A few days of break in needed. Found that the uppers wear out quickly if the shoes are exposed to water. Very dry and thin Nubuck can't take abuse. The soles wear quickly from walking on city streets.

Super comfortable right out of the box, but didn\'t last me 4 months. The soles wore out quickly and the inside of the shoe, on the heel part, wore out too. I\'m on my feet for 10 plus hours a day, a 50 plus work week, so that could account for the wear and tear of the shoes. Looks were fine for management work attire in the grocery industry.

I wore a pair of Keen Briggs I shoes for about 2 years. When the unfortunate day came to replace them, I immediately went to Zappos.com to buy another pair. But, I found out that Keen had replaced the Briggs I with the Briggs II. Reviews from other people made me hesitant, but I went ahead and purchased them. When I first put them on I noticed they weren't quite as comfortable. They weren't uncomfortable, but my previous Briggs felt like I was walking on a cloud. Now, after about 5 months, some of the seams are starting to come loose. Will I buy another pair? Maybe, because I do love the way they look, but I just wish they had the quality of the old Briggs I. Maybe Keen will come out with a Briggs III that will have better quality than the Briggs II.

I have been wearing Keens for a long time and this is my fifth pair! I love my Keens! Just start to wear BriggsII. I worn them probably 10 times since I received them. They still are very hard at the sole (my first Keens with this hardness of sole), and leather is not soft enough yet. I am sure in a year or so it would wear out beautifully. One area that is not comfortable where my ankle bone touches the edge of the shoe. I hope that are softens as well.

I have owned 3 pairs of these shoes. Although very comfortable, the sole wears out in about 4 months. I am finding it hard to pay $100 for a pair of shoes that last only 4 months. I am moving on to a different style of Keens for one more chance.

I've owned 4 pairs of Keens and by far these are the least comfortable. I've owned these for about a month and a half and have already worn holes through them.

This shoe is a big disappointment. I've been wearing them for 3 months and still can't get them to feel 'broken in'. They are very stiff and hurt my feet and are nothing like the Briggs that used to be available. I simply wasted my money on these.

Not as good as Briggs. What's up Keen? You made a great shoe. This new one does not have the fit and finish of the Briggs.

I have ordered three pair of the Briggs II over the past 4 years. The first pair were very well made and sturdy. The second were lower quality and the third are less than acceptable. The price has gone up while quality has decreased. I am not happy with the diminishing quality of this shoe, and I will not be ordering them again.

I have very wide feet so Keens are usually a good fit for me but I can't help but think that they're made with one thought in mind: profit. Yes they're leather and sold at outdoor stores but the shoes are made cheaply. My brother (with similar feet) had one pair break in two days. I've gone through several in a year. They're wide so I'll keep buying them but they're not that comfortable and certainly not worth the money.

The shoe fits great, comfortable. The only problem I have is that it has very strong industrial rubber smell. If you have a sensitive nose, this is not the shoe for you.

I have been buying Keens for years and expected the Briggs II to be as good as the previous Briggs. Unfortunately it\'s not that typical broken in feel that they used to have. Keen really didn\'t hit the mark like they usually do with this shoe. Guess they were going for a Briggs and sneaker hybrid with this one and it just doesn\'t work for me. They seem smaller in width, tighter in the toe and heel. Just not the comfort or quality I would expect out of Keens.

I have been really disappointed in these shoes. I loved my old pair of Briggs, and like the look and feel of the Briggs II, but they started to fall apart within weeks. Now both shoes have multiple seams pulling open. Very surprising and sad.

As always, Zappos service is top notch. I have owed several pairs off Keen Briggs and they were the best work shoe ever. Good quality, great traction, broken-in right out off the box comfort, and as always that funky Keen styling... So why did Keen replace it with this model? Beats me! I thought after wearing them a while (it has been six weeks) they might break-in at least a little. But they remain stiff and uncomfortable... and worse yet that wide toe box that I have to rely on from Keen (I’m 12EEE) has shrunk.

I cannot say that I recommend these shoes. Over time the front top started pinching my feet from the top as the leather buckled in when I walked. That was extremely painful. The arch support is about standard for Keen, which is not great.

Not nearly as good as the original Briggs. Owned this model 1 year now. Poor quality overall, and noisy. On both shoes, sole came apart at the heel within 2 months of daily wear, have reglued 2 times. Sole wore through within 3 months, allowed water inside. Insole worn flat in 4 months. Huge disappointment after good experience with original Briggs. The noise - squeaks and odd creaks - never goes away, despite application of powders and leather treatments between surfaces. On the plus side, the heal cup is still intact, which wore out quickly on the original Briggs. And the laces are still good. Unfortunately I've had similar experiences with other Keens purchased in the last year and a half. This may be obvious, but the soles are proprietary, so you can't just slap on a Vibram sole and be good to go. Style? Not in black anyway, they're just big, dorky black shoes that say A/V nerd from several hundred feet away. This is my last pair of Keens, which is really too bad. They used to be good.

Bought original Briggs in August, 2009. Loved them; they fit perfectly and wore like iron, so I thought I would buy another pair. Well, again a manufacturer has taken what was a great product and cheaped it up to the point where I will never again buy it! Same size shoes were too small, too narrow, and my heels lifted right out of them with every step. Insole used to be molded leather, not anymore. Outer shoe feels cheaply made. I don't think they will wear nearly as well. If you liked the original Briggs, don't waste your money on these...they are junk!
