I was worried arter reading the reviews that my foot with a very high arch wouldn’t slid into the boot. Because of the low heel, pointy toe and short shaft i decided to risk it. I wear a ten and ordekred a 10. My foot went in fine, just a little extra pull for the right foot. Great looking boot and fit perfect. Love the low heel and pointy toe. However, there is a defect that appears to be a 3/4 inch razor cut with shoe polish covering it on the side of one boot. So at $300 these are foing back.

A little loose, feels at least a half size too big, but love them so much I just wear with thick socks. They look great, especially under jeans.

These are nice, good quality boots at a reasonable price. I normally wear a 9 in regular shoes, and a 10 in running shoes. I ordered these in a 9 and 9 since most boot makers suggest getting them a half size smaller. I am returning them for a 10. They are a bit of a struggle to get into, but comfortable once you get them on. I ordered the dark brown leather, and while I realize they're supposed to be "distressed", I was distressed at the scratches in the leather. They are almost like a nubuck (soft surface leather) so polishing would be impossible. When I reorder I will try the dark brown calf shine.

I own a few Frye Harness and Campus boots and love them. I wanted something shorter that would look good with skinny cords and jeans. This boot was cool looking, but I couldn't imagine wearing it over any pants. It caused the bottom of my skinny jeans to push up and just didn't look right. I have pretty skinny ankles and am only 5'4". They looked fine with bootleg pants; however, I like the Harness and Campus look better because they have more of a heel (1/2 inch more). I bought these in charcoal leather and the color was beautiful. Now I think I will try the Billy Shootie next.

I got the Billy Short in the distressed grey, and they are really, really cute. I got them to wear with jeans when I don't feel like wearing heels or heeled boots, which is what I normally wear with jeans. They are comfortable, although the tag at the top rubbed part of my shin raw the first time I wore them. Nothing socks or removal of the tag won't solve. I love the slightly upturned pointed toe, especially because it isn't so obvious. The grey color is very neutral and would go with anything. There are more brown tones and striations in the grey than there are blue, which sometimes happens with the color grey, and that would make them too cool-colored. Not the case here. Totally neutral. The sole and the heel, too, are vintage looking but look like they are made to last forever. The stitching is subtle and gives the whole boot a vintage-y Sundance sort of feeling. Kind of girl from a ranch-moves-to-NYC kind of look, in my opinion. I wouldn't be able to rock the shortie boot with skirt look, I don't think, so I believe I'll stick to wearing these with jeans. They will be great in the spring and summer especially, when tall boots are just too hot to wear down south. The arch support is decent (I have high arches), and the sizing is perfect. I normally go between an 8.5 and a 9, and I got the 8.5, thinking they would stretch a bit and because I didn't want to have to wear socks if I didn't want to. They fit perfectly. I have several other Frye boots, and these are my favorites right now. Comfortable, unique, stylish, vintage-modern. My favorite style combination.

Zappos did a great job. I received these shoes very quickly. As far as the boot, they are so cute; however, my heel does move up and down some as noted by the other reviewers.

I don't agree that these run true to size, for me they ran big. I measure a 9.5, but can wear an 8.5, a 9, 9.5 or even a 10 in a running shoe. I have a narrow foot and one is larger than the other. Tricky to fit. These boots in a 9 were flopping off my feet. In an 8.5 they felt better but tight in the toe area. The main reason I am returning is that I was unable to get any phone support from Frye about the fit recommendation. All I got was some girl who kept repeating "Frye boots run true to size" like a robot. That's all she could offer in terms of conversation about the fit. Supposedly someone from Frye was going to call me back, but no one ever did, even though I left 2 callback requests. If Frye is going to close all their stores (which they did), and you can no longer go in for personal service, they better up their phone game if they want to keep customers.

So sad. I couldn't even get my foot into this boot...I guess because of the arch in my foot, but that's never been a problem for me before. I am going to see if getting it in a wider style will help. I am so upset about this because this boot is even prettier in person -- it's exactly what I have been looking for to wear to all my country concerts this summer.

These boots look great...but they are not the most comfortable boots to be had. It is REALLY hard to get my foot down in there. I couldn't have used a smaller size because once my foot is in there, it slips really bad in the back and rubs blisters. I went and bought some "real boot socks" and now I like them a lot better. They are still hard to put on...but now that I've got them broken in they are more comfortable. I normally wear a 7 1/2 or 8 shoe. I ordered these boots in 7 1/2. Don't give up on getting your foot down in there because if you get a bigger size...they will be too big. They look good though. Really cute & stylish boots.

