It's beautiful and comfortable to wear. It is true to size. I am a size 6.5, but I was having problem taking it off since it's a tall boot. So I bought size 7 to make it easier for me to take the shoes off after a day of walking. I have a pretty wide calf and this one fits me perfect.

I got these boots in the brown soft leather and they are awesome! They run true to size and go with almost everything. They keep my feet really warm also.. I just love them!!

This is my first pair of Frye boots and I was not disappointed. Excellent quality and super cute! At first I thought I needed to go up a half size in these, so I contacted Zappos online chat and the representative was very helpful. Turns out the first pair I got was the pair I needed, so they do fit true to size. I can't say enough about Zappos customer service -- simply the best...and so are these boots!

I was stopped 3 times while wearing these boots. They are great. Comfortable and stylish. The only reason I gave them 4 stars for comfort was the ankles rubbed a little bit when I first got them.

Love! I am so in love with these boots! This is my 3rd pair of Frye and this is my absolute favorite of all three! I have thin legs and calves and I usually look like I am swimming in boots but the calf fit on this Carmen is perfect! Frye is a true fit boot - stick with ordering your true size. The harness and ring is so vintage classic but with a twist of sophistication and it can be dressed up or down! I love these boots so much that I am planning on buying them in short and black!

I am so happy that I ordered these boots. They look great and are very comfortable, the quality is excellent! I sometimes have trouble finding boots to fit over my muscular calves, but these fit great even with skinny jeans on. The boot is tall but not too tall I am 5'2 and they are a great height. Saving my money for another pair of Frye boots.

Good God these are awesome. I ordered an 11 as I usually do for heels even though I'm between a 10 and a 10.5 (there was no 10.5 size offered), and they fit pretty well, allowing me to wear thick socks with them as well. As for style, shoot, they're amazing. Like so many others on here, I can't believe I found a well-made leather boot that goes all the way up to my knee, looks fabulous, and fits may calf. I'm living the dream!

This is my first pair of Frye boots, and I love them. Planning on wearing them with my sweater dress I just got as well, and my tights. I wear a lot of jeans to and I'm going to wear my jeans over the boot. I think they look cute with the rounded toe, not to fond on pointed toe shoes, but don't hate them. Read a lot of reviews and they were very helpful. Thanks Zappos for the easy return of my other boots. Will definitely be a regular shopper on Zappos.

Super comfy and cute boot. Heel adds a little height without compromising comfort. I'm between a size 8 and 8.5 depending on the shoe, and the size 8.5 in this boot was just perfect. This is my 2nd pair of Frye boots, after getting the Melissa Button boots last year (and trekking all around Europe in them this past spring...comfy and stylish). Fryes are great quality leather and last forever. If you can make the investment, you won't regret this purchase.

I love these boots. They are my first pair of Frye's and I will be buying more. The quality is outstanding and they are actual real leather! The fit is perfect - I am 5'7 and a size 6 clothes and 9.5 in shoes. I tried other Frye's before these and some had a narrow calf but these are perfect in every way!

I waited forever to buy these and finally gave in. So glad I did! I bought the tan leather and they are beautiful! They fit true to size. I like that the calf area is looser/relaxed to be able to fit in skinny jeans. They are expensive, and I hate that Zappos now charges tax...but I know I will have them for years and they will get even better with wear.

Best boots. I love them bought 2 pair black and brown, true to size, never needed to break in. Very comfy, walked all day no sore feet, they always get attention.

These boots are my absolute favorite shoe/boot of ALL time. Comfy, stylish, I could wear them every day if I could get away with it. Worth every penny! True to size, roomy and slightly slouchy in the shaft - perfect all year round, in my opinion! When on, they don't look quite as tall as they do in the pic, because they slouch a bit, so they end up around mid calf height on me (I'm 5'10).

I love these boots but they are a little stiff...I'm assuming/ hoping they will soften up with age. I have another pair in the same style that is the soft brown leather...and are very comfortable from the first time I wore them. I wear a 9.5 and they were pretty true to size...but the stiffer pair is a little tight-again, I'm hoping they will soften up.

