I love this boot so much. I live in Seattle, where it rains a lot and they're highly water resistant (waterproof is a term I reserve for wellies and submarines). I can walk for miles in them comfortably even with my super high arches and bunions, I can ride my bike in them and they don't slip on the pedals, the soles are non-slip on many surfaces even when wet. My only problem with them is that I've had mine for about a year now and worn them almost daily in the cooler months and the soft rubber sole is already worn down and the button on one of the straps popped off. But they're so comfortable and water resistant that I bought a second pair. If they made them more durable then they'd be a 5 star boot for sure.

Cute boot but the shaft is really wide. My calf is 13" at the widest point and even with skinny jeans tucked in, I could still fit my whole hand (up to my wrist) into the boot. Toe box is also pretty wide.

Broad foot pad area, unlike the Merrell Spire Peaks, which have a slim footprint. These fit larger calves better than the Spire Peak. They look good with jeans and are warm in cooler temperatures. However, they seem to lack the bouncy cushion I came to love in the Spire Peaks.

I love this boot. They don't look so thick and wide on your foot as in the picture, but have a great steampunk/military look to them. I ordered an 8.5 (roughly my usual size, depending on brand), and the foot bed fit beautifully with and without thicker socks. But even with just leggings or thin socks the shaft fit very snugly around my calf. I decided to send them back and try the 9, but there was almost no difference at all in the shaft size (a very helpful Zappos employee said there was a 1/8" difference), and then the foot bed and ankle was too loose and it hurt to walk in them. My calves aren't especially large, and it's possible these would have stretched (the leather feels great, though it does scuff very easily), but my calves are big because I walk a lot and can't handle break-in time. I am sending them back.

I love these boots! Very comfortable--I could walk for a while in them. The top is a little tight on my calves, but I have pretty muscular calves and after wearing the boots a few times, the leather is beginning to stretch a little. I would recommend these boots.

One major complaint is that I can't zip them all the way up. Therefore, that is why I chose a 3 for both comfort and overall. I have a little over 14 inch calves. You should measure the thickness in your calves 1st, prior to buying these boots.

I bought these boots twice, and both times one of the faux buttons popped off. They were the perfect boots otherwise, but I'm going to have to go with something else.

The boot was the right length, but the toe box felt too shallow. I have the ankle high tetra which is quite comfortable, so I was surprised that these do not fit.

I would have loved these boots because they are very comfortable and stylish, but they were just way too wide at the top. I had almost 2 inches of space around my calf, so when I walked the boot slapped back and forth. I tend to have narrow calves, but usually just wearing a thicker sock is enough, but not with these. I had to send them back.

The ankle area on this boot is really small. If you've got wide feet or a high instep, you'll be hard pressed to get your foot into this boot, and that's a shame since it is really cute in person.

The boots seem very well make and look even nicer in person than they do in the photo. My only gripe is that the sizing was weird. I normally take a 7 in boots, I couldn't even get the 7 on my foot. The 7.5s were a squeeze and the 8s were too big. I recommend trying these on in a store before purchasing. They are pretty cute so if you can find a pair that fit, I highly recommend them.

I love the style of these boots. My big complaint is that the buttons keep popping off. Merrell will fix them, but I don't like that they're not made to last. I'm disappointed in that aspect of the boot.

I loved the look of this boot! However, I could not get my foot in the boot without a lot of effort. I'm returning these because I don't think I'd ever be able to get them off without a boot jack.

I was looking for a super-comfortable, casual leather boot for walking around the city in, and I thought this might be the one. Sadly, it's not. I ordered my usual Merrell size (8.5) and even with very thin socks, could barely get my foot into them. I considered ordering a size up, but the soles were somewhat hard and not at all as comfortable as I'd wanted. I also wasn't impressed with the leather, it looked and felt a bit cheap. Hooray for free return shipping, though!

Beware of rivets. I really liked these boots. The style and the fact that they were waterproof were the selling points. However, I received the first pair and one of the rivets fell off after the first wearing. I exchanged them for another pair, and same thing happened with a different rivet.

I do not like this shoe at all. They look "ugly," bulky and not a good fit to my regular/narrow foot and ankle. I wear a size 10 but reading previous reviews of them running small I ordered 10.5. They were still too small but looked huge on my foot. I must say I don't get what the hype is about. Sorry, but it's a return, and I do not recommend them, not even for casual wear. Zappos was great about return, must find something else.

I received more compliments on these boots in one day than on all of my other shoes combined...and I have some other great shoes and boots!

Great shoes! Wore them for just a few days before embarking on 3 weeks of travelling in Ireland. These shoes were on my feet daily and brought total joy in wearing.

I love these boots. I bought them because I recently moved to Portland, OR and didn't have any good quality waterproof boots. I love that these are functional, sturdy, and very well made, but also have some style. I can't attest to their actual waterproofness as of yet, since it's summer here and hasn't been raining much at all. If you want to wear very thick socks with these I'd size up half a size. Also--give it one or two wears for them to break in a little bit. I'm usually a 6.5 and the 7's felt really tight at first. But after a few wears--they're perfect. I'm sure these will last a long time, but I think I'll be buying more Merrell's in the future.

I've worn these boots to school and on several long walks and they are very comfortable. Since they have a side zipper I avoid larger puddles, but they seem to work just fine for rainy days. If you are obsessive about keeping your shoes scuff free, these are not the boots for you. They can and will scuff here and there, which for me adds to the character of the boots. I did have to send back the first pair for a half size larger than what I normally wear.

I am so happy with these boots! I bought them before going on vacation to Seattle, because I knew I needed some good stylish water resistant boots that would also be great for walking around, needless to say, these were perfect! I am usually a 6 in Merrells, and although my foot fit perfect, the 6 was a bit too snug in the ankle and calf, so I returned for 6.5. The foot bed was roomier, but allowed for an insole and thicker socks, which came in handy. Also, the ankle and calf was roomier to fit my jeans under. I did notice that on one boot, it is starting to wrinkle from my foot step, where as the other boot is completely smooth, don't know why. But overall they are awesome boots, I would suggest ordering a half size up if you would like the added flexibility of having an insole and thicker socks. I'm sure the smaller size would have stretched eventually, but I didn't have time to break them in. Overall great purchase and awesome speedy service from Zappos team, as always! Thanks!

I just bought my second pair of these after finally wearing through the first. The first pair lasted through my wearing them every single day for four Vancouver winters while staying entirely waterproof, warm, and comfortable. After all this hard use they were still in respectable shape, but the soles were worn thin, the zipper sticking, and the leather cracking. However, in a pinch I can still wear them, and think that four consecutive years of wear (every single day for six months) in rain and slush, casual and more dressy occasions, is pretty amazing. The new pair looks so... new! I cannot wait to take them out for a spin. They are incredible boots. I would give them 10 stars if I could.
