I want to love Keens since everyone else does! Problem I have is that they just don't look cute on me - short 5'3" and they appear so utilitarian and emphasize my short legs... I'm trying another version in a half size up. Fingers crossed!

If you are accustomed to wearing Keen sandals, you may find that these do not offer the same arch support as Bali, H2, etc. Like some of the similar styles, it is best to order 1 size up. These are made in China and the black material looks like a cheap suede/felt. If they had good arch support, I would keep them, but the arches of my foot are about a cm off the foot bed even when I have all of my weight on that foot. Otherwise, they are comfortable. I like that these are not as wide as similar styles which would make them work well with jeans.

I liked the looks of these sandals but I didn't like the fit. I tried two sizes and with both, I felt like my heel was hanging off the edge even though my toes didn't reach the top of the sandal. I have friends who swear by Keen and they fit them fine. But for me, the fit just wasn't right. I have to give it to LL Bean though, they processed my return quickly.

I write this review based on my feet, so take this with a grain of salt, I saw no other reviews with the same problems that I had when I got these and tried them on. 1) Style in the grand scheme of shoes these are not pretty. I love the red color but they are water shoes that cover your toes and they are very distinctive, but not stylish. I didn't buy them for style so they are fine. 2) Comfort. If these work for you you are going to love the comfort, they are squishy and supportive all around. I have narrow feet and a high arch and I felt that there was NO arch support. When I first put them on I thought that I must have a defective pair because while there is no arch support, there is a lump on the footbed on the outer edge of the shoe that forces my foot to pronate and my knees were killing me after walking around in the house for 15 minutes. Other than that glaring problem they were comfortable. They did feel true to size and width.

I love the stability of this water shoe, but there was not enough arch support for my needs. Sadly I need to return. Zappos is always the best in customer service.

Lightweight and comfortable. The only downside is the long tab on the back. It is too long and keeps rubbing on the back of the heel when I walk.

I wanted so much to love these cause they are so keen looking. I wanted an athletic sandal. My daughter wears Keen and said I should get these. She wears their athletic shoe, not the sandal. However, they are not comfortable for me. The footbed has little bumps and grooves that hurt the sole of my foot. I ordered the 7.5 (my usual) first and they were too short, so ordered the 8. They fit but are just not for me. The color is awesome though. Maybe if Keen can make a sandal without bumps on the footbed, I would get them. Cause the shoe is so cool looking even for an older person like me.

Because I have plantars fasciitis and tarsal tunnel syndrome, I am somewhat limited in my footwear choices. Most of what I can wear comfortably is not super attractive. I have Keen winter boots that fit well, so based on that and the good reviews of this product, I bought a pair. The colors are nice, but they are not super cute. They feel fine for walking the dog, walking my kid to school, running errands - but I wore them to Disney and they did hurt around the sides- the strappy part. These shoes have good support and didn't aggravate my pre-existing foot problems, but they rubbed in a blister producing way after hours of walking.

Unfortunately, I had to send these shoes back because they ran very small (both length and width) and were cut differently so that my pinky toes were not comfortable.

I love the look and general feel of these. However, I went through three pairs in 3 different sizes and they were never quite right. My heel kept shifting backward and hanging off the end of the shoe (even after going up in size multiple times). I don't know if it is because these fit a narrow foot better than a medium foot, or maybe it is related to my arch. I don't have this issue with the keen newport h2's. I noticed a possible reason as the ankle strap is way different. On the whisper, it doesn't have the reinforced thick material attached all around, so the heel is able to stretch and stretch and stretch. The newports keep my feet put where they are supposed to be in the shoe. Wish this style worked for me, but ill stick with what works.

Based on all of the reviews, I was expecting these to be roomy, lightweight, and supportive. When I tried these on, they fit perfectly length wise, but they were uncomfortably snug in width. The soles, while well cushioned, had little to no noticeable arch support. I am disappointed to be returning these after all of the great reviews, but they are just not going to work.

Many reviewers recommended ordering 1/2 size larger, so I did. However, I felt that they were actually too big so I'm returning them.

I usually love Keens straight out of the box. I bought these a half size and a whole size bigger than I normally wear. The half size felt like it fit the best but it felt too narrow in the toebox area. The straps rubbed wrong and made them really uncomfortable. The whole size bigger felt and looked like clown shoes in the toe area. They slipped some, as well, but the straps didn't rub the way the smaller ones did. I am disappointed to say that I will be returning both pairs. They are really adorable (if you like Keens or this style of sandal/shoe). They are a little more feminine looking than my past pairs of Keens, as well. I'm super bummed these were so uncomfortable on me, but the front part of my foot does tend to be wider than normal and I'm guessing that's why these didn't work for me.

What makes me sad about my Keen Whispers is that the stitching is already coming loose after only half of one summer of use. I have a pair of Rockports that have lived a hard life and are still great. Also, the Whispers don't have the great arch and my feet don't feel as well supported. These are fine for town but not for hiking. I may use them for my river shoes, since they are much lighter than Newports for river swimming (with painful rocks).

