My feet never get wet. Had to wear them in a bit to get them to be as comfortable as they are today. Warm however during #Chiberia my feet needed a second layer of socks to stay toasty.

I bought these as a gift and the recipient LOVES them! She says they are comfy and warm, just what's needed in the snow.

The boot was great fitwise. Main problem is with Zappos' photo of the Shale color. The photo shows it as a gray, when it is actually brown. There is an accurate photo on the brand's website.

These boots are amazingly warm, perfect timing for the coldest temps in 20 years here in Minnesota. And they're cute and easy to slip on with a baby in your arms.

Very warm and remarkably stylish for being so functional. They are quite wide (which works for me) and for the first few wears my heel was rubbing where the rubber meets the other fabric but that doesn't seem to be a problem anymore.

These boots are great! Very warm, stylish, and actually keep your feet dry (unlike you know what brand). Originally ordered a 10 (my usual size) but had to return for a 10.5.

I love these boots! I ordered an 8.5, which is half a size smaller than I normally wear and they fit perfectly. The ankle portion is snug but I think this is because they are new and have to be worn in to get some flex. They look so cute and cozy and the colors are great - not too dark, not too light and neutral enough to go with anything. The furry snow cuffs gives them a cute winter look that I love.

These boots are worth every penny. It snowed 8" by me this weekend and I spent hours outside playing with my kids and their friends. I sat in the snow building snowmen and my feet were comfortably warm the entire time - with just light ankle socks on. This is a winner!

These boots not only look amazing, but they feel amazing, too! Nothing like looking trendy when you are walking through a blizzard in Chicago! This is the best purchase that I have made in awhile, no question about it. I actually have bought two pairs of Sorel boots in the last month and haven't stop talking about how great they are! I already convinced two other people to go out and buy a pair! :)

These were just what my daughter needed. She is away at college and needed a boot she could walk to class in plus provide protection from the snow, slush, and cold. These did it all and are fashionable by her standards.

Love! Love! Love! Ordered the black Joan of Arctic sunday night and they arrived Tues afternoon, just in time for our first CT snowstorm. LOVE Zappos! After reading all the suggestions about ordering a size down I decided to order a 9, my normal size. They fit perfect! I agree that they are a little wide around the ankle but they are stiff enough to provide good ankle support. (i wanted to give them only 4 stars for comfort for that reason but it wouldn't let me change it) I may add an arch support liner because they have little support but are very comfortable. They are also very easy to pull on and off which helps me due to a back injury. I haven't worn them out in the snow yet so I can't comment on how they handle snow and ice but they are so cute and warm I'm keeping them regardless. These were a splurge but will probably be the last winter boots I ever buy, and I am only 40 something...

Love these boots. I'm between a 7 and 7.5. These boots are very wide, but I needed the 7.5 for length. I've worn them in snow and single-digit (Fahrenheit) temps already, and they were great warm, dry feet and good traction. Plus, they look great! The Shale color combo is the best, not too stark, goes with everything.

These boots are warm and cozy and fit like a dream- with big thick socks, or without! The fur at the top is cute when popping up over leggings or skinny jeans. These are a great, warm option for winter or the colder rainy days when wellies just won't cut it. The quality seems to be great so far, and the laces are strong and resilient. I've worn them about 4 times and can't wait to break them out in the snow now that I'm walking to work. The bottoms seem like they would be good on icy streets as well. A great buy and a solid pair of cute winter boots!

Wow, what great winter boots! I have always wanted these and envied women who had them. Having shoe size 12W I never thought that there would be some out for me. The boots are a bit snug to get in at the ankle if you wear really big socks. If you just wear normal wool stockings you fit in fine even for 12W feet! They are very comfortable and so warm. I live in the Northeast and we get our fair share of winter here. Snow, ice, slush, nasty cold. Now I am ready for it in a fashionable way! Awesome!

I just received my Joan of Arctics, only two days after ordering! I love Zappos! The boots are gorgeous. They are made beautifully. I bought them in shale and they are exact to the color that Zappos shows. I am a size 7½ and after reading many reviews on the Joan of Arctics, I ultimately decided to go half a size down. The size 7 is perfect. They do not feel too clunky or heavy, yet they are serious snow and bad weather boots. Thank you again, Zappos. One of our last great companies.

I bought these boots 2 years ago from Target. They're awesome, but if you buy them here you are way overpaying.

