Excellent buy; excellent service. Life long Birkenstock customers; know the product. One of few products actually using quality leather on the footbeds; don't you miss that?

I ordered some sandals from an online shoe source not believing that they could be shipped to me in less than 10 days. To my great surprise they were delivered to me the very next day! I love Zappos.com and recommend them to anybody out there who's reading this. I had to look up and see if they were located across town because my shipment got here so fast. I found out that they were in Kentucky and those guys must have stayed up all night to get my shipment out that fast. I'm an ex-mail carrier so I know how long it takes to get a package through the mail, too.

I have tried several pairs of Birkenstock shoes, but I've came to the realization that these are absolutely not for flat feet. If you have flat feet, I would highly recommend trying something else. The very pronounced Arch makes this sandal extremely uncomfortable for those with flat feet.In addition to this, my toes tilt inward a little bit, which causes my toes to land on the ridge which would normally go between your big toe and the rest of your toes. So, in short, unless you have very average and completely normal feet, Birkenstocks may not be for you. Other than that, the sandals are very well made and I enjoy the styling.

Have owned two pairs of the Tobacco Birkenstock's, purchased my third and they are definitely not the correct color. To be honest, I don't even know that this is a color Birkenstock offers so I am super confused, although the box states Tobacco Brown it is not. As you can see in the photo the colors are extremely different, and mine had even darkened significantly over time. I am returning for the correct color so hopefully I get them.

My first pair of Birekenstocks and I LOVE THEM!!! I am a solid 8.5, regular width. I first ordered the 39 narrow and they were way too big (long). So, I went to a couple of different stores and tried different sizes and widths to see what I really needed. I found that my perfect fit and preference is the 38 regular. While the 38 narrows did fit me, I prefer the regular width in these. I like that my foot is completely completely flat and toes have all the room to spread out. Will also leave room for socks in the colder months. I personally think the regular width looks cuter and more natural, despite what most other females seem to like. That’s just my opinion, and what makes me comfortable. No break in period required for me- so comfortable as soon as I slid my feet in!! My heel is cupped perfectly in the back end of the shoe and my toe area has plenty of room and my feet do not slide around. There is info on how to fit Birkenstocks properly, which helped me tremendously. Zappos was awesome with the exchange if the first pie and it was fast and easy!!! Perfect shoes!

I wear a women's size 12 (men's 10.5), medium width, and ordered a narrow 42 in the Birkenstock oiled leather. The fit perfectly cradles my foot, a 43 would have been too large. The oiled leather style seems more sturdy, better looking, and worthy of the price than the suede or non-oiled leather alternatives. I recommend sizing down and if you usually get an average women's width size, get the narrow.

I love Birkenstocks! I just added these to my collection two weeks ago and they have very easily become my favorites. I love how easy these are to just slip on and run out the door in. If you’re a half size I recommend going down a size, for example I’m a 9.5-10 and I went to a 9 and they fit perfect! I wear them with everything!! Love love love them.

Absolutely love these sandals. I had a pair in college and they lasted until the sole wore completely down to the cork. They mold to your feet. They will be a little stiff at first and my feel strange on your arches but once they mold to your foot they are awesome. Size: since they come in whole sizes that can be tricky. I wear a 10.5 to 11 shoes and the size 11 was a little to big. Ended up with the size 10. Size is important because they have to fit your foot fairly close for the arch support to be in the right place. They are worth the money!

I already knew I loved Birks, but I love, love, love these turquoise oiled leather Arizona Birks. They are excellent quality and comfort-wise, just as I expected (Birk sandals seem to be a love or hate thing for people. I'm a loyal Birkie). Thank you for the excellent service, as always, Zappos. To the person questioning the Narrow size: Birkenstock shows the width by the little foot-shaped icon on the footbed of your sandal. An open foot, scoop carved out - means it's narrow. A solid, or closed foot means its regular width. I ordered narrow, as I always do, and that's what I got.

Love Birkenstocks. And I’ve ordered several pair from Zappos. I did not have any luck with the tobacco color though in 40 narrow. First pair I ordered was obviously used with light toe prints and damaged straps. Costumer service was very helpful and immediately replaced them. The second pair came the next day but were worse than the first. They looked like they’d been worn for months with a very obvious footprint in them. Called customer service again and again they were very helpful but now my size isn’t available. Customer is great and I’ve never had this problem before so I’ll likely order again.

This is my first pair of Birkenstocks and now I see what all the fuss is about. They are very comfortable and supportive once they are broken in. I wear a women's size 7.5 and I have wide feet. The unisex 38 regular width fit just fine. I broke them in by wearing them in the house for a few hours each day and the heat of your body seems to help mold your feet to the insole of the sandal. Also: for those of you with bad feet may I also suggest the Birkenstock insole? they make every pair of closed-toe shoes instantly more comfortable!

Bought these for my son and as he lives across the country from me, made him go try a pair on before we purchased to get the size and width correct. He did and boy is he happy! I was just visiting him on the west coast a few days ago and even on a chilly day he was excited to show me he was wearing them. The leather is a nice dark brown, the fit is perfect. You can never go wrong with Birkenstocks! And Zappos service is always A++

These shoes are like medicine for your feet. I had a pair years ago and wore nothing else when I was recovering from a dancer's fracture. Recently, I re-injured my foot (it didn't help that I'd been wearing lots of shoes without good arch support) and I had to get another pair of Birks--I was craving the feel of these insoles. It feels like they realign my whole body when I put them on. It is essential to get the right fit to get that amazing pressure-point relieving comfort--I wear average-to-narrow width, size 9 women's shoes, and the 39 (listed as an 8) in a narrow width with the straps tightened almost all the way fits perfectly. I'm planning on getting some insoles for my winter shoes, too. It seems that Birkenstocks are an essential for my feet to stay happy. Also, thank you Zappos for sending them so quickly!

