Love these! I've had 2 pair! I have terrible, painful feet, so I'm constantly looking for the perfect pair of shoes. I'm a teacher and I can wear these all day and my feet still feel great at the end of the day. They aren't as stylish as I would like, but comfort is key in my world!

Generally pretty comfortable - except too narrow for my wider feet. I normally can wear most medium-width shoes, but I got painful blisters on my little toes while walking around Paris. Took them out for a stroll the other day (after nearly a year) and had the same problem. Wish I'd known. Do all Merrell's fit like this?

I was surprised to find out how narrow these shoes run. I've worn a lot of Merrell's shoes and never tried one so narrow. I'm sad because they are lovely; but I will have to return them.

This is my second pair--wore out the first after 3 years. Comfortable for standing in all day at work and decent looking under pants.Enough heel height for longer pants. With a thick sock fit my narrow foot and heel.

Perfect Shoe - Where has this shoe been all my life? I've been looking for a comfortable yet not-too-casual loafer for about a year, and hadn't been able to find a shoe that was both dressy enough for the office and foot-friendly (and I set the bar pretty high on this one)--until now! I've been walking about in the Spire Stretch for about a week, and it's been comfortable since minute one (no break in period). It's got great arch support; even though there's a slight heel, my weight rests evenly and comfortably on my heels, as if the shoe were flat. There's room enough in the toe box to move my toes, and the shoe seems to be tough enough to handle minor scuffs (I'm usually pretty hard on shoes). I also like the design, which is clean and modern, a nice balance between traditional and trendy (and with pants, this shoe looks very much like a traditional loafer). Something to note: this shoe fits like a glove, so thin socks (like trouser socks) are a must. Thicker socks make the shoe feel too tight. Merrell--when will these shoes come in brown?? The one and only thing that I would change would be the visible "tire tread" on the back heel, which seems like an odd, rogue element... Merrell, Zappos, I'll be back!

I like the way this shoe looks, sadly it did not have the support for my high arch so will try again.

I purchased these because I needed comfortable shoes for the airport and shopping. They are really comfortable and didn't even hurt when I wore them for the first time. Thinking about purchasing another pair in brown.

I work in retail, this is my second pair. I love the shoes they hug my feet, so I can walk in it eight hours a day without hurting my feet. The special material around the heel will not give you any blisters.

Really nice pair of shoes. Soft leather and good support. I thought the width was rather narrow. Length is fine. Had to return because of width.

The Merrell Spire Stretch is a wonderful shoe. I had bought a pair three years ago and wore it often throughout the winter. It's getting worn along the edges so just purchased a new one. It's comfortable, just the right heel height, the arch fits me perfectly, and it's quite elegant. I hope they continue to make this model!

It is comfortable and appears well made, but in my size (41) it looked like a men's shoe. And an ugly one at that.

Love! True to size and very comfortable. These shoes are also very versatile, they can be used to dress up or down.

I am now on my 3rd pair of these shoes and I absolutely love them! For my type of work the style suits me just fine. I'm on my feet most the the day and they totally enclose my foot offering a great means of support. I wear orthotics as well and have no problem with the fit. I have noticed though, that the fit of my 2nd and 3rd pair has been a bit snug; but, after a few wearings, they stretch out fine.

This is my second pair of Merrell Spire Stretch shoes. The first pair were fantastic and I expect that the second pair will be the same. They look professional, feel great and hold up well. I also like that they look like a dress shoe and feel (a lot like) a sneaker. When the time comes, I'll be back for a third pair.

The great things about Merrell shoes is that they look wonderful and handily accommodate sensitive feet. The Spire is the best of the Merrell styles that I have tried. The insoles are removable, and the shoe is deep enough to handle orthotics, which I wear. Whether you have foot issues or not, and especially if you are on your feet all day, this shoe is worth every penny that you spend on it. I only wish Merrell would offer it in more colors. I'd buy every one.

Too narrow across the toes and slipping in the heel. Nice looking shoe; I really wanted it to fit!

Shoes are very comfortable. I walk on concrete surfaces throughout the day, and these shoes provided just the right amount of cushion and support.

Fantastically comfortable, and nice that they don't look as clunky as the Merell mocs (which are equally comfortable).

It was a miracle to find these shoes again, after a purchase about 2+ years ago in person. I thought for sure they'd been discontinued and gave up hope. Best shoes I've had for work (I stand for hours and need to also look business-y). After all this time, the first pair only gave out where the rubber meets the leather on the tip. Great shoes. Happy to have been able to replace them.

These shoes run small, which is good for me but may not be for others. They are close-fitting and the elastic at the top keeps them fitted to your foot. At first, it took a shoehorn to get them on, but they have broken in nicely. I wish there were more shoes that had elastic -- especially good for those with narrow heels who have a problem with heels slipping out.

The Spire Strech is a very lightweight, comfortable shoe. Great arch support. The shoe seems to run a bit narrower than some of the Merrell mule style of shoe. The shoe looks great with a bootleg pair of pants.

These shoes are great! I'm planning to wear these with professional slacks, and they work well. Extremely comfortable, and I have a neuroma and bunions. I really like the style better than I thought I would from the picture. I have a narrow foot but the neoprene keeps my heel from slipping.

These are the most comfortable shoes.I have a wide foot with a narrow heel and it is very difficult to find shoes that accomodate that problem. These shoes do just that. Unfortunately they no longer make them in Brown. I wish they did!

Absolutely love these shoes! I am on my 2nd pair! They can be sporty or dressy casual and they are super comfortable. I have walked from one end of Manhattan to the other and my feet felt great!

I was plagued with plantar fascia and was looking for a comfortable shoe to wear to work. These were a great buy. Merrell shoes are always super comfortable! The only downside of these shoes is that, well, they're rather practical looking. You know, a little short on style. But if you have bad feet, these are the shoes to get.