Brown stain unappealing. I finally decided to go with the Frye boots this year in the shorter height. Got these boots in brown and the stain on them looked like it was wiped on by a child. Even the tint of the brown was nothing like I thought it would be. I will be returning them, much to my disappointment.

I am so disappointed with this boot. I paid no attention to the reviews saying they couldn't even get their foot into the boot. I have such a narrow foot I thought that wouldn't be my experience. The reviews were correct! I could not even work either foot into this boot to even say whether or not it fit! I worried that after struggling and working my left foot halfway into the boot that if I DID get it all the way on I'd never get it off!! So back they go and they are really a super great looking pair of "knock-around" boots.

I was so excited to get these boots but they were too small! I couldnt even get my foot into the boot. I have two other pairs of Frye Boots (size 6.5) but the 6.5 in these were too small.

Love Frye boots, and this one is very cute. However, I couldn't get my foot into the boot! They are going back.

I could not get these boots on, even with a shoe horn. I even tried ordering half a size larger. They are very well made, but I am very disappointed.

I ultimately had to return these boots because they were too uncomfortable to wear. I even had a heck of a time trying to get my foot into the boot. I wear a size 10; I ordered my true size, one size up and one size down. Nothing worked. Once I could finally get them on, I just couldn't stand the pointed toe and lack of cushion. Needless to say, I appreciate Zappos free shipping on returns! Overall, the boot is cute to look at, but I have to have some element of comfort in order to actually wear it.

I would have loved these boots - had I been able to get them on. I struggled for fifteen minutes with a shoehorn trying to get them on to no avail. I have narrow feet and a size 6 has always fit me in Frye boots (I own several pairs). So it was really disappointing that they cut the shaft so narrow that it's well nigh impossible for me to get my foot in. Shame, Frye, shame. Love the Zappos return policy though!

Could NOT get my foot in boot. I tried 2 sizes larger than my normal boot size and I have a very narrow foot. I hate this because it is an adorable boot.

One boot leg is much more narrow than the other (almost 1cm), it takes me minutes to get into that boot; so even though they are super cute, the colour is beautiful and leather feels great, they have to go back! It's way too much money for that discomfort. You should think that a boot in that price category would be crafted more carefully!

I am so frustrated. I ordered these boots in a dark vintage brown from another company in a size 8 and they fit perfectly. My only problem was that I did not care for the color in person, so I ordered the Dark Brown Old Town from Zappos in an 8. I was so disappointed when I got them. I could not even get my foot in the boot passed my heel. I then ordered an 8½ only to find out that I could not get my foot in any better than the 8. I absolutely love the color and am not sure what to do. I do not understand why this color seems to fit so differently than the other color. And did I mention that my feet are on the narrow side.

This boot has a very narrow throat which makes it impossible to put on. Frye mfg. Need to widen the throat so that you can at least get the boot on. I can't return the boots because I left smudge marks on the boot. When I checked the boots they looked liked they were worn especially the heels. DON'T BUY. I gave them to Good Will. Once I got the boot on which took 20mins it fit the big problem was getting it off. I like Frye but not this style.

I'm sure these boots would be great...if the average person could get their foot them. I have a very standard size 10 foot - not wide. It was impossible to get my heel into this boot. I had to go out and buy a shoe horn, and even then - it took a great deal of struggling to so much as try them on. Once I had these boots on? My heel stepped out of the boot...I expected so much more in terms of fitting from Frye. So ridiculously tight that you cant even put them on - then too big once you manage to get a foot in them. Forget it.

Beautiful boots BUT cannot get on! I have a normal foot, ordered these a half size bigger - as other comments indicated to do so - but I still could not get these on. THANK GOODNESS for a store such as Zappos that is fantastic for returns. Will stick to Born's; they always fit!

I was looking for a cute, stylish pair of cowboy boots to wear with jeans and thought I'd splurge on "the best" as Frye has such a great reputation and the photo looked nice. I am VERY disappointed with the product - the leather was scratchy and worn and the color dye was cheap looking and unattractive. The "brown" color had a purpley undertone that is not pretty. In addition, the boots were wider than normal and looked like something you'd wear mucking horse stalls - not a pricey pair of fashionable boots. If I didn't wear them outside to get my mail I would have returned them in a heartbeat. Wish I had taken a better look first. Don't make my mistake! Zappos is great...but beware of this boot!
