What a disappointment - hardly any support; too wide in the front. This is not a shoe you'd buy for its looks.

I was hesitant to buy these shoes after reading the reviews, but after trying them on I was instantly sold. I love the look, I loved the feel (very barefoot feeling). I wore them 6-7 days per week, did lots of walking and they lasted 4 sold years, until the soles wore through completely and had to be junked. I knew this would happen and I knew they weren't repairable, but I'm glad to have gotten as long as I did out of them. I'm not sure how others have had this happen in 6 months. I weigh about 160lbs, so perhaps these aren't recommended if you are over 200. That said, I've been debating buying another pair. The price is not cheap (to me) for something I know will wear out and be thrown away. I've been thinking of trying another brand/shoe.

Possibly my favorite shoe ever. Very comfortable. More or less a casual shoe but still stylish enough to wear on more formal occasions. I've worn it several times with sportcoats and think it works dandy. I've not had it long enough to verify others' concern that the sole wears out too quickly. Generally seemed bigger than I was expecting...but not a whole lot bigger.

One of the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. I would recommend investing in some type of water proofing or leather treatment to prevent stains; I walked too close to motor oil once and the leather on one shoe has a permanent stain. Fortunately for zappos, I'll probably buy another pair.

Very comfortable, lightweight and stylish. I prefer simple shoes with minimal arch and heel cushion, and these fit the bill. Numerous people have commented on them, asking what brand they are and where they might find a pair for themselves. Upon delivery, I wasn't crazy about the shine on the leather. But after a few weeks the shoes have softened and the finish has dulled to a nice subtle sheen. Happy with the darker espresso-brownish color. They look great with jeans.

This is a great shoe as most all Patagonia shoes are especially if you have a wide or strange foot and you like that barefoot feel on your feet. There's a lot of room to play around in this shoe if you want to add high quality insoles which is what I did. Styling is second to none. Every detail on the shoe is beautiful and although Patagonia does not manufacture the shoes themselves the company that does follows Patagonia's strict environmental guilde lines.

As comfortable as any Born shoe I've owned. Very comfy and stylish - many compliments from friends and customers. Sole is soft, but has not worn out on me as others have mentioned. Purchased almost a year ago and wear them about 3-4 days per week on average. They do run about a half size large, so the 9's I ordered (I usually wear 9.5US), fit just perfect. I have a little wider foot than Medium and there is plenty of room width-wise. Love, love, love them.

I really like the Vibram toe shoes to work out in and I was looking for something similar in a dress shoe. This is it. I'm so glad they make these kind of dress shoes. If you read Born to Run, you know that arch supports, heels, etc. really screw up your feet. Walking barefoot is the best for healthy feet and this is what this good looking shoe simulates.

A bit "quirky" looking, but not in a bad way! These shoes are very comfortable, feel true to size, well made, provide nice support (especially if you're on your feet all day like me), and perfect for casual days at work or at home.

Very comfortable, nice looking shoes that I can wear to the office. Toe box is big enough for my wider feet.

I bought these shoes and love them. I am getting another pair. They are very comfortable. Almost like you're not even wearing shoes.

I really like these shoes so bought a pair in each color. The soles are quite thin, but I do not mind that fact. I have also googled and found that the soles are replaceable, at least if you send them away.

I was disappointed when Born discontinued my favorite shoe but it turned out well as I discovered this shoe. The Loulu is light as a feather and is extremely comfortable (after 1 week of break in). I get compliments on them all the time. The rubber bottom has great grip and seems to be wearing very well. I love them!

These shoes were just what I was looking for. I love the chocolate brown color. They are the perfect blend of casual and urban spiff. I am a men's size 8. I ordered an 8 and they fit like a glove. They are very comfortable. It's my first day wearing them to work and it feels like I've been wearing them for a year! If there was one complaint (and there always is), I would say that the laces are too long. Definitely a great shoe out of the box. Pair that with Zappos customer service and quick shipping, and it's a great online ordering experience!

Great shoe, great color, not sure how the soles will wear. They seem flimsy.

Wish you could replace the soles on these shoes. They are comfortable (and I have flat feet, wear them with insert and they feel great.) But after 14 months there is a hole through the sole on the right shoe. Though the uppers look new the soles are kinda shot and I'm going to need to replace them. A bummer.

I like these shoes. They don't actually run large, but the wide toe box makes them feel a bit large because of the extra breathing room you've got to spread out. The roomy toe area is actually my favorite and least favorite part of the shoe. Favorite because it's comfortable and easy to walk. Unfavorite because the wideness makes it look ever-so-slightly like a clown shoe. Just slightly. Other that that, these are very stylish semi-casual shoes. There's not a ton of padding, but the fit still makes it a comfortable ride. Overall, definitely recommended.

Shoe looks good. I have sole arch support inserts since I have very high arches, but I felt that the ones that came with the shoe would work for most. The main complaint that I have is that the soles are quite thin. You feel every pebble. This might be a better shoe for someone with younger feet (I am 5'3).

Overall, this is a comfortable shoe, with one exception. My right outside ankle bone rubs on the top of the side of the shoe, which comes up a little higher than most other shoes. I've had to try to soften the leather at that point to make the shoes wearable. Otherwise, they are a nice pair of shoes. Styling is a little chunky, but I can live with it. I like supporting Patagonia, and can live with a less than perfect shoe.

These shoes run at least a half size larger than indicated. On top of that, if your feet are average width or narrower than average, the toe box will likely feel far too wide. This fact makes for a less than ideal fit. In spite of that, the shoes are quite comfortable and fit very securely to the foot when laced up. I've worn these shoes both casually and in the office environment and I they look great in both environments. My biggest qualm with this shoe is the lack of durability of the sole. After one year of daily wear, both soles have large holes in the heel area. I have much crumbier shoes for which this was never a problem. I'm surprised and disappointed at how quickly these shoes fell apart.

I was looking for a casual minimalist-inspired shoe for the office. The style is not too bad; however, these are absolutely not zero-drop -- with the insoles in. I am already in the process of transitioning to zero-drop shoes and these were uncomfortable for me after two or three hours. The problem with removing the insoles and going "barefoot" is that A) your dress pants will now drag on the ground because there is no heel height and B) these shoes have a spotty record as far as the sole durability, according to many of the other reviews. So if you are like me and looking for a pair of minimal leather shoes for the office, I would keep looking. I had better luck with the Teva Cedar Canyon -- slightly ugly but very comfortable and sold here on Zappos for less than the Loulu.

Basically a sock with a sole. Probably OK for a young strong foot that is good for barefoot walking. Not good if you need support. Very good looking. This is a modification of an earlier review (downward).

I received a lot of compliments on this pair of shoes. The only problem was the sole, which I wore a hole through in less than a year.

This a really handsome shoe. It is nice and wide which is great for my awkward duck feet. The only reason I ended up returning them was the really thin sole. There just wasn't enough arch support for flat-footed birds like me.
