks to wear!

Super warm and comfortable. The stiff base/ankle was a little difficult to get to used to at first, but I love them. Perfect for sub zero Minnesota winter and tromping around in the snow. I did have to return and order a 10 - I'm usually either a 9.5 or 10, so I would recommend to err on the larger side if you are debating it.

I finally had the chance to wear my boots and I am please with the fit, the way it handle in the snow. I had no fall or cold on the inside which was the main reason for the purchase. I actually really got my money worth in N.Y Jan 1, 2014. Love it. My only issue was my side buckle that completely broke hard to tell when this happen. I am still happy with the purchase despite of this small problem.

These boots were shipped to my daughter in Montana. She feels these are definitely the boots for there extreme weather. When she doesn't have on her snowboard boots, her Sorel's are on her feet.

I am on my second winter with these and I love them. Last week I spent 90 minutes shoveling snow and was cold everywhere -- everywhere, that is, except from the top of my boots down. They are warm without making me hot, and my feet have never ever gotten wet while wearing these. They are a tad clunky for walking, but very comfortable. A little more arch support would make them the perfect winter weather boot. They are definitely generously sized -- I wear Dansko clogs most of the time and these are a little roomier than that, without feeling like they are too big. I find the roominess nice because they're easy to put on and have plenty of room for thick socks or pant legs. I was really tired of buying cheap winter boots that leaked or fit poorly. I am very happy I took the plunge on these... I'll be wearing them for years to come!

These boots were a Christmas present for my fashion plate daughter who must trek to her job in downtown Chicago...she wasn't sure about the style since she doesn't normally dress like an Eskimo but don't you think she is happy she asked for these with all the hideous weather we've been having? She says they couldn't be better & have really been put through the test with the below zero temps & 12"+ of snow! Toasty warm dry feet. Wish I had a pair!

These boots are very well-made and comfortable. The snap-fitted strap that holds the liner in place when you take off the boot is a nice design touch.