After much consideration I bit the bullet and bought the Carmen Harness boot. I loved the look, but was worried about not trying it on, plus it costs more than I would like. I am disappointed with the way the boot fits. It rubs on my ankle where the seam is for attaching the shaft of the boot. I was expecting to walk on air in these boots, having paid so much, but that is not the case. I do love the way they look and are not too slouchy like other people have said in reviews.

I have been wanting a pair of Frye boots for over 3 years. Due to their hefty price tag, I was always hesitant. I finally took a leap of faith due to all the wonderful reviews and purchased my first pair of Frye boots. I'm SO in love with them! I got the dark brown Carmen tall boot. They are lovely and the leather is soft and buttery. The only thing was that the boots are distressed and have a texture to them. At first I wasn't sure if I would keep them but they're growing on me. I think the distress gives them a unique worn-in look to them. Overall they are a stunning high-quality boot!

I ordered this shoe in size 8.5, which is my typical dress shoe size. The shoes were about 1/2 size too big, so I returned them but ordered the same shoe again, The shoe is sleek, stylish, and suitable for dress or casual wear. I am looking forward to receiving the proper size so that I can finally wear them!

WAY too small! I normally wear 6/6.5 and these hurt my feet and were very difficult to pull on with no zipper. Beautiful boot, though.

I am 5'3" tall, 120#. Legs are the skinniest part of me; shoulders the widest. Leg length: 30". Calf at widest point: 13." These felt tight on my calves. And they hit at the most unflattering point at the lower part of my knee. Not just that: even though they felt tight around my calves, they were really wide at the top. So unflattering. And, not just that...the oiled black suede was a weird off-black color, a look that wouldn't have been dressy enough to go with the DVF dresses I'd had in mind to pair it with. I agree with the reviewer who mentioned these would not be good with skirts: Not unless your legs are much longer than mine. I figured 135 reviews making an overall 5-stars meant I couldn't go wrong. I did, though! Seemed very well made - I would buy this brand again, but not this boot. Back they've gone.

I love the Carmen Harness Tall style and I wanted it to fit so badly! I ordered my usual size 6 in Frye in 5 different colors - black, brown & tan in the vintage veg tan leather, the taupe waxed suede and the gray leather (which was way too slouchy for me). The foot of the boot fit perfectly, but unfortunately, the shaft was huge on my slim legs. I tried them on repeatedly and looked at them from every angle, tried different types of jeans, but they always made me look like I had "popeye" legs or was wearing fireman boots. The shaft is just so spacious all the way down to the ankles. I had to be honest with myself about how they looked, even though I could hardly bear to send them back. With regard to the leathers, the vintage veg tan is supreme. It is not a slouchy leather but neither is it super stiff. It's sturdy but luxurious and the colors are incomparably rich. I loved the black and dark brown. The tan was too bright for me. The taupe waxed suede seemed like an off-color, but I liked the leather. The grey leather is super soft and extremely slouchy, just like the boots in the video - not my style. Guess I'll have to wait until next year & see if Frye comes out with a slimmer Carmen style.

Let me start by saying these are the BEST looking boots out there. I have never had Frye boots before, so I was very excited when they arrived on my doorstep. They look amazing, but the sole is rock hard, and the toe kicks up (which looks great, feels not-so-great). The bottom is also very slippery, just walking around my house for a couple minutes I was very uncomfortable and kept thinking I was going to slip. Maybe that's what well made expensive boots are like? Maybe I would get used to it? Unfortunately I will be returning these. Luckily Zappos has the BEST customer service out there, and will continue to search for the perfect knee high boots.

These boots are gorgeous in person and have a cute slouch that makes the bagginess of the calf look edgy and stylish. I couldn't keep them, however, because the toe box is too small and caused horrendous pain in my big toe and arch. I tried them in a size 7 with arch supports, which helped, but they felt so baggy in the heel I felt like I would trip and fall in them. They are too loose in the heel portion for me. These boots would fit people with feet that are the same intermediate width from toe to heel, not like me with a triangular-shaped foot. To compare, I find the Jane Strappy Frye boot comfortable in a size 6.5, with no tightness around my toes.

These boots are beautiful in the vintage brown color. Unfortunately, they don't fit right. The second time I put them on, the inner liner ripped in two. They went back. I got a replacement pair in dark brown, and the color is just ugly. I was not into it. It was like a dull greyish brown.
