Great lightweight, windproof and waterproof jacket for cramming in your backpack. It is sized to fit over a fleece and is very well made.

I bought this light jacket prior to a September trip to Europe (Scandinavia). Although we ended up not getting a lot of rain, the temperatures were quite cool (down to the upper 30’s and low 40’s) and we had some windy days. I did not take any other jackets, just various light/heavy shirts including a sweatshirt. Using the jacket as a shell with shirts as needed worked out very well. The hood was useful with the cooler temperatures, too. When not needed, I folded the jacket to a compact size and put it away in my backpack. The pockets are quite large and I had plenty of room for maps, cameras, change, etc. It may have been nice to have a way to stow the hood when not needed, but that wasn't really a big deal. I bought the asphalt grey jacket. I wasn't sure I'd be okay with the bright green trim that comes with that color, but when I wore it I found out it didn't bother me at all. Overall, this is a great, light jacket.

Great Jacket! Comfortable & breathable!

I bought the North Face Hooded Venture jacket for my 16 year old son. He loves it and says it holds up very well in the rain. I've also washed it several times already and it holds up well in the washer/dryer. Also, I placed the order for this jacket late one evening, and amazingly, it arrived the very next day. Within a few days, I ordered a pair of shoes from a competitor, and it took nearly two weeks for them to arrive. Zappos is the way to go!

I was searching for a 100% waterproof rain suit for those torrential downpours we sometimes get here in New York City, well I definitely found it in the North Face venture jacket. Totally lightweight, comfortable, and as advertised totally waterproof. So get your North Face Venture jacket and match it up with the venture side zip pants and be totally dry like me!

I love this jacket. It is very good at keeping me dry. I ordered a mens medium. If you are between a medium and large, I would suggest the bigger size. Zappos was great! Tha jacket arrived the next day.

I placed my jacket order at around 7:00 pm one day. The next day when I got home from work at 4:00 pm, the jacket had been delivered. You talk about being shocked! And to beat it all, it was free shipping. I work in a distribution center. We have been told by our customers that we do a good job, but unless an order is placed by 3:00 pm, you are not going to see it the next day. And yes we have a second shift.

Bought this for my teenage son; he was always borrowing Dad's. It has been great so far; good fit and light weight; a good shell.

In addition to the splendid utility, this is a downright classy jacket. Always reassuring to have The North Face logo alone, but the zippers, cords and snaps combine to make this an outstanding investment. And, oh yeah, it is waterproof.

Great jacket will keep you very dry! Looks great and is good against the cold also depending upon how you layer underneath it. Very packable and good for traveling!

My husband and I purchased the same jacket for a trip to Australia and we absolutely love them. They're very conformable and fit well. Highly recommend them.

I purchased 2 of these as I have 18 year old twin boys. Sent them directly to the colleges they are attending. They love these jackets! Great for September rain but also will work in the winter/snow - just put a hoodie under it. They said jacket runs true to size.

I love this rain jacket! I wanted something light and packable and it's exactly that, and the breathable zippers under the arm pits are awesome! Would definitely recommend this jacket and I ordered it on a Saturday morning and received it Monday afternoon! Can't beat that shipping, especially when shipping was free.

Functional from a mom's perspective and stylish from a high school guy's perspective, because really what is more important? Ultralight so it packs well in backpacks for that unexpected rain shower or the hurricane that is approaching tomorrow. Love the underarm zipper air vents, a big change from the hot, yellow, fisherman slickers I wore in high school. Come on, I'm not that old, but it is probably time for me to invest in a women's Northface Venture jacket for myself.

I purchased XXL Black for my husband. He is 5 foot at 212 lbs of muscle. It fits a little big, but will be perfect when he needs to wear a sweatshirt or sweater underneath for warmth in the fall and winter months. The zipper under the arms is great for those hot rainy days.

Ordered this jacket a few days before heading to Mountain Jam in Hunter, NY. Jacket was delivered the next day, you can't get any better service than that! While on the mountain we had a pretty heavy rain storm and the jacket did it's job and kept me nice and dry. I am 5'10 at 173 lbs. I normally I fall in between a size medium and a large, so I ordered the large. Jacket fits perfect with the perfect amount of extra room without looking a size to big. This jacket may be used over warmer clothes but I wouldn't rely on this jacket for warmth. It is basically a wind breaker/rain jacket. I wouldn't mind having a few more of these jackets, great choice.

I got this jacket for my husband and he loves it. It is functional and also good-looking. The style is timeless and the color combo goes well with everything. The breathable fabric keeps you dry and comfy.

Great rain jacket even for the warmer seasons. The material is very light and breathable. Even though I am pretty sweaty in hot weather, wearing this jacket in rainy and humid weather did not bother me a bit. As everybody probably does, I tried it out in the shower and not a drop of water penetrated inside. The water just bounces off. I'm 5'8 with average build and a medium fits fine. I'd say it's pretty much true to size.The price is a little more than from other brands, but if you can find one that's on sale like I did (cheaper at Zappos). I would definitely go for it.

I bought this product two years ago and I have used it for every weather situation except scorching heat. I've used it in rain, storms, cool weather, and even snowy winters with a generic hoodie underneath for warmth (it works really well). It's very lightweight and easy to store so it's excellent for traveling. It's water resistant so you can stay dry. And lastly it's very stylish, I bought mine in brown and it goes great with anything I wear!If you're a bike commuter and/or messenger (or if you really like to bike) this is a great shell! It keeps you dry in the rain and breaks the wind when you're riding so you don't get too cold, if anything you'll get too hot because the material is so good at combating the elements, so I find myself opening the pit zips whenever I'm riding to keep my temperature down. Where I live it doesn't snow much, but I have used it in the snow whenever I traveled out of state and with great results. Just wear a hoodie underneath and you're solid!In conclusion I am very happy with this product and would definitely recommend it to anyone who finds themselves outdoors a lot. For the money this is a great investment because you can use it all year round and for many situations! Plus Zappos' has excellent service so if you're going to buy one buy it from here!

Great fit. Jake Blue is a great color. Light and waterproof. Perfect for storing in a backpack for hikes when you're just not sure if it's going to downpour on you!

Great windbreaker and outer rain coat. I got this jacket for working out in the rain. I was tired of being soaked all day. Super light weight, fits into a tiny pocket in my camping backpack, and protected me from the elements on a long adventurous trip out in the woods. Perfect for what I needed, and works best with a hoodie or fleece underneath.

I got this for my husband. A small (he is usually a small in most clothes) fit him well. He loves it because it is breathable and rainproof. A great buy! And the red was cheaper, too.
