I bought these shoes for a trip to Israel about 3 weeks prior to the trip. They required no break in and were comfy from the start. I love them, however, it rained on our trip and these shoes were treacherous! They had no grip whatsoever! I was highly disappointed in a Merrell shoe that made my footing less stable! I had to go back to wearing sneakers until the rain stopped. But, other than that, I love the shoe! They even make my size 10 feet not look like a size 10!

I bought these shoes for a trip to Grand Canyon and Zion National Parks. The shoes are very comfortable and provided excellent traction on the rocky trails. My only complaint is that the breathable mesh areas allowed a lot of fine sand to get in my shoes while hiking. So if planning a hike on sandy trails maybe consider a boot with a leather upper. Other than that I have no complaints about this shoe and I will get lots of use out of it.

Love Merrell shoes and these are no exception. I've only worn a couple times but one day I had them on outside the entire day and they were super comfy. They won't replace your sneakers for exercise or comfort but are fairly close. More structure and stability than a normal sneaker. A little clunky but not nearly as heavy as I expected! I wear 7.5 or 8 and I got the 8. I was outside all day so had thicker socks and it was perfect.

I had high hopes after reading the reviews, and these are good shoes, but not great. Better than the Sketchers (which fall apart in under 6 months) and Keens (which have lowered quality and now fall apart in 6 months) I tried on. I know they will last longer as my other Merrells have. The flexible sole is great and they are fairly lightweight. But anyone claiming these have good arch support it mistaken, like so many other reviews on Zappos and despite the description. There is very little arch support; The removable footbed is made out of a soft foam that is only slightly thicker in the arch region. But it doesn't matter because the foam flattens when any pressure is applied (like standing on it). Under the footbed is a well constructed but flat bottom. I can use my own orthotic footbed inserts, but for once I would just like to wear a pair of shoes as they come if I pay a hundred dollars. For the price they should have more arch support, or maybe come with 2 removable footbeds: one with just padding, and one with actual arch support and padding. I have a high arch and I cannot feel this shoe touching my arch at all. As for the padding, after wearing these for a few hours, I feel a distinct lack of cushioning and my heels are sore. I'm sure the differences in experience and reviews have to do with unique foot shapes and some reviewers lack of experience with higher quality shoes. I ordered these in wide, in a size up as I usually do to accommodate my wide toes and tendency to get back heel blisters. I think I will be exchanging for my actual size, because they are actually wide enough and the back of the heel is padded, flexible, and not too high. Although my toes are a little snug these will work for gym and light hiking.

This is my second time buying this shoe. It is sturdy, comfortable and stylish for a sporty hiking shoe. It is a really durable product. The only down side is that it is a little stiff and takes a while to break in.

It's a good fit right out of the box.The shoe has a roomy toe box and I like that. I would say that the "cushion" feeling is average.
It rates a 4.5 overall for me due to average "cushion" feeling. I would order the same style again.

I love the look of this shoe, but the arch didn't seem to fit quite in the right place. I spoke to a person in customer service that suggested I try a half size larger, but unfortunately this was out of stock at this time. I think it's a pretty great shoe. Seemed to be comfortable, and good support , but was hard to tell because I think it was a little smaller than some brands, not terrible, but a half size larger might have worked out better.

I love the way this shoe looks. The colors are perfect for wearing with slacks while shopping or traveling. Don't scream "athletic shoes." But they have all the functionality and comfort of a serious sport shoe. However, they run small. I had to order one half size up. And that was a little too big. So I closed the gap with insole inserts from Walgreens.

I got this in a 6W and although the length did feel correct, the width felt much too narrow. As soon as I put it on it felt too tight. I know you need to break shoes in, but for a wide foot, it shouldn't feel tight to the point of hurting while walking around your living room. However, the shoe looks smart and has great arch support so I used a shoe stretcher and left it in overnight. It took about 2-3 days of using the shoe stretcher and walking in them to finally make them feel comfortable enough to run errands in. The quality is good so I'm going to keep them and luckily I had a shoe stretcher. I'd say, if you're willing to put in the time (for wide feet gals) then get this shoe since arch support, style and materials all seem high quality. With a little patience, it'll fit perfectly.

This is my 2nd pair of this Merrell Siren Sport. They have great support and are a comfortable sneaker, that I use for running on a regular basis. This pair feels a little larger than my previous pair--even though those are pretty worn.

These sneakers are very sturdy and are comfortable, if a little stiff. They run on the big side. I needed a new pair of sneakers for winter and for a trip to Ireland and I think these will work well.

I bought these for work. I work outside, a lot of cement, asphalt, and water. I was surprised to find that these slip in water. So, I can't imagine them being good for hiking anywhere near wet rocks. They're pretty comfortable, more so than running shoes on concrete. They are heavy, even for someone who strength conditions. My legs feel it by the end of the day. I am a size 10.5 and I ordered 11, they're comfortable. Arch support is good, ankles feel stable, and toes have space as well. I'd prefer a good running shoe over this, but they have been made of such low quality lately, I need something more hefty to last me longer than a month. So I bought these. Style was not quite as soft as the picture, if that makes sense.

