I absolutely love these boots! I own this style in both the veg black and the dark brown leather. They are sexy and stylish. I have high arches and it can be challenging finding comfortable boots with heels. These did not disappoint! I have no problem pulling them on either. I am sure that I will be back for more colors. Love these! I have about 9 pair of Frye's, and this style easily ranks in my top 3 for comfort and style! Of course, Zappos has the best customer service, and quickest shipping too.

I got these Fryes after trying 2 other styles of Frye boots. I was discouraged with the other styles because I have a high arch and was unable to get my foot into those styles. These fit perfectly. I was able to slide them right on. They are casual enough for jeans and a tshirt but can be dressed up. Love these Fryes and so happy that my boot search is over.

This is my 3rd pair of Frye boots. I have the Jane (in dark brown), the Jackie (in black) and now the Carmen Harness in Whiskey in the vintage veg leather. I was worried that the Whiskey color would be a little too red, but it really is such a gorgeous color and could literally go with anything. I love the harness detail - it adds something special to my boot collection. These can be dressed up or down. I can already tell I'm going to love this boot; I am a huge Frye fan - you always get what you've paid for. I'm a Colorado girl, so the weather can be pretty unpredictable, and Frye boots hold up just fine. They will literally last you years and years to come! One thing I would like to add is that I have skinny legs. In previous reviews, I saw that they complained that these boots didn't fit their skinny legs and looked awful - these fit my 5'3 petite frame just fine and I can tell there's going to be room to tuck in jeans. This leather also doesn't slouch for me (maybe it's the vintage veg leather) - stands straight up and goes right below my knee, which I love. I love tall boots - since I'm short it makes my legs seem longer! I also love that I got the Whiskey color on sale. Granted, they're still pricey, but I promise they're a quality product that looks great - you will not regret it, I promise! I highly recommend the Jane and Jackie as well - great boots!

These are by far my favorite pair of Frye boots. I ordered my usual size of 8 1/2 and they fit great. I am 5'7" 122 lbs, and the top of the shaft has a little room around my calf, but can still wear with dresses, skinny jeans, etc. The leather doesn't slouch too much, and the toe box provides enough space for thin socks for me. I ordered the tan color, and they go with everything. And due to the color, can possibly be worn year round. So glad I got this boot.

Coolest boots ever. Stunning, and stylish, these boots will not look dated next season, or for the next ten years. Timeless styling. Let's face facts, everyone's either wearing flat boots (so mom) or ankle booties (so done), so grab a pair of these, stand apart from the crowd and look fabulous while doing so. They literally go with everything, from skinnies to trousers to peasant skirts. They skew boho but they can work with any outfit. Frye quality, so you pay a bit more but they are totally totally worth it. No cheap leather or flimsy stitching here. Just get them resoled every year or so and they'll last forever.

Hi originally 'thought' I wanted a pair of riding boots. So I ordered a distressed pair of lugged Frye boots. Although beautiful they were a bit too distressed for my taste. So back they went to Zappos. (Super easy). Then I debated between the Carmen short and the Carmen tall. I eventually went for the Carmen tall in Tan Vintage and I could not be happier. LOVE infact. I am so happy with the heel, so much sexier than a riding boot. I was afraid the shaft would be too baggy on my skinnier leg, but it is not. It's perfect over skinny jeans. They were comfortable right out of the box, I had no breaking in period. The leather is soft, yet sturdy. The boots 'stand up' on their own. The Tan Vintage are a bit lighter in person, but that was good, because I thought the picture was a bit dark anyway. One 'think' some of you might want to consider is the leather does mark. If you rub your foot against the bottom of a table for example, you will be left with a line of lighter leather. Par for the course with a dyed leather anyway. I think I rather like is actually. It make my boots look lived in, but one day I will get some shoe polish and just wipe them all way. Now if only this Houston weather would cool down some so I can wear them more. Worth every penny!

