Love my Fryes. I've been eyeing a pair for years in fear my calves won't fit and just overall comfort is a huge factor. Well, I love my Janes and received the vintage brown. About me, 5'2" so here we go: The Fit: the boot hits about 2 inches below my knee without the top of the boot touching the back of my knee. When you're short, this can be an issue. My calf is average width and the shaft fits perfect. I'm surprised there are no reviews that state that these boots feel like pair of clogs. I'm a huge Dansko clog lover so for a pair of boots to fit like a clog is amazing. I wear either a 7 or 7.5 in most shoes and the 7 fits great. A tad loose in the heel and plenty of room for your toes with thicker socks. The color is gorgeous. The vintage brown has black, brown, and reddish tones that make it easy to mix and match with my wardrobe. Looks great with dresses, skirt, and my new "jeggings" (recommend the Levis - they are tight but comfy and wallet friendly) fit just right tucked in. I did go to a cobbler to get some rubber soles added as leather bottoms tend to get slippery in the rain. Overall, exceptional quality on the craftsmanship and a beautiful investment. These boots are definitely worth the money. Doing a little jig in my Fryes.

I originally bought these in an 8½ (which is what I typically wear in Frye) and I could not get my foot into them. So, I exchanged them for a size 9 and they were perfect! The first time I wore them, I had them on for hours and walked miles. They are extremely comfortable and it definitely does not feel like you are wearing heels. The redwood is absolutely gorgeous and literally go with everything. I wear a size 4/6, but I am very athletic and have had issues in the past finding boots with a wide enough circumference. The 9's width is about 15½" which is perfect for tucking in jeans. They look awesome with leggings, jeans, dresses, or anything else. I am in love.

Finally found my dress up (or down) boots! Yea! Not my first choice (main love was the Carmen 14, but alas it had a weird lower calf). Also, questioned if the Jane Stitch would fit around my 15+" calves, but decided to give it a try. Glad I did. Heel height and fit through the feet is similar to the Carmen. Shaft height is perfect for my 5'9" height and calf area fits well. Leather is not as lovely as the Carmen, but still very nice. Thought a pull on would be a hassle and difficult, but boot slips on easily. No break-in time has been needed. Bit of heel slippage, but not a problem. Ordered two pairs to compare fit. One pair seemed too loose, but the other pair fits great. I got the black and would love to get the redwood too if finances allowed. I'm happy!

So disappointed. I ordered my usual 8.5 for Frye and I could not even get my foot into these. Maybe because I have a high arch? They do look like they run smaller than other Frye styles. The redwood is beautiful. I exchanged these for a 9. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I did a ton of research before I made this purchase. And the other reviews helped me so much; I felt I should leave my own comments too! I am 5'4", size 9 shoe and size 8 (29) jean. With very "athletic" calves I really struggle to find the perfect boot... and I was thinking I would need the extended calf version. (Jane 14L) The Verdict? I am extremely happy with these boots! The regular shaft fits snugly over skinny jeans, they come to about 2 inches below my knee, and the medium heel is very sturdy and provides a welcome little "boost". The leather is beautiful and they look like they will last forever. A perfect balance between an equestrian, cowboy and city boot! Love, love, love. Thanks for the great service Zappos... it took about 4 tries, but finally!

Thanks Zappos! I bought these boots on a Saturday and was upgraded to faster delivery courtesy of Zappos and received them on Monday night! I initially bought the Frye Melissa boots, but the shaft of the boot was too tall for me (as I am only 5’2”). I returned those and bought these in redwood and looove them. I just turned 30 and wanted a "grown up, womanly" boot. These are it, I feel chic when wearing them. I am between a 6.5 and a 7 and bought the 6.5 and they are perfect. They look good tucked into skinny jeans and the height of the boot was just perfect. It hit about an inch below my knee. Despite the fact that they have a heel, they were comfortable upon first wear. I did get a scuff already on the toe of the boot and I wish Frye would make a coloured cream so that it could cover the scuff, but that’s my only complaint. As with my other Fryes, they will only get better with age and are an investment piece.

