Too hard to break in

The shoes arrived in a generic box … not the one from Birkenstock. Who switched them out? The carrier or Zappos? The packaging wasn’t “frustration free” . It made me wonder what has happened to them. The pair before this that I ordered from Zappos arrived in a mangled box. What is happening that the shoe boxes are being damaged? I’ve worn this style shoes for years but I am a bit concerned about the history of a pair that arrives like my latest ones.

Disappointed! I ordered Tobacco Oiled Leather and I was sent Black. Wasn't the color I wanted so had to return.

I liked these but something is wrong with the leather after the buckle. It does not lie flat. Ordering another pair. Hopefully it will arrive in time for vacatiton.

I have a low arch but not a naturally flat foot. I did not expect these shoes to leave my arches so blistered. From the moment I first put these on they hurt! I followed the fit videos on the Birkenstock website. I even measured to make sure I was doing it right. I read that they have a “break in” period so I kept wearing them a little at a time to break in the cork soles. While the cork did break in, the blisters on the side of my inner arches comes back every time I wear them. I wish I had not trusted the “break in” period because now it is too late to return them as they are used. I wish the fit would have worked because I think they’re versatile shoes otherwise.

The fit was right BUT the sandal activated the bunions on my feet. Sadly, my feet hated these sandals and had to be returned.

To stiff and not comfrotable

The straps on left shoe were stretched out/worn. Very odd. Had to return.

I just got these and either the color has changed or I got a different color. I have another pair of the tobacco brown in a different style but these are much lighter. I usually wear a 8.5 in most shoes but wear a 38R in birks. I don’t have wide feet but I prefer the regular footbed. Also, the ones I received were in a generic box and obviously worn. I love Zappos and this is the first time I am disappointed.

I had to return these as they were way too large.

Way too wide!!!

These things are huge! I ordered a size smaller than my fit and they were about 2 inches long. I reordered down a full size and again they were way too long. I feel bad returning things so I'm getting a refund. I'm a men's size 8.5-9, I'm guessing a 6 Birkenstock might fit?

I wore them for 2 years. The heel wore a huge hole in the middle on one of them. I thought they would last longer than 2 years!

Ok came is a generic box looked like they were tried on the and not returned to “unused condition” the leather was scratched up as well. I do know that this can and will happen with daily use. But this was not the case. I have sent 2 pairs back and have yet to receive my refund. Even when I paid out of pocket for priority mail. Since I am stationed overseas this is the only guaranteed way to send it back to you without it walking off at the post office

I wrote a review recently saying I had ordered a 38 US 7-7-5 first what I found very unusual for me I just didn't see it wasn't a soft bed sandal or wouldn't have ordered them to be fair I have a problem with my feet especially right foot so can't wear a hard footbed so my mistake then I read a very helpful review about Unisex sizing so since I said too wide and long I thought maybe I made a mistake and ordered wide so checked the box and was sent my size US 7 but a European size 37 which is not listed as a choice but I guess they have them but doesn't change the fact they were too long and wide so that review I read who said Unisex being men's sizes too made a difference to her but confused me when got my size a 7 were still too long and wide so Unisex sizing may not be relevant to many but was for me too I like to read reviews they can be very helpful with this sandal what learned was most love them to be fair not Zappo's fault that some of us have problems with our feet and/or sizing still on Zappo's looking for flats not loafers, sandals, or mesh I finally figured out from many I tried and returned I need a more structured shoe that's what is best for me
