I bought these shoes two years ago when I started hiking more and spending time outdoors. I first got a 7 but the shoes were so uncomfortable I returned them for a 7.5 (I normally wear a 7). This didn't fix the problem at all. the shoe is nice and lightweight, but incredibly stiff and rigid throughout. I developed a metatarsal injury while trying to use this shoe, which never broke in. I am pretty sure the stiffness of the shoe, which limited my range of motion and comfort, was to blame. They look pretty cute, though, and make your foot look smaller.

Oh, no. Weird, weird shoe. I really wanted to like these shoes, as a replacement for everyday tennis shoes, or general walk-about shoes. But no, unfortunately, they fit very unnaturally and rubbed the inside floor of my heel in an odd way. I suddenly had a gait problem that was exacerbated by the shoes I was wearing. I've gone back to my old walk-abouts, and have purchased two different sets of running shoes since this. None of the other shoes caused the same odd rubbing on my heel. So I have to think it was the design of the shoes. Unfortunately Merrell and my feet just don't get along.
