Comfortable out of the box. Great ankle support. Leather is soft and supple. Shoe is very well made and is a classic design. Love the lug sole for added security on uneven terrain. Only issue is could use a bit more arch support, but I will add inserts. Also, not an all-season boot. I would not wear them on snowy days; they give zero warmth thanks to the thin lining. Look beautiful with jeans, skirts, and are a perfect shoe for driving, too.

Out of the box these shoes are comfortable and look great. These are the shoes I'd wear when lots of walking is in order. A bit wide but then I have narrow feet.

This boot did not run large for me at all. I wear a 9 or 9-1/2 in Ariat boots - the 9 was narrow and short! No room at all! This is a more hiking boot look than, say, the heritage paddock boot that I'm keeping (in the 9-1/2). The heritage paddock you could wear to work, this boot is definitely more rugged looking. I fell in love with this brand on a 'city slickers' horseback riding vacation in Arizona eons ago. Bought my first pair out there - Ariat roping boots according to my cowboy hosts. Thought these were the same boot but they're not. I still love Ariat...I get a new pair every fall - whether the paddock, paddock zip, or the fun baby phats - they have the technology for all my urban adventures. If these go on sale...and they have a 9-1/2 or 10...I will probably order a pair to wear with jeans. You cannot beat the price for this quality.

Wonderful boots so well made and great leather that they felt great right from the start I was looking for support for my feet and the tight lacing and good support in the bed and heel of the boot works. They aren't soft but they are comfortable. Style is classic; if you like country, you will like these boots!

I have owned a pair of these black heritage Ariats for years. I don't care what anyone says, they look dang good girls in skinny jeans and they will last forever line dancing and shaking what your momma gave ya on the dance floor. They're sturdy, they're rugged, they're toe stomp-in, they're some of the greatest boots I've ever worn and just bought my third pair today so now I have 3 colors. Get 'em, you'll love 'em!

I'm impressed: these are the best-made boots I've seen in a long time. High quality leather, high-quality laces and decorated grommets, non-slip soles and heels. I think they're stylish, in a "Your mother wears army boots!" kind of way, and I wear them to work with dress slacks, where they support my flat feet and wobbly ankles all day. I haven't got them completely broken in yet but they're getting more comfortable by the day. I normally take a size 11 which and that is sometimes a bit short. These boots in size 11 were way too big, so I sent them back and ordered 10's. These were plenty long enough, and also looked less like gunboats.

I have long narrow feet. This style makes my foot look so much shorter. The leather on top is much thinner than my other Ariat boots. Will wear them for fun times. I usually order 1/2 size smaller but these could of been 1 whole size smaller. I also need thick socks. They do look fantastic.

These boots are very comfortable and are true to size. I have a hard time finding footwear that doesn't contribute to my back pain but these don't make me hurt.

I really liked these shoes when I saw them on the internet. After reading reviews I took people's advice and got a half size smaller than my normal size. I am a 7.5. But it took a couple more returns and exchanges to get the right fit. However, I liked them so much that I did not mind doing this. I finally settled on a 6! A size and a half smaller than my normal shoe size. They fit just right and I know they will stretch out more as I wear them. If I wear a wool sock they will definitely be tight, but again, I'm not too worried as I think when they stretch it will make room for that. The leather is really soft and they seem to be super comfortable. They can be worn with skinny jeans even though they are more heavy duty than some other ankle boots you may find. I feel optimistic about these boots because they seem to have the ruggedness that I need, but also a fancy style that can be paired with a casual look or something a bit more dressed up. The lavender lining is a nice touch and I do appreciate that I can take off the fringe if I want a simpler look.

The size was very puzzling to me. I typically wear a 7.5, maybe an 8 and ordered these in a US7.5 and they're huge! They're maybe 1-2 full sizes too large (see photo), which I can't understand since I'm usually a pretty easy fit and the other reviews seem to think they're 'true to size.' I have high arches and a bunion so usually, if anything, I wear a bit larger. I love the look of these boots and think I'll really enjoy them when I get the correct size.