Hands down this is the best knee high boot I have ever owned. I have the Carmen Tall in black and waxed tan, and the Carmen Short in dark brown (I like the short with my black leggings). Men and women both love my boots and compliment me on them all of the time. I have skinny legs so they absolutely are a little bit loose and "fireman boot-ish" which I prefer, I think gives it a casual edgy look. If you are on the fence about the tall get the short, because they stand up straighter in skinny jeans and leggings. Either way the Carmen line is perfect and worth every cent.

I debated long and hard over buying these boots secondary to cost, but I've been looking for several years for good-looking knee-high boots that would fit a larger calf (15inches). I was kind of hoping that they would fit funny or not be as cute as they looked in the picture, but they were unfortunately comfortable, and just as attractive as they appeared. And they fit over my calf. So now I have to keep them, regardless of expense. I'm converted to Frye. Highly recommend these boots, worth the expense - look great with skirts and skinny jeans. And, as usual, excellent service from Zappos.

Wide Calf - Yes! These boots are great for people with wide calves. Even though it does not say "extended calf" but they are pretty roomy. I wear shoes size 7.5 but for boots I order half size up. I got the Grey leather and they are so gorgeous & look expensive. (Wait! They are expensive!) Love my boots.

Love these boots. I usually wear a 7.5, but I'm returning these because they're a tad too small. I purchased the size 8 and they fit perfectly.

How I love thee, let me count the ways. I am so in love with my boots! They are so comfy. I have athletic (15 1/2) calves and they slipped on perfectly with no struggle. I wore them with leggings already and got so many compliments. They are perfect!

I totally love these boots. They are comfortable to walk all over in. The calf fit my popeye legs and the leather is amazing. Gotta have em!

So yeah, these are expensive boots. But, if you can part with the money they're worth it. They are my favorite high boots I've ever bought. They go with anything (seriously, anything), they are comfortable and the heel height is perfect and just enough to add a boost, but not so much that they get uncomfortable. They're an investment, but they'll be worth it. Classic and won't go out of style.

This is my second pair of Frye boots and they have not let me down! The quality is amazing! I bought black antique leather and it is gorgeous! My other pair is the Jane Strappy, these are definitely stiffer leather and do not slouch as nearly as much. They are a little stiff in the ankle but they are starting to work in better. I think it is just from the band and metal detail around the ankle. They run true to size and super comfortable as usual!

Love the feel and look of these boots! I wear a size 8 shoe and ordered a 7 1/2 in this boot. Fit perfectly. I wear them with dresses, skirts and with jeans tucked in or out. Great all around boot and always receive compliments on them.

These boots are great. The color is a distressed grey, really pretty and not too trendy. The leather is soft and the boot feels well made. I usually wear a 7 but the 6 1/2 fits great though I don't wear heavy socks. I highly recommend these boots.

Love these boots, they are so sexy! I think they are true to size, but I don't want them so snug, I normally wear a 7.5 and they were a little snug in the foot and tight in the calf, so I decided to try an 8. Nice leather, almost returned because of the price, but can't make myself. Love these boots, can't wait for the replacement!

These boots are without any doubt a head turner. I purchased the black waxy color. Received many compliments the day I wore them out. True to size and width. I wear 8.5 to 9 and got a 8.5 with a little wiggle room with thin socks. You can wear low socks too..they won't quit :) The first time I wore them the ball of my feet hurt a bit and the 2nd time I wore them for 6-8 hours and it was much better...I do think these require some break in time. Very nicely made..leather of good quality. I am usually an UGG girl but have found ( these are 3rd pair of FRYES )that these will OUTLAST other boots. I will be purchasing FRYE from now on. I also recommend the ENGINEER 15r and 12r. Expensive but if you want a quality boot that stands behind they're product then it's well worth it. Save up girls... these are a sexy, versatile boot with room to tuck boot cut jeans in and I promise you will be strutting your stuff when wearing these beauties!!!

Very comfortable. For some reason the left boot is hard to pull on (has never happened in any other Frye or other brand boot/shoe). They are true to size I consistently wear 7.5 and these are perfect. Love the height they come up right below my knee (I'm 5'6") and add a bit of height with the heel, but not too much. The waxed taupe suede is gorgeous, they go with skinny jeans, black leggings, dresses, anything. Worth every expensive penny!