So cute and excellent high quality boots. However, ran small on me. The other reviews I read stated to go down a half size (since they only come in whole sizes), so being a 7 1/2 in women's, I ordered a size 7. Way too tight so had to return them.

These boots are awesome. They are quite clunky and large, but they are warm and keep your feet dry even in slushy snow. They might run a little large, but I always wear giant socks underneath so they fit perfectly. For big clunky boots they're cute, too.

Looks like the perfect bad weather boot... unfortunately runs very large, at least a half if not a full size. Back they go.

I got the black Joan if Arctic II. Shipping was fast. Boots look great. The suede is a nice touch. The boots fit my wide feet and calves, but the middles (arch area) is tight. Hope is stretches. Have owned Sorel boots before and LOVE the brand!

Love, love, love these. Comfortable and super cute. I sized up just a little (I usually wear a 9 or 9 1/2, I got the 9/12) and it fits well. No problems with my bunion, and I have room for thick wool socks. I'm staring out the window hoping for snow so I have more chances to wear these.

Got these for a Christmas vacation to Steamboat Springs...they were fantastic. If I could wear them all the time, I would. They are heavy, but when it's 10 degrees out, it doesn't matter! The styling, lacing, faux fur trim on the top are super stylish and look great with jeans and tights with a dress...highly recommend these!

I ordered these at what I thought was the tail-end of winter here in Chicago, but thankfully it snowed again to make these shoes incredibly worth it. While I was walking through melted snow and puddles (due to the excellent waterproofing these shoes have), my friends were tiptoeing around wet spots. Plus, my feet and calves were warm, and I had a bit extra room to shove my pants inside as well.

I received these as a Christmas gift (2012) after wanting them for a year! I instantly fell in love with how warm they kept my feet warm & dry, especially in PA where the snow turns to slushy muck. I was like a kid again wading through water and not having a care in the world if my feet got wet! I wear a 7.5, and originally received the boot in a size 8 after hearing that they run small, but after walking in them for about 25 minutes, I got blisters on the backs of both of my feet! Ouch! I returned them and went with a half size smaller, and they felt snug at first. After wearing them in after a few days, they fit perfectly! My feet couldn't be happier!

First, let me tell you that I would never rate anything five stars as there is no such thing as perfection but I did not have the option of rating these four and a half stars so a five is what they got. I am very pleased with my purchase of these boots and here is why. I just moved to Maine and needed a good pair of winter boots. They needed to be stylish as well as functional. I wanted to wear them for shoveling, snowshoeing, walking in the woods and everyday errands. I looked at the typical places such as L.L. Bean, the mall, and every sporting good and outdoor store that I could find, but I could not find anything that fit all those needs and in my size (I am a size 9, regular width feet with really high arches). An outdoorsy friend of mine recommended the Sorel brand, which I had never owned before, so I began my research by reading reviews of their different styles on every website I could find. Although these boots only rated four stars on Zappos.com as well as a few other sites, I just loved how they looked so I thought that I would give them a try and if I hated them I could always just wear them as my cute boots and buy another pair of functional frumpy boots. To my pleasant surprise, I love these boots! I have had these boots since early January 2013, it is the end of March (and we just got another 14" of early spring snow). They have been hiking for a couple of miles at a moderate pace on relatively flat terrain, snowshoeing and I have even worn them to dinner after errands at a casual restaurant. They earned five stars for style because I get compliments on how they look everywhere I go and I even like looking at my feet with these on them. They earn four and a half stars for comfort (but it says five because four and a half is not an option). I have found that the right boot rubs my heel a bit after a long period of wear. My right foot is slightly bigger than my left (marginally but it is bigger), so I have been trying different socks to see if the rubbing stops but as of today its still a bit uncomfortable for long wear (three or more hours seems to be the maximum before I am super uncomfortable). My left foot is fine and a bit of mole skin on my heel and the wear time goes up to about four or so hours before my heel is just super uncomfortable. They feel like they run big but they do not, there is space in these boots to allow your feet to stay warm. They are true winter boots and those reviews that say they were too big may not have realized the extra space is done intentionally in winter boots in order to keep toes from freezing. They are wearing well, look brand new still even after many hours of wear at this point. I am very happy with this boot, and of course, with Zappos.com for an amazing price on the boots and fast shipping.