I bought these shoes because I was going on a trip, 5 days of walking in DC. My criteria were that the shoe had to be a) comfortable and sturdy enough to do lots of walking without hurting my feet and b) stylish enough to avoid the "gym shoes and jeans" look. I originally ordered my usual size, 8, but to my chagrin there were no 8 wides in stock. In Zappos' defense, there were no wides left in 8 or 8.5 in the black plum color anywhere on the internet as far as I could tell. The 8's were too narrow/small in the toe box so I ordered a pair of 8.5's. As per usual, Zappos was amazing and had these to me the next day, even though I had ordered them late the night before (2 days before I left on my trip). The 8.5's fit much better; you can remove the insert and put in your own insole. I chose a 3/4 length Dr. Scholls insert that allowed even more wiggle room for my toes. I walked for 4 days straight in these with nary a blister or aggravated toenail. The outsoles of the shoes are shaped in such a way that is supposed to be customized to a woman's hip alignment. It took a little bit of wearing around the house to get used to the way it makes you stand/stride, but after that I loved the support and did not get the pain in my knees and hips that I sometimes get even walking. They also give your feet a decent amount of ventilation; I could feel a breeze sometimes which was fantastic on a 80 degree day. I'm not sure how they'll do in cold/wet conditions. Finally, the black plum color is reasonably cute with jeans.

Another great pair of Merrell shoes. I've been wearing this brand for years and was very pleased, though the sole seemed a bit less padded than previous Siren Sports that I've owned. Don't know if the insole has changed or if they changed the sole entirely. Would definitely buy again!

I bought this for a trip to Australia. Wore them there all day long straight out of the box and they were very comfortable. The only problem was toward the end of the day, the pinkie side of my righ foot started aching. I imagine that has more to do with my foot than the shoe and it wasn't anything that'd prevent me wearing it. I got a size 9, which is my usual size for athletic shoes and they fit well. I was looking for a shoe that would work for my trip as well as other walking/hicking/gym activities and I think this shoes fits the bill. Doesn't look as chuncky as other hiking shoes, which I like.

I liked these shoes, but they were too big - half size to one full size. I ordered wide, and they felt true to width though. I am not planning to re-order though because I need to put orthotics in my shoes because I have neuromas, and these were too low profile to comfortably accommodate my inserts.

Nice looking shoes, but it was too narrow and felt about 1/2 size small, so I had to return them. Usually Merrills fit my custom orthotics really well, but this shoe is too shallow to fit them. I do have a rather high instep so they might work for someone who doesn't.

This shoe is more rigid than most tennis shoes however that seems to help with my arches. I am on my feet all day and these shoes are comfortable the entire time. Not cushy as some shoes but comfortable.

The pros: they're very light, the padding is comfy, the tread grip is superb on rough ground and loose scree, and they're kind of pretty for hiking shoes. The cons: I have 'medium to slightly wide' feet, and wish I had returned them before wearing them outside. They felt tight/narrow at home, but I thought maybe things would loosen up after some wear. Not really. After more than a dozen uses, they fit OK, and they were expensive, so I still wear them, but they're still a little uncomfortable and awkward. Probably better for 'medium to slightly narrow' feet.

Love the look of this shoe. It could use a little more arch support. Have only worn them one day and although my feet are tired from being on them all day, no blisters or shoe pain. I have very narrow feet. They fit great and I love that they don't look like big boats like some of the hiking/walking shoes do. I am going to wear them for a few more days and see how they feel. May purchase orthotics if I feel I need more arch support. I got them for walking and traveling.

I have wide feet. I ordered these in a wide. I compared the width to my Saucony wides in a half-size shorter, and these were a good 1/3 inch narrower (inside) at the ball of my foot. Had to return. If they'd fit better, I think they would have been comfortable -- they are extremely lightweight, good insole, nice arch support.

I still prefer New Balance to stand for 8 hours at work, and I don't like these for a long walk, either, but I kind of like the way they look. Somehow, although my foot isn't wide, they kind of pinch a bit on the sides. Neither the most nor the least comfortable shoe I've ever bought. Wish I could rave, but I can't.

This is my first pair from this company and I really like this shoe.
Pros:
Very good traction from the Vibram soles. I can feel it grip the ground even on hills with wet grass and muddy trails.
Cute, if slightly clunky looking. I could have sized it 1/2 size down but I added some wool socks and better arch supports and they are fine. With thin socks, they are a little large.
Great ties. I do not need to double tie the laces and they stay put.
Cons:
They could use better arch support. I do not have particularly high arches but I added my own insole. Without them my feet were pretty tired.
I would love to have shoes that are all a single color without the bright accents.
