Received the shoes in a plastic bag rather than the Birkenstock box. Buckles were not open and the label missing. Obviously previously worn. Returned to Zappos and will order directly from Birkenstock this time

This is the third pair of Birkenstocks sandals I have had to return for being excessively wide. I ordered regular width, and I do not have a narrow foot, yet the shoes were falling off even with the straps fully tightened. I have had Birkenstocks in the past and this has never been a problem before. Also, this was clearly a pair that was returned, and it was not well packed at all. It looks like a pair of use shoes.

The leather and footbed in these Berks is very hard. Rubbed and gave me a blister in top of each foot. Have no idea how long it will take to break them in.

I ordered the narrow, and the length and width were fine. However, these were the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever tried on. I have low arches and the arch area of the shoe was very painful for me. I think if you have normal to high arches, this shoe would be much better. For low arches or flat feet, I don’t recommend.

When I received the sandles it appeared they had been previously worn. They were not in a Birkenstock box either. I requested to return the sandles for a refund. I was told the terms of the sale prohibited a refund and I would get a credit on my account. I said that didn't sound correct and she did not back off.
I'd also recommend:
Buy from the Birkenstock store directly.

I’ve been happily wearing Birkenstock for years …many styles. Having said that, these were so uncomfortable that I can’t believe it. I’ve only worn them twice…unhappy the first time and finally retried again today. They are just uncomfortable as the first time. I can’t wear them and don’t understand why so I just have to return them

I have been wearing this same style of Birkenstocks for many, many years, and just received my newest pair. Even though they are the same size I always wear (38) the footbed has changed, and is so narrow at the toe area that the toes on the outer part of my foot are hanging out!! This is both odd and disappointing. Holding them up to my older Birkenstocks, the footbed is indeed narrower and more 'pointy'. I am not sure why they changed the design, but these are not the comfy cozy Birkenstocks that they used to be!

I am probably a 9.5 shoe size, but normally buy 10s, partially due to width. I purchased these as a 10, and they are incredibly uncomfortable due to the sculpted footbed. As these are so quickly warn in, I was not able to return the shoe - as such, I cannot give them a good review at this time.

I purchased these shoes as a gift for my son, every year I buy him a new pair of Birkies. He received them about a week ago but I had not seen them. They aren't black, they're dark navy! I called to let them know, and was offered an exchange, but they have been worn and the box is thrown away. Customer service gave me a $15 credit. Be warned!!! These shoes are NOT black!

My son (age 13) wears a men’s 9.5 I ordered size 42 to give a little room to grow. They don’t look too big. Adjust straps to allow how far you want your foot forward. This divides the extra space to both the front and back and they look perfect. I initially ordered 41 and his feet just fit in the sole. He could have a growth spurt next week and the 41 would have been too small.

Sadly, I had to return this pair of Birkenstock sandals because they were incorrectly described as "medium" (or B) in the LL Bean catalog. They were too narrow for me.
They are not actually Medium but Narrow, as evidenced by the marking in German on the box. The German says that this style comes in "narrow" (schmale weite) or "regular" (weite).
I have had four pairs of Birkenstocks, all regular width, that fit well and lasted for years. If you have always worn regular width Birkies, these may be too narrow for you, also.

I have worn Birks for years! The footbed always had a soft cushion layer between the suede and the cork footbed. But, Birkenstock has made a big change in their shoes and removed that layer, unless you specifically buy a pair now with the 'comfort footbed', which costs extra! LLBean, I wanted to notify you that what you are selling as having the 'classic footbed' with the 'extra-soft foam layer' actually does not have it. I ordered the black leather pair, which came today. I was disappointed to find it has the same new 'hard' sole - suede right on the shaped footbed - as most new Birkenstocks now. It's also a narrow pair, but was described as Medium B in the catalogue. I will have to return these. :(

I was really disappointed to see the inside of the right sandal was very scratched up, as if someone used a sharp blade.
A brand new pair of shoes should NOT have razor-like scratches. Shame on you for sending these to a valued customer.
