I'm so conflicted. The look of these boots is exactly what I've been looking for. A very classic style and dressy enough for work with skirts and black tights. But my feet are in so much pain after just walking around the house. Will it get better or am I out of luck? Do go down a 1/2 size from what you usually wear. These boots have an extremely long toe and makes it awkward to walk in. Still, I may stick with them because they're so freak'n cute, and heels are supposed to be uncomfortable, right?

Sorry to burst the 5-star bubble but I'm breaking away from the crowd with this review. Maybe it's because everyone's so dizzy from getting hit over the head by their price that these boots have been so highly rated? I ordered the brushed brown flavor in 9.5 (I'm normally a 9.5/10). Getting them on wasn't all that difficult; just a good tug and my feet slipped right in. They fit well - length, width, and calf wise with a thin sock. (My feet are a true medium width and I have thin ankles and calves.) They seemed very sturdy; the leather was thick and the chunky heel was the perfect city-walking height. All good so far, but this is where Jane starts losing stars... The forefoot of the boot has an upward direction which caused my toes to get numb (y'know, that tingly feeling when you feel like the blood circulation is getting cut off) because so much of my weight (130, by the way) and the impact of my steps came down on the balls of my feet. This started happening about 15 minutes after getting them on and walking around so I took them off for about 10 minutes and tried again with the same results. And speaking of taking them off...like tug of war with my lower limbs! Even after all that I still was considering keeping them, but then I laid them out for full boot inspection and they failed. The leather on the shaft of one boot was horribly crinkled which reminded me of faux leather (ewww!). And looking even closer yet, the stitching at the top of the boot was sewn by a drunk person (more likely a very tired and underpaid person in China, but I digress). All that to say that the pair I received were 1) not made well enough for the price, 2) not comfortable enough to justify the price, and 3) returned. Thank you Zappos, I'll come back to spend my money here when I want to try again. Frye, no thank you.

Cute but not under pants - I liked these boots but they don't look good underpants.

I returned these. I'm 5'2, wear a size 6, and am a runner. I by no means have large calves, just short legs. The top of the boot hit at the widest part of my calf and was very tight. While I could get my feet in and probably could have stretched them out, it wasn't worth it. The foot bed was too big anyway and no way could I have gone down in size with as tight as the top part was. They are cute boots but not right if you're short and have any muscle at all in your calves!
