This is a pretty good shoe -- not the best I've ever had, but certainly not horrible by any means. It does what I want and is comfortable enough (no tight spots and doesn't rub my feet in strange spots). It was also easy to "break in."

I bought these for a trip to Costa Rica that involved a lot of hiking. I'm an 8.5 and that fit pretty well with a little room in the toes. I hiked everywhere and the shoes were extremely comfortable. They did lack ankle support because they are closer to sneakers and not hiking boots.

Shipping is always fast. These shoes look nice, lite weight, rugged tread. I'm sure they will look nice with jeans or shorts. On to the fit- true to size regular size 8 however the width is snug. I tried these one with a athletic sock the shoe is a little loose on my foot. Tried a Smartwool sock cushioning is better. I can wiggle my toes no problem. I will try them on in the morning to see if I get a different feel as I have been on my feet all day. They may need to be broken in. Arch support is very good!

Super shoe...very comfortable! I usually wear a 7 1/2, sized up to an 8 and it's perfect.

Good looking shoe, seems to be appropriately sized wideth and length but there is very little in the way of internal padding and external tread (especially compared to a true hiker). For some reason the ball of my foot was in extreme pain in these shoes, both from the lack of cushion as well as a tight side of shoe. They're going back but for a narrower foot and someone not needing aggressive tread it is a good looking shoe.

Overall, I would recommend. They don't need to be broken in. They are comfortable but a little small, I think. I think they cost a little too much. I think I will have these for awhile, though.

I really like these trail shoes. Fit is good, especially for narrower feet like mine. Comfort factor is good. Shoe is lightweight. Wish sole was a little thicker, but overall, a really good shoe.

Love the look of this shoe and very comfortable. Runs 1/2 size large, so I have to exchange them. The heel also felt wide and my foot slid around in them. I'm hoping the 1/2 size down will help.

I have a long, skinny foot with an average arch. This shoe is a good fit, although it could use a little more cushioning. It feels better on natural ground than pavement.

Love the look and feel of Merrell shoes but their size 11 is way too short for my size 11 foot. That's as long as they go for women. A men's 10 is long enough, but clunkier.

Excellent stability, super cute in grey, slightly loose heel, ordered half size up for wide foot, that worked, 3-4 days break in, not a 'soft ride' tho, more like a 'jeep' :)

I normally wear a size 7 shoe, but they felt like a 6 1/2. I returned them for a 7 1/2, and they fit just fine. If you plan to wear warmer socks definitely go a step up.

These shoes are very comfortable and give great support. I do a lot of hiking in them. I would say though they do run a bit small.

Comfy as all get out. Unfortunately, it slips off my somewhat narrow heel.

I'm enjoying these shoes. I needed an 'all-purpose' shoe for a trip that included a lot of walking--city plus some outdoor easy hiking. I also needed a shoe that could accommodate an orthotic insert. I'm continuing to wear them for activiites on weekends at home.

So, I really like this shoe. It is comfortable, and can be worn all day. It's great for outdoor adventures, days at the zoo and so forth. Having said that, I wouldn't wear this shoe everyday. It's heavy and clunky! Around the house and walking the kids to school I feel like it's just too much shoe.

The look of these hiking shoes is great. The feminine color and style make them the nicest hiking shoes for women I have seen. The only down side for me is that I have really wide feet in the toe box and even the wide is still a little too narrow. But if you have wide feet, these are the best I have found so far. It's really hard to find hiking shoes that are made in very wide widths without going to a mens shoe. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.

I usually buy a 7, but I bought a 7½ to accommodate socks. For that reason, they were a little bit off. I did not try the 7 so this could just be my fault but all in all, I loved them. They are very light, which is a wonderful plus. In order t ensure 100 percent satisfaction you should try two sizes.

Very sharp looking in the olive green/camel combo. Also very light. They weren't quite as comfortable as I thought they would be, but that might be because I've worn Merrell clogs but never the lace up athletic shoes.

Overall, the comfort level of this shoe is not what I was hoping for. The shoe feels very stiff and unyielding; the footbed hard. I have noticed the pain after my shoes comes off has lessened, but they're not that comfortable while I'm wearing them (and I haven't even been on my feet in them THAT much). The shoe rubs on one of my pinkie toes and while it's not unbearable or creating any blisters, it is uncomfortable. For the price, I wish these were a lot more comfortable.

These are great shoes. I wore them straight out of the box to Idaho, Glacier National Park, Canada and Washington for 10 days. The shoes were comfortable for light walking/hikes. On longer hikes, my toes did ache a bit but I think it was because of my socks which were too thin for hiking. My money was well spent on these and they look great, too!

I did not break in this shoe and put it on in good faith first day that I needed it (I had to wear it all day whether it fit or not) and it felt great. There were a few tender spots, but that was to be expected. I continued to wear it all week. It gave me great stability on rough ground and rocks. The vented sides help keep my foot cool. When my shoe did get wet, it dried quickly. Comfortable with or without socks. I had never ordered from Zappos and did not want to run all over a big city looking for shoes for an upcoming trip in 100+ degree heat. Fast delivery and EASY returns. I will be back.

For me, these shoes are true to size. They are fairly comfortable right out of the box and I hope they become more comfortable as time goes on. My only complaint is the laces. The laces keep getting looser and looser as you wear the shoes.

Free shipping a plus, as I had to return my usual size and order 1/2 size larger - which are perfect.

I really like the traction these shoes give me while hiking trails but I would have like them to have a stiffer sole. Also, they didn't have as much support as my New Balance shoes so I added arch supports and that seemed to help.