Got these for walking around in Italy and love them. They fit great and were so comfortable. One of go-to everyday pairs of boots now. Definitely a must to break these shoes in before wearing them to do anything vigorous.
I did the regular toe, but am now curious if I would've liked the wide toe better. I've got fairly small feet (6-7 women's US), and my toes and around the edge of the balls of my feet do feel squeezed fairly regularly. I thought the regular toe as I've never needed wide toe before, so something to think about before purchasing.

I owned a brown pair in 2005 and used them for years. I loved them then as I do now. The quality and comfort are great. The only issue I have is that the tongue on the left boot does not stay in place. It shifts to the outer left.

Great tie boot. Had a pair for a good ten years in brown and finally bought a pair of black boots. Classic style and very well mage

Very comfortable. The only thing I miss is the small tassels on the top like they used to have! My last pair lasted for years!!

This is my third pair and they are just as comfortable as before, though some features have changed. One thing I would improve is, there is no slot in the tongue for the laces so the tongue slips over the side and is annoying. I'm going to remedy that. It has been 5 years since my last pair bit the dust, but I broke an ankle last October and wanted comfortable boots for extra support. The height on these are just right and are comfortable for walking. True to size.

These are so comfy, warm, but not sweaty, waterproof, very cool looking BUT they are soooo slippery on wet ground/floors. These have lasted me so long but I just can't handle the slippery soles anymore! Can Ariat put some tread on these beauts? or does anyone have recommendations? Please, Please, Please. These are almost so perfect but I can't keep slipping at work anymore.

I think these are my cutest boots. They are not as comfortable as my Harper Waterproof boots, but I think they will break in nicely and get more comfortable as time goes on. For now these are my "dressy" boots. I don't wear them to the barn. I'm trying to keep them nice for a while. I think they are very pretty. They replaced an identical pair that I had for 30 years. Hoping these last just as long.

The boot was fine except we need a leather sole, not a rubber sole. She uses these boots for goat tying.

I normally wear an 8 in my boots. These are extremely big even with thick socks, so I recommend a size down.

Lovely boots, much longer and wider than Heritage IV Paddock Boot (comparing size 7.5W) they fit my top wide and skinny ankle-foot without any issues. My only issue is that the right side seems to bother the ankle area of my foot. Trying to decide if to keep or return

I've gotten 4-ish years of hard use out of these boots. I'm in the industry so that means on my feet doing chores, taking care of horses, or riding for 10-12 hrs a day in all weather. They've been my "all day, everyday" boot for the past couple years & it's sad that they're finally dying. Cracking leather & stitching coming apart. I think I could've gotten another year or two out of them, but I tried a new boot cleaner (that chemically burned a hole in the rag I was using) and I think it made the boots age faster. I've done western, jumping, dressage, natural horsemanship, & even my first 100m endurance race in these boots. They're been good to me & no complaints other than wanting to have them longer. Used to get comments on how handsome the boots were when I first got them too!

First off, I usually wear a size 8.5-9. I ordered a 8.5 and it fit sort of. I felt they were a bit narrow and the toe seemed kind of long. The quality seemed really nice and was comfortable enough that I could probably wear them without much break-in time. However, the overall fit and style just weren't for me. The extra leather flap detail I feel just made the shoe seem long and awkward on me. I think you could remove it but the laces then start higher up than most shoes.

The boot is very stylish and comfortable -if you only need to wear them for a short period of time. There's hardly any cushion in the sole. Overall I love the boots, for a few hours of happy hour, but not a ten or twelve hour shift.

Its been several years since I bought this shoe - it was a beloved comfort shoe. This time, not so much. It seemed stiffer around the heel and ankle area. The support is there and I didn't need my sole inserts but i tried walking during my lunch hour at work and wore a blister in right heel where the inner heel patch is located (my guess). I am hoping if I continue to wear it without massive walking missions it will wear soft and stop blistering my heel. Currently this is not a walking shoe. the width is ok, just need a softer feel for the ankle and heel where it currently rubs wrong.
