It's been 15 years since I've ridden so I'm pretty much a newbie again. I wanted a shoe that I would work for both Western and English riding and landed on this one. They fit perfectly out of the box and I wore them around the house a bit before riding. I've used them for Western riding a couple times and they're been great. I had surgery on my right foot 12 years ago which resulted in sensitive parts on my foot and around the arch. I haven't had any issues with irritation along those areas. I would highly recommend this shoe!

I am female, and have a wide foot. I cannot wear the ladies cap toe paddock boots at all, although I have owned many over the years and end up giving them away due to the pain. However I recently was in a shop that carried mens, size 8 which is the same as a womens 9.5, but wider in the toe area. And, actually they can be ordered even wider still! I often have had to order a ladies in a 10 just to have room for toes. Great solution. Great boots. Worn them since Ariat girls first came out with them...a long long time ago!

I've have many pairs of these and a great long wearing comfortable. I have bad ankles and these help so much being able to lace and support my ankles. They wear forever and i"m hard on boots. I order wide width.. Its hard to find wide width riding boots. I bought a black saddle so I had to have Black boots to match. I usually ordered the brown. This is the best price I ever paid....Prompt delivery....This was my first time ordering from this site. I couldn't belive how much cheaper they were!

This is my third pair of these boots. I'm still using the first pair for training and the second pair for showing. This pair will be my "extra!" I have a narrow ankle and these lacers fit perfectly and provide support for all of the hours that I wear them. They also "wear like iron" in all kinds of weather. Love them!

I bought my first pair of these boots in 1999 in Montana, and am still wearing them. They are my best friends boots and have been worn hard and are still in pretty good shape. I just bought a new pair and love them. The leather in the new pair does not seem quite as supple but I think they will break in nicely.

I bought these boots for horseback riding lessons and they are perfect. I have wide feet, I printed out the size guide and measured my foot first. I usually wear a 7 but I got these in 7 1/2 wide and they fit perfectly even with socks on. They have great cushion and sturdy ankle support which you need for horseback riding. They aren't too tight and very comfortable. They also arrived quickly and were well packaged. Totally worth it!! I recommend pulling the laces completely out when you first get it, put on the boot then relace so you get a more comfortable fit.

I loooove these boots. The fringe gives them such an extra little something, and I adore it. They're very comfortable. Kind of narrow, but work great for my feet. My favorite boots.

I bought my first pair of these used at a tack shop. 1) most comfortable paddock boots I have every worn. 2) love LOVE LOVE the Kiltie. 3) incredibly durable. I bought mine very used and I wore them pretty much daily for two years. I kept them out of the mud but other than that I wore them to muck, wash the horse, walk, everything. I wear them 4-7 hours per day, 5-7 days per week. The leather is still in decent shape...I'm only getting a new pair because the sole is giving out a TINY bit and I haven't taken care of the soles very well. Actually, I haven't taken care of the entire boot other than keeping them out of the mud. Remember, I bought them used, wore them HARD for two years and they're STILL kicking. But I am buying a new pair anyway. Because I deserve it.

I was so surprised at how comfortable these boots were. I opened them and decided to walk around in my place to break them in. No need for that as the insides have so much cushion and comfort. Your going to love these boots.

I have been wearing these lacers for years, thanks to a recommendation of a friend of my mom's who knows about the trouble I have had with my feet since I was a kid. They are by far the best boots I have ever tried, and I will stick with them!
After all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. ;)

LOVE THESE BOOTS! True to size, best boots I've ever owned. I have two other pair of Ariats (Beatle-style and cowboy boots) and love them all!

I bought this boot about 20 years ago and really loved it. I was very happy to find it again. I ordered the boots and received them a few days ago. I really love the boots. They are exactly the same as the old boots. A little stiff at first but that is to be expected. I know from the last pair I had that they will soften up. The last pair were so comfortable I wore them all day every day. I have never had a pair of boots as comfortable as these. GREAT JOB ARIAT!!!!

