PAIN. Let me preface this review by saying I have very flat feet, and a surgically mis-repaired left foot. I only wear specific Hoka shoes now, but I ordered these after searching for best sandals for flat feet, and was convinced by the German brand and quality reputation. I could not put these sandals back in the box for return fast enough. Shock waves of pain came through immediately. These sandals look comfortable enough, but nein. Nein, nein, nein!

After reading the reviews on size and fit of this shoe, I decided to order the narrow and a size smaller. They fit well, but when I went to walk around, they were very uncomfortable. They are very hard, no cushy at all. I think my feet would be a wreck if I wore these for even just an hour! I was so disappointed because I've always heard that Birkenstocks are so comfortable.

The dye from these rubbed off on my feet! I’ve worn Birkenstock’s for years and this is the first time that has ever happened. The black oiled leather is more of a dark grey, not a true black. It appears Birkenstock has really cut back on quality.

Your size charts don't make sense. It would help if you had a picture of and actual shoe next to a ruler. Particularly for sandals. Mine came in for someone with really fat feet. Buckles on the tightest hole and they fell of my feet with no effort.

I had a pair of these 25 years ago. I thought it would be nice to get another pair. I knew that they took a little time to break in... But what I got surprised me. I chose the oiled leather thinking that this might be softer. But all of the leather was completely stiff and the edges of the straps were surprisingly sharp. When putting them on they immediately started cutting into the top of my foot. Ouch. Also, I chose the soft footbed. I have no idea what is supposed to be soft but when walking with these things on, there was no cushion, no comfort and the leather on the top cut into my foot. Honestly, my tiled floor felt softer than these things. In short, I would think that a $125 shoe should not have any one of these issues. Also, there is not enough "cool" factor for me to want to suffer through the breaking in of an uncomfortable pair of shoes.

Not too happy with the width, or the sizing. Think I’ll have to return. Sadly. I wanted to love them.

I'm returning them. The color is brown. Like boring gross brown. Not this nice lighter brown/ tan color you see here. And probably because they're unisex the straps along the top look manly. Way thick and I'm awkward places. For men they're fine but not for women. Not in my opinion. They also arrived scratched up.

Love these sandals. I was new to birckenstock, and I didn't realize how high the arches are. It took a couple days to get used to, but now they're great. Love the color and fit!

These sandals have very slick soles. When they arrived, I put them on started down the stairs and took a tumble all the way down. Boxed them up and returned them.

My Tokyos and Milanos are very comfortable, so I expected to like the Arizonas. However, the buckles lay on top of the toe tendons and created instant pain, like they were poking nerves. I could not even sit for 5 minutes with them on. No amount of ajustment worked, so I had to return them.

I am a perfect size 9. I ordered the corresponding size, a 40. The were a full size too large. The regular width is extremely wide. They are definitely made for a man. I returned them and ordered a pair of Memphisto because I love the ones I bought a few months ago. Those are much more comfortable and cushy, plus they are true to size. They are worth the extra money!

This pair of Birks are huge and I've also noticed that the sandals are noticeably different in color not good will return for a refund and try another brand

Haven't had a new pair of Birkenstock in about 5 years and feel the quality has suffered some. The leather is thin and sharp edged. Felt like I was wearing a cork and cardboard sandal. Returning.

A word of caution. The stain on these sandals rubs off on your foot! I wore this same style of sandal when I was in high school - the same oiled leather Birkenstock - and never had this happen before. The top of my foot and toes are black! I have worn them for the last two hours, and this was the result. Although I love the sandal, I'm not sure what to do about this. A word on sizing, too: I typically wear between a 6.5 and 7 in women's shoes. I sized down to a 36 for these. They fit perfectly; I'm not sure you'd want a ton of extra room above the toe as it might affect where the toe ridge falls. Plus, it's been my experience that these sandals significantly stretch out over time. The footbed should fit your foot well and your foot should fill out the entire area without a ton of room to spare for it to support your foot right. I'm not sure if these sandals will make it to see that, though. I might be sending them back.

The shoe fit perfectly and was a beautiful color. However, my granddaughter wanted the darker, oiled leather shoe.

I had Birkenstocks years ago and had no issues with fit. These are not wide enough for my feet. I am sorry to have to return.

stiff & miserable footwear

The sandal’s I received were definitely used and the buckle was broken. You could see the sweaty foot print of whoever had the sandals before me and they had spilled something on the toe area. It was very gross and I returned them immediately.

I would avoid these. The cork on my split within a month of getting the sandals. A 20 dollar pair from target lasted me for three years….i guess ill go back to those.

I received this item without its original packaging. I think I like the style and I know Birkenstocks are comfortable. I'm not reading it high enough mostly because of the packaging

These looked a little beat up already when I opened them. But all in all they were good I just liked the all black pair better.
