I have a narrow foot (A) a narrower heel (AA) and a high arch, and shoes are always an issue for me. Merrells usually work fine for my feet and I feel an ahhh moment with Merrells generally because they often run narrow. But there is always an exception: I disliked these hiking boots intensely. While the style was cute and felt well made, the shoe overall was uncomfortable, little or no arch support, hard under the ball of the foot, and just basically felt like everything was off. They didn't even feel good when I was sitting in the recliner between test walks around the house. They may work for someone with a med width foot who doesn't need arch support. Went back the next day. Thanks for your return policy Zappos!

I wanted to love them like the other reviews, but they were too small and narrow! I was hoping to get lots of comfortable miles on them. Back they go.

I love the looks, but they are not good for walking. It feels like walking on 2x4s. The sole is too hard and the laces keep coming untied. But, I really do like the way they look and wear them for looks only. My favorite shoes for walking are New Balance CW442 all suede. They are the best walking shoes that I have ever had!

Although these look good, they are so so stiff and your foot sets low in the shoe and the top rubs the outside of your ankle What's up Merrell? Used to put your shoes on and wear them all day the first day without a problem. Must return.

The Merrell Siren Sport shoes have been a huge disappointment. They look good but are more fashionable than functional. I did some light hiking along a river bank this past weekend and spent the whole time trying to stay upright on the wet rocks. If your idea of hiking is city sidewalks, then this is the shoe for you!

I ordered these shoes to replace a pair of Merrell Siren Sync that I bought to wear to Disney two years ago. They took me to Disney not once, but twice, and I even wore them to do tons of yard work. Eventually, though, I wore them out. I was hoping the Siren Sport would just be the next generation, but unfortunately, they aren't. These are stiff, lack much cushion, and have an oddly large toe box. They feel thin and cheap and are going back today. The only thing I like is how they look!

The shoe was comfortable but the top lace notch is plastic and got busted pretty easily, now the shoe is unwearable. Too bad my other Merrill shoes lasted 3 years, these not even 6 months. also out of the box one shoe had a funny indentation near the big toe that never went away, it just looked funny.

Ordered 1/2 size larger than I am, the fit was right, but the arches were too small. If you need larger arches these are not for you. Got the Skechers Shape Ups instead.

I bought these for a recent trip to Disney and because the shoe was so highly rated. I have narrow heels with a slightly wider toe area. The shoes did not make it. I did not get blisters but my feet hurt (and were fatigued) after 2 hours of walking. The shoes seemed wide enough at the beginning of the day but after a few hours became tight. My right foot became numb. I was so excited to get these b/c I thought my feet might be spared the agony of a day at Disney. But, no such luck.

Uncomfortable. Too wide and doesn't fit well. I had to tie them really tight to keep them from slipping and then they made my feet numb just walking around the house. I've tried one size smaller, too, and it's too short in the toe. These are cute for hiking shoes, but too uncomfortable for me to wear. If you have a wide foot these might work for you. I like my Merrell boots and I was very disappointed in this shoe.

I bought these shoes for a recent trip to Venice, Italy. They were comfortable for an hour or two walking around home...but after 10 hours of walking on my first day, I had terrible blisters and ended up wearing flip flops (including Teva Olowahu) for the remainder of my trip.\r\n\r\nFortunately, Venice is so beautiful, nothing was able to ruin it, but I would not buy these shoes again.

This is a great looking shoe with a high rating of 5 stars. I bought it twice: the first time the shoe felt funny when I walked, so I returned it. Because so many people gave it a high rating I thought perhaps it was just this one, so I ordered it again. This time the shoe felt comfortable. I was still cautious about it, because a few reviewers said that after wearing it for a while they had foot pain... I wore them all day around the house. I'm glad I did, because the same happened to me. By the end of the day i couldn't tolerate it. It is the next day and my feet still hurt. I have narrow, skinny feet. Fyi - this shoe came with a description of how merrell designed this shoe to mimic how a woman moves her feet when walking, and it looks like the feet roll towards the outside. Since i don't have a high arch, my feet don't do that. I held the shoe flat on a surface, and the bottom of this shoe is not flat, but rather curved up towards the outer front. I compared it to other sneakers, which are flat in the front all around... Bottom line - this one didn't work for me...

Merrell should rename these the "Merrell Let's Get Ready for Knee Replacement Surgery Sport" shoe. I had a previous pair of Merrell's that I had been wearing for years and loved, so thought these would make an ideal replacement. They did not. Thank goodness I saved my old shoes because I'll never wear these again. I run/walk for about 45 minutes a day on a treadmill and seriously thought I was going to require knee replacement surgery after a few days of these shoes. The pain was excruciating. I'm not sure what went wrong but it's a big disappointment. I hope my old shoes can hold together until I can find something better!