These run a size large. They are beautiful and of great quality. I have 6 other pairs of Ariat's. So, yup. Love this brand. So I am VERY SAD I can't make these work. The 8.0 was too large so I tried the 7.5. These 'fit' (I'm normally an 8.5 all other shoes). I have high insteps, more on one foot than the other. Regretfully, these shoes have a seam where the leather of the top of the boot meets the fabric tongue. This seam runs right across the top of my instep and on one foot is simply way to tight and binding. Because it is leather sewn to fabric I don't have high hopes these would stretch - as would be the case with all leather. After wearing them for an hour I didn't feel any give and they just plan hurt - even with laces fully loose. So sad, they would be so cute. I gave them 5 stars even though they don't work for my specific feet.

I ordered 2 sizes 6 1/2 and 7 as most of the reviews were stating to size a half size down. The size 7 was recommended by Zappos and they were right. As for the width, i have a narrow foot and the fit was perfect. I would not recommend these for anyone with a wide width. Even a medium width may feel tight. The leather is a soft feel which is normal for deer skin. These are not to wear in rain or snow. Dry weather only. I Love the boots

I loved wearing these. I wore them every day for about 6 months and they held up very well. I work retail and I'm on my feet walking 9000-10,000 steps a day and these were great! My feet are FLAT and the arch support helped me immensely. Definitely felt stabilized with these boots!
After these wore down I tried another boot by this brand, also very good! They just make great shoes!

This boot was comfortable from the very beginning. I have a narrow foot and it was the only boot I could find that would work for me.

First of all, I couldn't have ordered my correct size without printing off the size chart. For years I have worn either an 8 or 8 1/2 Medium. I measured my feet on the printable chart and ordered a 9 Wide. They fit beautifully!!
Finally, the quality of the leather and construction of the boots is top notch! They are light weight and very durable. I have no problem working in these boots all day. I have also received many compliments because they are just as stylish as they are practical!

These are well-made boots that to me are also quite striking-looking. I read a review that said they were not feminine, and I must respectfully disagree. I think they do look sharp and tailored, not biker-girl clunky, and still have a cool vibe to them! Perfect with leggings or slim leg jeans. I may get brave and try them with a skirt! Super comfortable - didn't even have to break them in, and was on my feet most of the day the first time I wore them. I wear an 8 1/2 in most shoes but usually get boots in 9 so I can wear socks with them. Many helpful reviewers recommended not sizing up, so I got the 8 1/2, and they were perfect even with socks. I love these boots, and am so glad I got them! (P.S. I think the kiltie is a super cute addition and will keep the kiltie on! Makes them stand out from so many other ankle boots!) Thank you for fast service as always, Zappos!

I buy these boots in a 9C and they fit perfectly. Have worn them for 20 years or more. Most comfortable shoe I own. Wish all my shoes were this comfortable and durable. Use them to ride, do cow and horse chores, cut wood, anything I need protection and ankle support for. I also have a bunion on my left foot which is why I wear the C width and they work great. I'm diligent about keeping them oiled since they do get wet quite often and want to protect and preserve them as much as possible. They usually last at least two years before I feel like I need to order another pair. The last pair separated where the sole and the leather come together after 3 years of wear.

Hi I just wanted to show my gratitude and satisfaction to the Ariat company... I have owned these Heritage lacers since around 2004 I believe. They've gone through barn muck, western trail riding, and every season and weather condition imaginable...yet are still going strong! At the same time that lacers became popular, so did Leather Therapy products, which have helped these boots along the way. Thanks so much for a good quality boot that is continuing to hold up 14 years later!

I bought my original pair after a breakup. They were one of those emotional shopping trip buys. Fell in love with them immediately. For five years I wore them nearly every single day. To work, my classes, dates, while riding...you name it. Finally the second pair of laces I bought for them last spring gave out and I replaced them with full leather laces. Huge mistake. My young dog got a hold of them and very carefully pulled the laces out and ate them...then she ate my boots. I was so close to giving my dog away. I went nearly a year without them but this last Christmas, my girlfriend bought me a new pair of the brown heritage boots and surprised me with them on Christmas. Not going to lie, I cried like a baby. The leather on these are different than the olds one used to be, but they're ageing so nicely. The leather is darkening and softening up just right. I wear either these or my Birkenstocks, I can't imagine my life without these stupid boots.