I LOVE these boots. Every single time I wear them someone says, wow, those are beautiful boots. Then they take a closer look and say wow, they're good quality...wow, I can smell them! Every single one of my girlfriends has tried them on and expressed envy. :) They are incredibly comfortable and make you look well dressed even when just wearing jeans and a sweater. They look awesome with skirts and dresses too. I tried the Campus 14L but they were just not feminine looking at all. They are really well made and so comfortable inside I can even wear ankle socks and not have any issues walking 10 blocks. I am a size 6 in almost everything and these fit exactly. More importantly if you are having a hard time finding high boots because you have thick calves these are the boots. They fit PERFECTLY. I wanted them to be a tiny bit looser so I could put my jeans inside, I took them to a regular shoe repair guy and they stretched them just enough (not sure how they do it but you would never know it was done). I love the style of these boots and think I can wear them for the next 10 years easily. As one of my girlfriends put it: They're not cowboy boots but they have the feel of it. They're not pointy but they're not round...they're PERFECT.

In LOVE with these boots! I had originally received the Frye Melissa as a gift and love them, but wanted a little higher heel. The Janes are PERFECT! I normally wear a size 8.5 and have an VERY high arch. I ordered an 8.5 and at first they were a little challenging to get my foot all of the way in. With the help of the loops that are on the inside of the boot, I got them on and they fit great. I got the dark brown color and they are gorgeous. You can't go wrong with Frye boots. They are stylish and very durable. LOVE THEM!

Buy these boots! Buy them from Zappos! You will not be disappointed! They are feminine, well made, everyone compliments me when I am wearing them! They will last you forever! You get what you pay for, how many cheap, faux leather "trendy" boots did you keep for several seasons? Even if you did keep them - they most likely did not look good. Face it - quality costs money! But it is worth every penny. The only thing that would make them beyond perfect would be if thy had been made in the U.S.A. (made in Mexico does feel a little better than made in China).

Bought these boots in the Redwood color and loved them, I'm size 11 and they fit comfortably and true to size the calf was roomy but good. The height was great, I'm 5'7". The leather was soft and not stiff. Then decided to also get them in the black because they were marked down and I really wanted to love them but didn't. They were really stiff and dug into my calf. I'm sure they would have broken in but since I already have the redwood I figured I'd send them back. If I loved them right out of the box like the redwood boots, I would have kept them.

These are a gift from my husband. I have been wanting these boots for a long time. The boots are just beautiful; leather, stitching, heel, everything. Usually wearing a size 10, I got these in a 9.5 based on ratings. The 9.5 is snug in socks, a 10 may be better, but if I don't get a 10, the 9.5 will stay. These boots are worth the price and Zappos shipping is amazing! Bought at 8pm and received before 11am the next day. Wow!

I absolutely love Zappos! I ordered these on December 23rd and they arrived before noon on the 24th without a hitch. That being said I ordered both the redwood leather and the black leather that was in my normal half size smaller Frye's size of 8½ with the intention of only keeping one pair. I am walking around the house with one on each foot (tough to get into for my high arches but they are already stretching as I wear them) and I like the black a lot more than I thought I would (no distressing just sold black with wood heel), but I also love the redwood which reminds me of saddle leather. I have tried on a few outfits and they both go with all of them. So I definitely do not need to keep both, but I am going to sleep on it, they may both stay. I love the height, I am 5'10" and often boots are too short, but this pair comes to 3-4 inches below my knee. The heel height is fantastic at about 2 inches. This is a good investment for boots that will last forever.

Great boot! The color is more a dark brownish/blackish with some reddish and if that makes sense? Very comfortable and is a great every day boot! I am a solid 8 but usually size down a half size with Frye.

