A year later, I'm extremely torn on this shoe. It is a great, comfy shoe until it isn't. The quality is great, then it isn't. I wear these shoes on a regular basis (roughly 2-3 times a week) and they are now in near ruin. The sole is worn through on the left shoe in two places and it is nearly worn through in another on the right. The leather has held up well and is really comfortable, but the stitching between the sole and leather are quickly breaking. For the cost of the shoe, I'm not impressed with the quality. The shoes are basically unwearable now, which is a shame because they were so great through then. My Adidas Sambas, which get worn more and I bought at nearly the same day, are still in great shape and cost half what these did. I'm torn at what I replace them with and would love to order another pair, but I'm not sure its worth the cost.

Love these shoes. I'm someone who's almost always worn running shoes for comfort, and finally decided to try to grow up --- at least, shoe-wise. The good news is that these shoes are just as comfortable as running shoes, but look a lot more respectable! Finally!

These are super comfortable, fit my narrow feet with wide toebox very well. I work over 10 hour days in a music retail store and these are not only stylish, but comfortable for everyday wear. As mentioned in other reviews, they do squeak a little, but the roar of kids trying out electric guitars usually covers it well. My only recommendation for improvement is a longer lasting sole. One year and the tread is getting bald in spots. I do wear these a lot, but I would like to see more years out of them.

One of my favorite shoes ever. Too bad that it has a major (and avoidable) design flaw: the sole is so thin and soft that it wears down after only a few months of normal use. Mine tore through at the heel after only six months and I've found countless other reviews on line with similar stories. Patagonia markets these as re-soleable shoes, but I'm guessing that's only to make up for the fact that they don't last. Too bad, otherwise a very comfortable and great looking shoe.

One of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. You can feel the ground when you walk with these. I have owned for two years, don't really wear them with shorts but I wear them every day when I have jeans or khakis on. They have held up great and have gotten even more comfortable. I am going to have to find out if Patagonia can resole them at when the soles finally wear out (not really close now) because I will be bummed if I have to give these up. Worth every penny.

An incredibly comfortable shoe that breaks in very quickly (couple of hours). Goes great both with casual and dressy clothes. Super lightweight. Completely pleased with this shoe.

I will rarely return a pair of shoes that don't fit and then reorder the right size. I know it's weird, but I usually move on to the next shoe I want. Not the case with the Loulu. I tried them on when they arrived, and was extremely disappointed that they were about 1/2 size too big (silly me for basing the size on my Born shoes). I returned them (I don't have to tell you how much I love the Zappos return policy, if you're reading this then there is a good chance you already know how good it is) and moved on to another pair as usual, but I could not get past how comfortable the Loulu were, so I ordered another pair a 1/2 size smaller, and I could not be happier. This is a great shoe both for casual and casual dress for work. I can wear them with pretty much any cut of jean I wear, and they look good with a T, polo or button down. They fit very comfortable and snug, and the soles have a great design and functional grip. A must have of you are looking for a new brown shoe. This was my first pair of Patagonia shoes, but it definitely won't be my last!

These shoes look and feel wonderful. They are simple but classy. They do run about a half size large, though. I'm normally a size 12, but ordered an 11 1/2 and they fit perfectly. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Have had a lot of problems finding a shoe that really fits well. This one met all the requirements. Perfect fit with extra room in the toe box, style and color. Just about the perfect shoe. However, I am allergic to wool and the lining was too much. Even with thicker socks it was too uncomfortable. Reluctantly I had to send them back. My only hope is that Patagonia comes out with the same shoe that is not wool lined. If so I will be buying a pair promptly.

This is my 4th Patagonia 'low profile or barefoot' minimalist shoe. I personally remove the firm short shank under the pad for more flexibility. It now is the only style of shoe I wear. I hope they come out with a Goretex version of the same shoe. They run a little wide but not a deal breaker. Yes I recommend them to someone looking for a minimalist shoe.

There's a point in your life where function supersedes form. I think I'm there. If you want a pair of shoes that are the next best thing to walking barefoot and you don't care if someone mistakenly thinks you're wearing orthopedics, get these shoes! The feel great.

Dynamite shoe. I'm an better known for cap toes and wingtips but decided to opt for comfort and try a pair, risking a bit of B...stock look. The comfort index is off-the-charts and to my surprise I'm getting compliments on the appearance.

A really nice shoe. The rubber sole is squeaky on smooth floors when it's brand new, but this disappears quickly. I wanted a minimalist shoe and replaced the insoles (which are nice, but are also thick) with very thin insoles from some running shoes. (Those I use without insoles.) As a result, they are probably too big, and if I were to buy them again, I'd go a size smaller.

These are great shoes. The comfort is very good. The style is very good. I do not have much else to say. I think I would have preferred the lighter color.

Great shoe. Different, very 70's earth shoeish. I like the somewhat minimalist design. Very natural feeling. I love walking barefoot, and to me these have a similar feel. The wool linings make them too warm for summer though. Just ordered the naked maui for warm weather. Runs a full size larger and are wide in the toe box.

These are great shoes but they seem odd at first because the bottoms are flat and thin and they are very light. They turn out to be incredibly comfortable walking shoes.

This is a great shoe for guys with wide feet. The color can be a little off. I wanted the color I saw in the store (golden brown) and what showed up was a dark brown. When I explained the problem to CS they were great and found me the pair with the right color I wanted.

I ordered these shoes for the style and fit, as they looked like they had a nice mid-sole and the supple-leather was very appealing as less-formal workwear. Well when I got them I was even more surprised to find them that much nicer than the pictures. They're also extremely comfortable and accommodate my wide-feet very well. Since I haven't worn them long enough to gauge the effects of cumulative wear and tear I can't speak to some of the other user's comments about them falling apart. The construction of this shoes appears solid enough to last for a good amount of time and should they fall apart sooner than anticipated I will post again. So far, this is an excellent stylish shoe for wide-footed people.

These shoes were exactly what I was looking for - minimal shoes I can wear to work. These shoes look and feel great. They fit my wide (2E) feet perfectly. There is one comfort glitch for me. The stiff sidewall of one shoe was initially digging into a spot just under my outside ankle. After a few weeks of discomfort, I think my shoe or ankle has broken in, and I don't notice it any more.

Great quality of shoe, and great comfort. Really like how the sole is just a little bit squishy and the hexagonal pattern. Really makes for a good feel when walking or just standing. Not too squishy but not too firm. Kind of wish the toe box wasn't quite as wide (makes for a bit too much room there), but not a big deal. Only complaint is on one foot the tongue does cut into a blood vessel or nerve on the top of my foot a little if I tighten a bit too much.

I was having some issues with my feet and tried so many different pairs of shoes, none were comfortable. These from Patagonia were just amazing the moment I put them on. They are a bit wider than the average shoe and that helps make it more comfortable. The shoe looks as if it provides no cushioning, but the minute you take a few steps you'll be surprises how much feedback and bounce you get from each step. After the initial pair tested well, I bought 2 more! Thanks for the great service Zappos.
