I love these boots. they look great and like all Frye's, they break in to be some of the most comfortable shoes you'll ever have. I took them to a shoe repair and had a more durable sole put on, since the boots come with a hard leather sole that was a bit slippery on some surfaces.

I purchased these boots for my 21 year old daughter and she loved them! I had seen them on Emily Maynard (from The Bachelor) and thought they were stylish and practical. My daughter wears them all the time and gets compliments from strangers walking down the street. She is thrilled, and I am too! A great buy and fun to wear.

I debated getting these for months and finally splurged...I'm so glad I did!!! They are comfortable straight out of the box - minimal break in. They are gorgeous boots!! I got the grey ones, and they are sort of on the tan side, so they can go with black or brown easily. Warning: The calf circumference is 14 1/2", not 16" like it says - I have no calves, but I looked these up on TheFryeCompany.com and decided to trust their specs, and was right to do so. There is also a belief that you should go a half size down with Frye boots - not with these. I'm a consistent size 9, and these are by no means an exception. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Hope this helps. :)

Love! These boots are amazing and so is Zappos. I ordered a different pair that did not fit my calf well. I called Zappos and they directed me to some other fabulous Frye options. I ordered these and am so happy. They fit so well, cute with jeans and skirts.

Beautiful leather. Comfortable from the moment you put them on. You might not want to take them off.

I love this boot! Of all the new Frye boots I have purchased for myself, I like the fit of this boot the best. The general look is like the harness, but much classier. The rounded toe allows a smaller size to be worn and not quite as difficult to get on as some of the other. I had exchanged another boot for this and Zappos had this boot to me the next day, after placing the order/exchange about 8 PM the previous night! I do live very close to the warehouse, but still hard to believe they arrived that quickly! Please note: They are just a bit wider and run a bit bigger than most. I usually wear a 6, but was able to wear a 5.5 in this boot. Love it! Love Zappos!

These are great boots! For those of you with above average size calves, this is your chance to have some great boots that will fit! For those of you with regular calves, you will be able to wear your skinny jeans inside these (I can even get mine tucked in there). If you have below average calves, they might be too loose. They have a western flare, but aren't too overtly "cowboy" boots; they look great with all kinds of skirts and dresses. I ordered my "normal" size and they fit great. They are actually very comfortable. I have worn them to teach for over 5 hours and had no problems.

Finally, a boot that reaches just below the kneecap and is roomy enough for those of us with larger legs! These were the first boots I could easily pull on over my jeans (or leggings). Everybody keeps asking me where I got my boots. All my Fryes last forever, too.

These boots are classic. They fit perfectly, as I find is usually the case with Frye Boots, they look fantastic and oh! the leather is gorgeous. Best of all, while they may cost a bit more than other boots you can find, they'll last forever. I have another pair of Frye harness boots that I've been kicking around in for 15 years. I figure I'll be wearing these around town when I'm in a walker!

These are my favorite boots. I have ordered them in light tan and will get the chocolate brown. I have other Frye boots, but these are the best.

Love these boots! In my opinion they are designed to be a little loose. It makes for a more casual, worn in look. Beautiful leather & great comfort from day 1.\r\n\r\n

I love these boots. I just got them in the mail a couple of weeks ago and I wore them right out of the box. They are comfortable and awesome quality.

Finally a tall boot that fits my large calves! Love, Love, Love them, the usual awesome Frye quality, got them in the dark brown and am thinking of the grey and tan as well. Expensive, but worth every penny for the great fit!

Love, so pretty. I comparison shopped the Frye Veronica Slouch with this boot and kept the Carmen Harness Tall. It is so beautiful, fits great on my wide foot and muscular calves. Goes with everything: jeans, skirts, etc. No complaints Zappos. I love you, too!

My first pair of Frye boots and they're to die for! The leather upper is surprisingly soft and not thick as I expected, so I'm really hoping they will last as long as Fryes are said to last. As to the fit, I'd say they run slightly narrow. I can usually wear a heavy sock (wigwams) under my boots, but these are too narrow for that. I'm just going to have to buy some warm, thin silk socks, because these boots are too hot to send back.

I was headed to CO for a Stampede Rodeo and needed a pair of boots. I ordered these and as soon as I got them I tried them on and didn't want to take them off! They are so comfortable and look amazing on. I even bought a pair for my step-daughter and her friend and they absolutely love them too!

I love these boots and they are perfect for a slightly wider calf. I wish there was a bit more padding, and the boot is a little narrow making me think inserts will not work. Awesome styling and many compliments!

Very cool looking boot - especially the gray. This is my 3rd attempt at trying to buy Frye boots (I tried 3 different styles) but unfortunately they are just not for me! They fit true to size in the foot and are quite comfortable but the calf is a different story. I am a runner with athletic calves (15") and while I could get the boots on easily, they were very tight at the end of the shaft. These were not 16" in circumference. So, these are going back.

I love them, they are hot and sexy. But, be careful the heels are not real layered leather and they can chip. Take them to a boot specialist and put a tap on the heel. Also, the distressed leather is difficult to clean. Waterproof them with a non-silicone spray.

Beware, these are suede boots not leather. So they are a soft suede leather. I thought they were "hard" leather.

Excellent boot particularly for larger calves. It's a bit baggy in the ankle, but I got the dark brown color (which is a gorgeous textured/worn-and-loved looking leather) that makes the bagginess look like it's just worn that way. The boot itself fits like a Frye boot, meaning extremely comfortable from day one and will only get better with wearing. The toe area seems to have a little more room than the other "Carmen" styles. I have narrow feet but thick socks make the fit perfect. The heel is the perfect height (not too tall to be uncomfortable, but tall enough to make your legs look long and sleek) and the slightly upturned toe gives the boot an extra little flair that I absolutely love (I have several other "Frye Carmen" styles with the up-turned rocker look). All-in-all a gorgeous boot well worth the money, but not for the skinny-calved girls.

These boots are beautiful, but hard to put on. The interior leather ripped after 3 wears. Like, completely ripped. Not sure why. Maybe I got defective ones. Either way, I'm super sad. :(

I love the way these boots look from the side. The leather hangs well, and the boot looks cool and sexy. But from the front, the top of the boot is too wide. It looks funny on me (I'm 5'5"), like fireman boots or galoshes.

Edit to my prior review: After wearing these boots less than 15 times, the heel has worn down significantly, and the leather coating on the heel is peeling off. It’s not like I’m traipsing through giant puddles after rain storms; in fact, the harshest condition my boots have experienced is damp sidewalk. I am very disappointed in the quality of these boots - I expect to get YEARS out of something that costs this much. I stand by my prior comments concerning the excellent styling on these boots - I get tons of compliments on them, and they look awesome with just about everything.