I ordered Redwood, which I would consider a dark cognac (so lighter than the picture, and not quite as brown) - a very nice and versatile color that goes with just about everything. The shaft of the boot is quite a good width. I have size 10 feet, and the 10 fit perfectly, whereas some 10s seem a bit small at times. (Compared to other Frye 10 boots, I think this runs a little larger.) Anyway, the shaft fits nicely over jeans, and the ankle is still not too loose. After a few wears, the leather loosens in this area, and it does slouch a bit. But they still maintain a nice shape. The padded footbed makes all the difference in the world. These are leaps and bounds more comfortable than my other Fryes. Why didn't they add this feature sooner?! I can tell they will wear well; the construction looks even better than my previous Frye boots. The price is a bit steep, but I got mine on another site at a discount. I can see myself wearing them a lot and would definitely say that they are worth it if you want a boot that will last a while. My Steven Intyce boots from last year looked "vintage" (read: crappy) after only a month. So for half the price, you can expect half the quality of what you will get with the Frye Jane.

I am head over heels for these boots. I do not want to ever take them off. Wore them for the 1st time yesterday, came home, changed into my jammie shorts and a tank top but kept the boots ON! It was a big splurge for me so I had high hopes and they've lived up to every one! I'm 6' and wear size 11 - I bought 11s and they fit perfect, so I'm glad I didn't go down to a ten. There's a bit of heel slippage, but I don't see it as a problem, I like to have a little room for my foot - they don't feel like they'll fall off or anything and don't chafe. Completely comfortable from the get go, no breaking in time. The dark brown will match everything, can wear it to work or just out and about. Haven't had a compliment in years and had a ton about how great these boots make my legs look in the just the last day and a half! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE.

I love this boot! I have rather large calves (widest part is a little bit over 16") and these boots were just a little bit too tight. I took them to the cobbler and got them stretched just a tad and now they are perfect. They look nice and they can easily be dressed up or down and they are pretty comfortable. These boots have a great silhouette and look even better on than in the picture. This is my 5th Frye purchase and I can say that their shoes are worth the money when it comes to comfort and quality.

FIVE STARS ALL AROUND!\\r\\n\\r\\nThese boots are fabulous!! They fit great and feel great! I\\\'ve had problems before finding boots that will fit over my calves but these turned out to be perfect for me. I got them in vintage brown and the color is stunning. You can dress them up and dress them down. The heel is the perfect height as well, so they\\\'re great for walking. I think they look best with skirts and dresses. I\\\'ve always been a solid 7 1/2 shoe size and these seemed a little loose when I first tried them on, but they fit perfectly when I wear tall socks which works out great because I live in the northeast and I\\\'ll be wearing them mostly in the winter. \\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n

I just received these yesterday from Frye in slate since Zappos didn\'t offer the slate color (of course I checked Zappos first!). This is my second pair of Frye boots and I am now a Frye girl for life! I don\'t think I\'d ever buy another brand of boot. These are beautiful! I have larger calves and these fit great. The heel is a good height for everyday, with jeans or skirts. I wanted a gray pair of boots desperately and am thrilled with this color. I\'ve found that Frye boots are stiff when you first put them on but they break in fast and mold to your foot! After seeing my two beautiful pairs of Frye boots my sister went on Zappos and ordered a pair of her own.

Fabulous Frye!!! One of my favorite all time purchases! These boots rock! I wear a 9 almost always, and went down a half size with plenty of toe room. They have a classic, ageless, timeless, "moneyed" look! I know I will have them forever! My first Frye boots are about 30 years old. I eventually wore through the leather soles of them, contacted Frye, and they will replace the soles free of charge! (After 30 years!) If only cars would last that long. Great investment dressing!

I love these boots. While they are a bit expensive, they are made quite well and I can see they will last as long as I take care of them. I wear a size 8 and they fit perfect to size with regular socks. I love the redwood color, it goes with most everything including other brown tones. I grew up in cowboy boots and find these go on and off just the same, so I am grateful I have my bootjack for removing. The insole is quite cushy but I added my inserts for additional support. The first time I wore them I had them on all day without any discomfort. Living in western Washington I will have many months of wear each year, so I feel price per wear wins out.

I love these boots! Right from the start they are so comfortable - even walking my dog they feel like slippers! Depending on the brand I can wear either a 8½ or 9. I decided to order the 9, I could probably have squeezed into the smaller size but these are fine, just add socks! Zappos did it again with their fabulous overnight shipping!