I was really disappointed with these. I wore them for one moderately long walk (about an hour long) and my feet were covered in blisters. I even tried wearing them again after that, just to see if maybe I needed to break them in more but I couldn't handle how uncomfortable they were. These shoes were way too narrow for my feet and just fit all wrong. I even went up a size like other reviewers suggested. If I could, I'd return them, but unfortunately Zappos won't allow returns once you've already worn the product. Such a bummer...

Really wanted the Whisper. Looked so comfy. Usually wear an 8 but ordered an 8.5 Whisper as some reports said this style ran a bit small. Also thought that with the 8.5 it would offer some enough room in the toe area for the toes to not be scrunched together. However the 8.5 was so tight my toes felt super scrunched together. The length could have been adequate, but the tightness of the shoe could not work for me. Decide to go onto the Keen website and review what they said about their styles. There was a reference on the Keen site that the Whisper had "woman's foot sizing". I gathered that must mean narrower. Sent Keen an e-mail to confirm if this was the case and they sent back - "The Whisper is indeed a more narrow style, if you are looking for a wider fit, the Venice should be able to accommodate you." So with that info I exchanged the Whisper for the Venice H2. The Venice H2 is TERRIFIC and ordered it in 8.5. Size is perfect, width is perfect, love it. Feels very comfortable. SO if you have a narrow foot, likely the Whisper will be fine, but if like me and want more room for the toes to have space consider the Venice or Venice H2 instead and worked for me. Zappos was GREAT with the exchange, love Zappos!

I will be in a rural area with temperatures in mid to high 80's, and wanted comfortable shoes so I could walk on dusty, uneven roads. Let me qualify by saying it is hard for me to find comfortable shoes or sandals at this point in my life -- an active 70. I have bunions that don't bother me if there's no pressure exerted, a fairly high instep, and my skin is kind of sensitive. I require a flexible, fairly thick sole with a high instep, moderate support and no pressure in the wrong places. I had hoped these sandals met all my criteria, but they did not. Others have said Keens run small, and these seems to, and be on the narrow side. I ordered a half-size up. I adjusted to the loosest position. The sandal still feels a bit tight over the instep. It leaves a mark. The biggest problem, though: the sole feels unusual, and my feet feel like they are almost sweating as a result -- something to do with the material on the inside of the sole. This is in my living room, in winter time, where I've been wearing the shoe. I haven't experienced this with other sandals or shoes. I then wore it with socks for a while, though it felt tight. The problem was still there when I again tried them bare-footed -- again, all in my living room. I will be returning the sandal. I do appreciate Zappos return policy, though!

I wanted to like this shoe, but my last two toes were exposed. Because I needed a close-toed sandal, these didn't work.
If it had not been for that, I think these would have been great. They were very light-weight and comfortable.

This KEEN shoe had no arch support. Severely disappointed in this Keen Whisper style. It was very light, great colors and felt great, except for absolutely no curve in the arch area of the sandal! :( I bought 3 pairs and sadly, had to return them all. I'll just stick with the bigger/heavier Newports & Venice versions. They provide a moderate arch support curve. Thanks for the great service and happy voices Zappos.com! :D

I loved the look and initial feel of these shoes and it broke my heart to return them, but my heel kept slipping out of the back! It felt like it was slipping out from the moment I tried them on. I tightened the laces, but my heel still slipped out. I initially ordered a half size larger and tried those too, but still had the same problem.

I found the shoe would not adjust to my foot. Although the sole is long enough, when the elastic is tightened, it pulls my foot toward the back of the shoe making my heel hang over. The next half size up did the same thing. I ended up having to shorten the strap that goes around the ankle by taking a tuck in the strap and sewing it. There was no other way to tighten it. Also, It took a while to get used to the plasticy feel of the footbed. Next time I will get one with a suede-like finish. The shoe seems narrow, but that is what makes it look less clunky.

Loved the look of these and the comfort reviews so I took a shot and ordered them. Yes, they are cute but I have short toes and wide feet and first off they kind of smushed my wide feet on the sides which may have stretched out the sandal over time but sadly because my toes are so short, my pinkie toe and the one next to it hung out the slat on outer side of the sandal so I sent them back...still in search of a great enclosed sandal!

Bought a pair of these for my annual "walk-about" (vacation) They were so comfortable, did not require any sort of break in, the fit was outstanding and true to size. While on vacation I saw so many other people wearing the same shoes in other wonderful colors ... thinking I missed a few fashionable colors that I'll be adding to my wardrobe, like the sassy red pair!

These Keens just do not fit my feet. I really wanted a sandal with a closed toe, and am a size 8 in most shoes. Both 8 and 8.5 were too small -- heel hanging out the back, rest of foot felt squished -- and the 9 felt too loose. Defeated, I gave up and bought open-toe sandals.
