WONDERFUL shoes! I have worn Birkenstock shoes for the past 8-9 years, and these are the closest thing I have found to Birks without breaking the bank too badly. They are comfortable, look great, and are even better as they weather a bit! The only complaint is that they squeak when shifting from side to side, but that may pass over time.

These are very well made and comfortable shoes which have a rather nice contemporary style for leisure shoes. My only concern is that the inner soles are not removable and I would have preferred a modest arch which these shoes lack.

Excellent thin-soled shoe. I've been wearing them every day for a few months now. Comfortable for walking, yet the darker color is dressy enough that I don't have to bring a 2nd pair of shoes when traveling for conferences, work meetings, etc. I did experience an initial break-in period with some discomfort and rubbing on my ankles, even with wool socks on. My previous daily-wear shoes had a bit more padding than the Loulu, so I was a bit worried. But once the leather on these loosened up, they conformed well to my feet, and are now incredibly comfortable. Don't let that break-in period scare you away; it's worth the wait. So far, these shoes have kept my feet sufficiently cool. They don't have a lot of insulation, so I don't recommend them for bitterly cold weather without thick wool socks. The sewn seam between the sole and the leather upper does not seem to do an excellent job of keeping water out if you step in a puddle. However, most of the water ends up between the removable insole and the sole, so I have yet to experience wet toes, just a squishy sensation when walking. Overall, I'd buy the Loulu again.

These are very comfortable and attractive. After about a year and a half of wear, however, the laces have broken a couple of times and the sole has worn very thin and lost a considerable amount of traction.

Great shoes! The soles squeaked at first on certain surfaces, but after a few days of wear they quieted down. Very comfortable, lightweight, nice enough for the office and casual enough for everyday. In the beginning they felt a little wide, but over time the leather has started to conform more to my foot and take up the extra space. Overall an excellent shoe and, as always, Zappos rocks!

These are very comfortable shoes, but the box toe may be percieved as loose fitting to some, however the heel fits perfectly. For those of us that have narrow heals and wide fronts (not to mention flat feet) these are great!

These can be worn as a minimalist or "barefoot" shoe. Remove the insole and it appears to be zero drop shoe with a thin flexible outsole, but there is a rigid plastic shank glued into the heel. Without the insole your foot drops down into the shoe and creates some hotspots around the ankle, I'm hopeful that the uppers will soften over time and the hotspots will go away. The laces could be much shorter. Overall a welcome alternative to the odd styling of Terra Plana.

I normally wear a size 12 and I bought the 11.5, since the reviews indicate that these shoes are marked a half size smaller than they are. However, the 11.5 is still about a half size too big. Otherwise, I am quite happy with them.

These shoes are basically a step above slippers from a support standpoint. But they're also just as comfortable as a nice pair of slippers. The wool lining is also really comfortable and smell-resistant, even after wearing these without socks for a day. The style is nice, very clean and understated, and the construction seems pretty solid. I bought these as a casual shoe to replace a more sneaker-like canvas shoe, and they fit that role pretty well. These shoes also pack really well (like slippers) since they're really light and the soles aren't stiff - so it's great for travel. The minor negatives. I have a wide foot and these are definitely on the wide side, much more so than any other D-width shoe I've ever bought. This is great for me; but if you've got a narrower foot, it may not be a good fit. The rubber sole has a very 'sticky' quality to it, so these shoes tend to squeak a bit when walking on tile or other really smooth floors. After about a week of walking around, however, the squeaking certainly dropped off and I suspect after further wear, it will go away completely. The price is a bit high for this type of shoe. I'd expect it to be less, but if you're willing to spend the dough, I'd recommend it as a good casual shoe that you can travel with.

I loved the simplicity, super cushioned insole, and deep brown color of this shoe. What I didn't like was the extremely wide toe box. I have a wide foot and like wide looking shoes, but they were just too wide and a tad strange looking. If money wasn't an issue I'd keep them, but since I was looking for a different aesthetic I had to send them back.

Great shoe. Comfortable. Feels like a slipper. If you want a strong shoe that holds up to the elements and will likely last long, look elsewhere. This shoe breaks in fast and would not likely hold up to any questionable weather. What it does do however is feel fantastic. I gave it four starts just because I anticipate it wearing out so quickly.

These shoes are comfortable right out of the box. They have a super wide toe box too, which I need. Don't expect a lot of support, though. They have very little cushion and no arch support, but unlike some other reviewers I think they are okay for walking. I walk 3 to 6 miles a day and bike to work in them with no problem. Definitely a good buy.

These cool looking 3 hole oxfords are great. They've got a kind of funky earth shoe look to them, but are still dressy in a with-it kind of way. Fit is good, they are not an overly large 9 but fit well through my narrow heels. Comfy, contemporary and classy.

Very comfortable pair of shoes made with high quality leather, and a sturdy insole. Stylish enough to be worn in a variety of settings. I would highly recommend this shoe.

Got these shoes for work and they are not comfortable for everyday all day use! They look cool but but are very slippery also. Kind of surprised coming from Patagonia!

Comfy, but not built to last. The soles on both shoes broke through at the heels in short order. Disappointing after owning a pair of Campers that lasted 4x as long and were even more comfortable.

These shoes are great, but they made a weird popping sound, because of the curve of the bottom of the sole for a while until they where properly broken in. They look great and are very comfortable otherwise.

I was looking for a shoe with a low heel otherwise my knees hurt. This shoe works great; no knee pain.

I love these shoes, but they are not perfect. They are extremely comfortable for everyday use. I like the unique style. My only problem with them is that these shoes may not be ideal for extreme walking: I was in Europe where I did a lot of walking. Because of the limited support, my feet were sore. Granted, I walked several miles that day, so my feet would have been sore regardless of the shoes, but I think that more support would have been helpful. Since in my daily life I do not tour an entire city in one day, I believe that the Patagonia Loulu meets my daily needs with style and comfort.

I found the sole to be seriously weak: after only a couple months of city walking I had to get a shoe repairer to attach some heavy Vibram soles. On the other hand, I like them so much that it was worth $50 to get those Virbam soles put on. They are my favorite shoes...now that I modified them to get them up to spec. So: 2 stars as is, 5 with modifications.

I've had this pair of shoes in walnut for a few weeks. They are comfortable with soft leather and are true to size. My only issue is that the leather is easily scuffed. The left shoe is wearing prematurely at the toe and where the leather bends while walking. I am debating returning the pair for another.

I've had these shoes for a couple of weeks now, and have started to notice that they are not as comfortable to walk around in as I had originally hoped. The shoes are very stylish for my taste. They have a clean and minimal look to them. I primarily use them with khakis while at work. Unfortunately, these shoes are rather pricey and I don't think the price reflects the comfort that I have experienced from these shoes.

2 of 5 stars. After 14 months of semi-regular wear in low impact environments, the soles have worn down remarkably and completely through in one spot. The surprisingly thin and soft soles are a major design flaw in an otherwise excellent shoe. This is a shame as the shoe both looks great and is extremely comfortable. If it weren't for the durability issues of the soles, I would be ordering another pair instead of writing this review.

Shoe may look good, but it has zero support. If you have high arches, lower back pain, etc., do not buy this shoe.

Comfy, but slippery! I was happy to put these shoes on, nice and comfy, the front was a little wide for me but I'm getting used to it. The major drawback is they are very slippery on wet surfaces. I have slipped a few times, once banging my shoulder into a metal shelf and cutting it. I can barely walk on tile, brick, even sidewalks when its wet are slick.