I bought these shoes because I have been hiking quite a bit and needed to replace my old shoes. I like their style and I read the reviews. The problem with them is their soles have no grip at all. They have some tread but are made of a very smooth synthetic. If I am hiking up or down even the slighted hill, on pavement or dirt, my feet start sliding around like I am on ice skates. This had happened several time and I have now declared these shoes to be actually dangerous to wear while hiking. I am usually a big fan of Merrell but they really blew it with these shoes.

Purchased in 2010. It took weeks to break in, almost returned them as they were so painful to wear. Little use, maybe a dozen light hikes over 2 years. Mostly worn indoors at my office job. Upper separated from sole (tearing away) and unable to repair. Spoke with Merrell, understanding that it has been 2 years, but with the light use, figured they would replace or offer a substitute. They offered to pay a cobbler to repair them. They are not able to be repaired (no glue and no stitching will hold). They are not fixable and destined for the trash can. This is a top of the line shoe and not cheap. Consider other options and manufacturers that support the quality of their product...Merrell is not one of those companies.

I ordered these really cute shoes for both myself and teenage daughter. My foot is a definite "medium" and my daughter's is on the "narrow" side. I read many reviews before placing our order. I was so surprised after these shoes caused blisters and abrasions in the toe box area (near the front leather lace holder due to no lining material on the inside of the shoes) that others had not reported the same. Shoes definitely run narrow. I then ordered a wide in my usual size to see if that would make the difference, but the shoe was not only wider in the toe box but also in the heel and therefore did not work out. Zappos was great about accepting our returns!

Good looking shoe but too narrow. Also, the gusseted tongue hurts the top of my foot even when the laces are loose. Return!

I bought a pair less than 2 years ago. I have small (between 5.5 and 6) and wide feet, which makes things a little tricky. Had no blisters on my first hike, so I was quite happy except that I had to stop frequently to pore tons of sand out of my shoes, which was inconvenient. Just over a year I noticed that stitches holding Dura leather and breathable ventilator mesh together were coming loose. I'm not an avid hiker, so I hadn't worn them much when this started happening. Now, the shoe has an half-inch hole on the side! I also noticed that the shoes became wider after a while (I ordered (W)) and after hilly hikes I often ended up with having a pressure pain on the metatarsal area because that became the only spot which holds my feet in my shoes. I remember that this particular model & color was on sale and wonder if it had a quality issue to begin with. Last night, I ordered a new pair but have decided to stay away from Merrell brand.

While this shoe was comfortable when I first it on, it became increasingly uncomfortable. It has stability control to prevent pronation and supination. I'm guessing the stabilizers were the problem. I bought them to wear on vacation and ended up not being able to wear them for very long.

I bought these Siren Sport shoes last spring. I think they are a very attractive pair of shoes, but, they do not provide the support and stabilization my feet require. I think the mesh material on top of the shoe where the laces come through causes the foot to move around a great deal and I have a high arch and have dealt with plantar fasciitis over the past 2 years and this seems to make the problem much worse. The insole is not right for my foot either. Perhaps the arch is in the wrong place and the material is stiff and not padded. I bought these shoes to replace sneakers, which they do not, if you are on your feet a lot and work on concrete, get good supportive and padded shoes, these are more of a fashion statement to wear for a couple of hours looking cute in jeans at the movie theatre.

Merrell must have changed their sizing. My usual size 7.5 didn't fit right - too long and the arch was in the wrong spot. Size 7 felt right on the first try on...but it was too narrow and tight in the toe area when wearing.

Though these shoes were comfortable to wear, it became dangerous when walking on wet surfaces. Several times I had to walk with small steps trying to avoid from slipping and falling. I finally fell while walking on the wet side walk.

I really wanted to love these based on all the rave reviews, but sadly these did not work for me. I ordered an 8.5 because that is my usual size and they felt too narrow and were not comfortable at all. They just felt hard and have no arch support. So I went ahead and ordered to 8.5 wide, thinking that would solve the problem, but they felt too big and again were not comfortable at all. Just felt hard and flat. They are very stylish, cute looking shoes and that is why I ordered them. I ordered the color elephant/pink which is very pretty. I have another pair of Merrell shoes which I like alot that I purchased a couple of years ago, but I cannot say the same for this style. I am giving it 1 star simply for looks only. Overall I am very disappointed with Merrell. I ordered a different Merrell style as well and did not have luck with those either; just not comfortable. I did end up ordering the Columbia Shastalavista low style and am loving those. Very comfortable and cute colors. I must add as well that customer service through Zappos is awesome.

Sole too hard and rounded. Feels unnatural, ungrounded. I prefer a softer shoe and closer to the earth. Can't they please make a waterproof or resistant shoe that's as comfy (soft yet supportive) as a sneaker?