I love my Birks! I wear these to work, walking around SF, I even bring them with on vacation. These babies have been my trusted companions on trips to waterfalls in Thailand, hiking the Andes in Peru, and climbing the pyramids of Mexico! Great for all terrains...until you get a pesky rock under your foot. But it's easily shaken out so no complaints from me! The only real issue is when they get wet, the soles get dirty quickly and the brown grime that accumulates can be hard to get rid of. I've tried baking soda+ putting them in the freezer for a couple days. Works moderately well, but I'd advise to not get them wet if you can. Additionally, the straps do loosen up quite a bit over time and I felt even the smallest hole was not tight enough for the width of my foot in the Regular width style. I'm gonna try the Narrow width next!

Birkenstocks are the best! I have a pair of Mayori, which I bought a few years back and still in excellent condition, but decided to buy another pair. I read a lot of reviews about sizing, because I always felt that my Mayori were a bit large. This time, ordered my regular size, but narrow. I don't have exceptionally wide feet, but I was a little concerned. As soon as I put them on, all concern was gone!! Fit like a glove and not at all tight or uncomfortable. Wish now I had know this about my first pair! I have black oiled leather and that did take a couple days to break in, but even in that time period, never uncomfortable!! Love them and love ZAPPOS!!

I purchased these shoes on a different site but I have had such a positive result from wearing them that I just had to give them a review in hopes that I can help someone else who is experiencing the same thing I had been going through. I had suffered from planter Fasciitis for over a year. To try and relieve the pain I have tried physical therapy, multiple cortisone injections, a procedure called needling, shoe inserts, expensive shoes that were guaranteed to help, and was gearing up for surgery because the pain was unbearable and had impacted my life so much. I could no longer take a simple walk with the dog or walk for any length of time with out limping and extreme pain. I wish I had gotten a pair of these shoes when I first started developing planter fasciitis. I would say within a week I could tell they were helping. After wearing them for a whole summer I am back to normal, I wear a pair all the time in doors as slippers and I have gotten a few different styles for outdoor use. This style sandal has worked the best and I highly recommend them.

I originally purchased a EU size 43 for my husband. He typically wears a US size 10.5. The original sandals were about 1/2 size too large, so we returned for a EU size 42. Those fit like a charm. He loves the arch support and overall comfort of the leather. I love the ease of shopping with Zappos - amazing customer service, easy exchanges, and quick shipment.

I have very high arches and Birkenstocks are the only shoes where my feet do not hurt at the end of the day. These are awesome! True to size and the oiled leather is comfortable from the beginning. I wear a size 9.5 and wear a 40 in Birkenstock. Highly recommend!

After reading the reviews, I ordered size 38 narrow instead of the 39 narrow that the size chart said I should order for my size 8 feet. I should have ordered the 39 narrow because with the size 38 narrow my toes are too close to the lip that goes across the front of the shoe. When I walk, my toes bump up against the lip which will be uncomfortable. Fortunately for me my daughter's feet are a little smaller so I gave the shoes to her and I'll order myself a new pair. Other than the size issue, they're comfortable and feel good to walk in.

I have very narrow and long feet (12A). This is the fifth pair of 45N Birkies I have purchased since 1977 when they were scarce in the US, and I was a struggling graduate student! After the initial agonizing first few days, they fit like a dream. I wear them everywhere, they get wet, they dry out, they walk, they're great for me.

I've been wearing this particular model for decades. I use them as slippers in the house. They are fantastically good for your feet. Nothing cured my plantar fasciitis until I began wearing these, then, in less than a couple of months it was gone and it hasn't returned.

I love these shoes! The leather will only look better with age. The narrow width is good for an average woman's foot. You can never have too many birks, they are the best!

I'll start by saying I wasn't sure what size to order, which width to order, which style to order - I was a mess. I finally settled on this style, as it's the most versatile and seems to be designed to match everything. I generally wear a 7.5-8 in shoes. I listened to the other reviewers and ordered down a size which made me a 37, and I got both narrow and regular width. First off, the 37 fit perfectly. It hugged my foot in all the right places and felt very natural as soon as I put it on. As far as width, I notice that the regular width allowed for a lot of movement in the shoe. Also, it just LOOKED wider. So I opted to keep my 37 Narrow. I started by wearing it an hour or so at a time. Now it's all I wear - I feel like I'm not even wearing shoes! A+ rating for now....

After much sole and soul searching, I find no other shoe that meets my requirements to not press on toes toes room to wiggle and breathe, and yet the heel area is not too wide, and they are enough of a "shoe" that I can wear these for work, too. I am please with the quality workmanship. I would like to point out as well if any readers are not sure, that these *are* the classic, firm innersole, (not the soft foot bed). Plus I am happy to know these can be repaired and maintained. I'll be wearing these with skirts. As always, thank you Zappos for great shipping and return policies.
